I can see 4 possible categories for runs in this game.

NG, NG+(VH10), Co-op NG, and Co-op NG+(VH10)

There are a lot of shortcuts that take some measure of skill to pull off and there are a few key shortcuts only available in a NG+ run (or NG if you take the wasted time to grind a character), and even if you do NG+(VH10 Difficulty) with max stat characters (which are obtainable easily and legitimately within a single run) you can have a character die in 2 to 3 hits.

I've done a testrun and got the splits for an initial NG+ VH10 run.

Splits: http://www.mediafire.com/download/7jh8r17r3mkvz5s/FFCCEoT.split (for use with WSplit)

It was a shaky run but I hope more people look into running this game.
Thread title:
Heres the first proper speedrun I've done:
I only played this game when it came out, and stopped after beating NG+10, but I was wondering if you had thought about multi-character runs?  If my memory serves me correctly, rooms can be entered so long as one character approaches the door, as I remember a lot of the puzzle rooms could be skipped with 2 selkies.  Of course this would take a much larger amount of coordination, but just a thought.
I guess if anyone else wants to do a run, here are some of the major glitch shortcuts I use (I won't include non-glitch shortcuts)

Aquaducts 1:
Wall clipping through orb room (Useless in multiplayer or without AIs)
Sword Smash the key to get it early.

Ice Mountain 2:
Final room, block puzzle: You can pull a block to push yourself through the green barrier wall without doing the puzzle.

Tower:
First Poison Room: Haste Wall-clipping. Be thrown through the green barrier wall while haste is active. In multiplayer, the other player can be picked up and clipped into the area through the bottom corner of that section.

Playing a co-op speedrun would likely be much faster actually, You could easily get much better times simply by keeping one player dead and being used as a footstool for the other player.
I'm actually pretty interested in a run of this game, though I've only played the DS version.  Are there any discrepancies between the DS and Wii version?

The games are identical - they have to be in order to sync with each other. The only real differences is screen position, the ability to resize screens on the Wii version, and slight control stuff. Personally I like the Wii verson's control feel better.
Iirc you could use a classic controller on the wii version, only played once and not for long so i dont know much about it. But it seems like a good game to run, with a lot of vround to cover Smiley might start running it once i get a copy of it
If you are going for a NG+ run, having both is actually very important. The wii version has a glitch that lets you get other race's skills on a character.

In my run you see my selkie doing sword smash (Clavat Specific skill) and having 4 stacked magic rings (Yuke Specific skill)
It seems RNG based but sometimes when the wii version hosts a multiplayer session, it loads your character's skills and sometimes stats but messes up and loads the character, equips, and levels of the character in that player slot from the wii version, meaning you get a new character while keeping your old skills. (It does mean if you save you lose all equips you previously had on that character)

Run wise, the Wii version is probably better since it can handle more on-screen things without lagging. I lost a bit of time in my run because of the slowdowns.
perhaps someone could share their route so i can see where i can improve mine?
