I did a normal run last year and had fun, but damn it was tough. I had thief, geomancer, dancer, and something else (summoner or time mage, can't remember). I registered for random this time, but I just noticed the new categories and I was thinking of going for a 750 run. Just to avoid that damn thief. I can't imagine doing a no 750 run.
What do people think about the use of savestates and turbo? I used it last time, but since I may stream some of it this time I might hold back on it. Although because of that I'm likely going to do it on GBA to speed things up a bit. Anyways, I'm hype.
e: Would people make a big deal if I got a thief's sprint on one of my characters? Running doesn't affect the gameplay (Karnak escape?), and I much prefer the SNES music....
Yeah, I've definitely seen people use Turbo before. Save States, well, that's up to you I guess? I didn't use either, but I played on a GBA cart, so yeah.
Signed up for Random + Berserker Risk, so it should be fun to run through... Now I've just got to brush up on some of the classes I rarely use just in case (like mix lists, and such).
Can I do a second time after I beat it for first time?
Last year after a couple of days, they added the option to go again after you'd finished your run by tweeting a command, and it added ~1 or something to your twitter name, so I'd assume you'll be able to do more than 1 run again this year.

Yup! It is actually easier this year. Once your run has been verified all you have to do is tweet #reg or whatever you want. I made some improvements so verifying runs will be a lot quicker than it has been before.
The fiesta starts in full once RK finishes his run if he does it before the timer on the main page hits 0. He still has like 2 days left... Short of something blowing up he should finish before the timer
For those that want to keep track of your deaths and game overs (especially streamers), here's a quick little program I threw together. D to add to the death counter, G for the Game Over counter. Save file keeps track of things between runs (file updates after addition to either counter).
Use it if you want, don't if you don't.
Edit: Removed the attachment as I updated the save file in v1.1. Please see the attachments later in the thread.

It's probably going to be more of an issue with resets for me than anything else. I guess that's equivalent to game overs.
