Well, uh, just eatin' some chicken... Um, that's it. Grin

Oh, about the run... Nothing really, I want to finish X-2 and KH first. X-2 will be done soon, but I have no idea when I'll finish KH. I'll bump this topic when I begin VIII again because I know it's been a long time and people want to hear about progress if there is any.

I really hope to see this speed run.. i love the final fantasy series and to see a speed run of either of them would be great!!!

Bumping this topic, so you know what that means. Yes, I will start running this game today... AGAIN... I've really wanted to take up GarlandG on his challenge in FF7 but I have to first finish what I started.

Also, my end time in the game will be less than 8:47 because this was based on the game clock, and adding how much time it took to kill Ultimecia. Since the game timer is not displayed at the end, it will be ignored and timed based on SDA rules. The game timer includes the beginning cut-scene, which won't count.

Not really, the start and end points can easily be found and there are only 22 segments, unlike certain other games I don't want to mention... Besides, I'll give a list of approximate start/end times.

That's not how it works. It will be timed from the last point in which you can see the game clock, and the real time to completion will be added on to that. So the beginning cut scene will count.

Haha, like what?

All you guys posting about verification, first of all verification isn't done by just one person. Also, Radix convenience samples and would rather take verifiers that he trusts more. So the runs that make it to the "needs verification" list are more obscure than Final Fantasy.

I remember Radix saying somewhere that if the timer isn't displayed at the end, and if it's only displayed in the menu or something then the game time will be ignored.

Oh here it is, it's on the News page for the Shaolin Monks run.
The game has a timer which would make the run lower, but it's only visible on saving and loading so it gets ignored.

In RPGs, where you can see the timer from the menu, it is timed this way. The first example I can think of is my FF2 run.

I really want to know what games you're thinking of where they have lots of segments. Like some of those FPSs or something where you can save anywhere? Personally, I think as long as it's segmented, you should use as many as is optimal. If you really don't want to mention anything in this thread for whatever reason, you can just PM me if you want.

I counted it right when I delivered the final blow to Ultimecia, and then rounded up.

Y'know, I could swear I killed off Ultimecia pretty quick (luckily Squall whored Lion heart) but the fight kept going becuse she had to give her little speach. Is it just me or does that actually happen?

I mentioned this before, but it's a while back in the topic...

Ultimecia is dead when she first says something, then you need to keep attacking her 5 additional times doing at least 100 damage each time 'till she finishes her little speech (I'm not sure about the exact number, but ~70 was too little and ~140 was enough, so I'm guessing it's 100).

My friend Jonathan said he did around 5 Lionhearts in a row and she still didn't die.
