Not exactly sure where to put this so I decided to post it here

The iOS version of FF7 has two really interesting features that I think make it viable for speed running. This version gives you the ablity to completely shut off random encounters at will and also gives you the ability to max out your stats from the very beginning in the options menu. Now, since it is a PC port, if it is possible to do the Yuffie warp, this can cut the grinding and the step counting completely out of the current world record.

The run would basically be menuing to max stats and one hitting everything through Midgar/Midgar Zolom, going to the Ft. Condor area, Yuffie warp to northern Crater, and possibly using limits (you get them leveled up all the way as well when you max stats) to defeat Jenova/Bizzaro/Safer.

Of course there is the issue of if Yuffie warping would be viable, also recording on the device (may require Apple TV or something. I'm sure people have done this in the past.)

What do you guys think?
Thread title:
The Japanese PC version has these features as well but they arent used on runs for the obvious reasons Wink
Encounters On and Encounters Off are toggleable.

I think they should be allowed because the switch is RIGHT THERE with the rest of the on-screen controls and it is not a permanent effect.

Does the Japanese PC version let you turn off random encounters? afaik it doesn't.
Did not know it was available in the Japanese PC version. So this option is already out there, and if it were to become a category, the PC version would be way more efficient. Thanks for the input everyone!
