We round up the seconds because they seriously don't matter in a run that is 7 and a half hours long. Smiley

I mean, if someone sent in a 7:40:42 run to beat this (using your time) 7:40:55? Rejected, not fast enough.
I will knock you all down!
You have a point, but I still think they should be included  Tongue

Anyway, look what I found:

Yup, Segment 3. Finally! God, that was almost more annoying than the first.
imo it should be at least 15 minutes faster. Nobody wants to see the same run twice to see it done a few seconds faster.

Well I personally would much rather see the PS version than the computer version, so even if it's just a few minutes faster, I would watch it. That's just me, though.

Why is PSx verision rather than PC? theyre exactly the same...
give me your eyes!!!
I strongly prefer the ps version, and I can't exactly explain it. I suppose I'm just used to it, the pc version differs in speed of battle openings and maybe other things, and I think the sounds are a bit different. I simply find more enjoyment watching Garland's run than Farringa's... well they're both around now so each to his/her own!
Can't forget music quality either. The music on the PC version is in midi format.

Everything's better with Magitek
There are a couple of differences in the dialogue between the PSX and PC versions as well.  Some things the characters say make more sense in the PC version; for example, near the beginning, right after Barret tells Cloud to set the first bomb for the reactor, in the PSX version Cloud says, "Fine, be my guest," and in the PC version he says, "Fine, I'll do it."  They also fixed the "This guy are sick" line in the PC version.  Also, more of the swear words are censored in the PC version (i.e. showing "#@*!" instead of the actual word).
They also censored some of the words in the Greatest Hits version.

I find it kinda funny how they censored the words in the PC version and not the PSX version, as PC games have the least censorship.

Much of the same reasons Cannibal gave. I've only played the Playstation version so I'm used to it. Also, I have a small bias against PC runs that I can't really describe, but I know if it's possible, I would always rather see a run of the console version of a game than the PC version.
About the music...
It's noteworthy that the quality of MIDI depends on a particular setup (I believe they call it "synthesizers", or something like that.) One can have a high-quality MIDI setup where each instrument is sampled at eight different volumes to give the unexperienced listener the sense of acoustically recorded, rather than electronic, music. (If that makes any sense!) I believe that (like all or most playstation games) the PS1 version actually used MIDI as well; so both the PC and console versions have MIDI.

We would have had a whole different experience if the sound engineers had done as well in FF VII as in Chrono Cross.

I think Uematsu did a pretty good job with (appropriately) composing on this one. It had some bouncy tunes, but what can you do? It's Uematsu! Personally, I quit listening to the soundtrack a while ago, because I moved on from the "depressing", decadent spirit of the game.
What SDA is waiting for !?
Farringa's run hasn't been post yet !!  Angry
...................hope they won't refuse it  Tongue
The verification process doesn't happen overnight; they have to really carefully review every submission in order to minimize the likelihood of a cheated run getting accepted and further to uphold SDA standards of quality in terms of play and video quality. It also takes time to create pages for the games and upload them to the appropriate hosting services, and then we have to wait for the careful writing of some skillful iambic pentameter for the news.

Basically, be patient, and don't be too worried. FFVII is a very popular game, and there are many sources any verifier can look to to verify the quality of the strategies used and to verify the exact working of any unfamiliar mechanics. It will take time, but it would take far more time if it were an obscure game so you have to have perspective on that.
Talk to the Hand
Don't forget, too, that this is a freaking LONG run (Relative to most on the site; it's short for FFVII, of course), so it's going to take much longer to verify based on that alone.

If it gets rejected, he'll know about it, don't worry.
Word.

This waiting at the break of summer is just killing me Grin

It may end up, that I leave for week ... and in this week this run will be realesed. It may sound silly, but ... THIS IS THE FREAKIN FF7 RUN Tongue
I love YaBB 1G - SP1!
Rejected! No way this is ff7 Cheesy they cant reject this (or i hope they dont at least.)

Trust me, everything is fine everyone. It just takes longer than you would think. I had my last run verified and ready to be posted and it took another three weeks for it to be posted. Patience everyone.

3 more weeks ... noooooooo ... Oh, bugger. If it will come before August it will be OK ... I think Grin
You got a deletion wish?
My trio of the Bouncer took 3 months (2 to find verifiers, 1 for them to verify); Radix was in charge of verifying at the time, Uyama took over some time before they came to light.

Well it should be much less than three weeks I would think, since it's a very popular game and has been verified for a little while now.
I will knock you all down!
In the meantime, you can watch my run.

Segment 4:
Segment 5:

Segment 5 is the last insane luck-requiring segment before the Shinra HQ, so expect more videos during the next couple of days.

Also, I'm four minutes ahead of my old record right now. If I keep going like this, I could break the 8 hours mark.
Word.
Watching GarlandG put out all these segments makes me wanna start over and compete with him... Sad

Keep going Garland! The run is looking great so far. But... didn't you forget something? I think you missed the cover in the the garden by Arieth's house, no? or are you going to get it when you go back? It seems like it would be more time consuming that way...
I love YaBB 1G - SP1!
maybe he won't need it. did you use it in your run?
