FF5 Four Job Fiesta 2013

For anyone who missed it the preregistration opened up yesterday. It also looks like the rules were changed a bit. Random runs no longer allow duplicate jobs unless Berserker Risk is on. Also 3 new rule sets were added on top of this change. The new ones are:

Natural - The character must use the job that matches their crystal and only that job and it's skills
750 - Rod breaking jobs and those along similar lines
No 750 - Basically everything else

So who is gonna join me in being sacrificed to Gilgabot this year? Tongue

White mage isn't a terrible start...Just takes extra leveling at the start and remembering to buy protect. Thief is the one you will regret later on. Besides I'm doing a normal run as well but I have Berserker Risk on >_<

I'm planning on doing this as well, though last year when I tried this, my psx disc would give up mid-play several times.... If anything, I'll try to buy an SFC import. Heard they're pretty affordable.

I'm tempted to roll #regrand #natural and #berserkerrisk, but let me get this straight if I'm reading it correctly: I won't end up with 4 berserkers, right?

This'll be my first time playing Job Fiesta. It seems fun!

For every 10 dollars donated before the event, a player with berserker risk will get a berserker. Since you don't get berserker until the water crystal you'll end up with one proper wind crystal job since you'll have nothing else that's accessible at the time. The only way people will get even double berserker is if there's more money donated then at risk players. With random and natural only Lenna (or whatever she's called in the version you're playing) will be at risk of being stuck as berserker

Oh yeah if you're planning on streaming the run and can't find the command to link your stream to the player list on their website tweet #stream url to Gilgabot. It takes some time to update but people will be able to find the streams through the player list this way

There's at least 241 players getting berserker in their run now. Getting close to the point where someone will end up with doubles and there's still 13 days til the event starts >_<

Aha, apparently there's a Japan Virtual Console release. I guess I could find a translation somewhere to follow along. Smiley

The bot takes a bit to add in the stream and doesn't tell you when it does. That part might be done by hand honestly

Ah... yeah. If it's manual, and the manual operator is having as much trouble getting into the terribly overloaded server as the rest of us are...

Any suggestions on a translation script I can use to follow along while I play by the way?

Well, you have a few options for language.

1. Play the GBA version.
2. Play the PSX version (not really recommended - the load times suck).
3. Get the SFC ROM and patch it with this patch: http://www.romhacking.net/translations/353/

I've got strategy guides for the PSX and GBA versions (scans, so I can share). Not sure how much they'll help though...

I have the GBA version, but the only version I can stream (and let's be honest, if I can't stream this I won't finish it) is the VC version. I know the hacks exist... I was just hoping there was a script written out of one of those translations.
