can you sequence break missions? i have been trying to skip parts in the very very first mission where you escape and there are some hanging bodies at the very start that are physics based, maybe you can glitch into the walls with them
found something very weird... get the ability to throw rocks and then go back through the house with the map to the man guarding the dead pigs (if you respawn at the checkpoint, the door behind you closes). throw a rock to distract the guard and the pigs that appear to be stuck in the ground on a stick are merely balancing there and fall over when you touch them... scared the **** out of me
Love the beautiful open world in this game. Didn't like the story much...
I have the PC version. I'm sure there are differences vs. the console version, but I can't personally compare.
I've been working on a draft speedrun. To that end I made the two attached maps where all the locations are marked in sequence of the main story line. They could be used to optimise the route, and to start traveling to the next objective before it's marked on the map.
There are several requests on the Internet asking the developers to make the cutscenes skippable. Such an update would increase the replay value, and would shorten a run by about an hour. I found a single post where a console player claimed he could skip cutscenes using the "B" button - can you guys confirm this? If that's true, console players have an instant 1-hour advantage
I wasn't actively looking for glitches, so if e.g. you manage to get to the 2nd island early in the game, much of the run can be skipped.
Here are the keys to the numbers in the images.

Hey guys. I now have the first half of a draft Far Cry 3 speedrun. It's a glitchless run.
I capture one enemy outpost (Rusty Yard) at 00:44:25 as it can be reused for fast travel later, resulting in some moderate savings. Otherwise I follow the required missions.
The length of the video is 1 hour, but I edited out another 1 hour worth of cutscenes and segments where no skill is required (other than to press buttons it tells you to press). The second half of the video is coming up in a few days.
I'm looking for feedback and advice on how to further optimize and speed it up. Thanks.
liked that first speedrun part very much. looks like ur not making any mistakes. also good job editing out cutscenes, thou, i wouldnt mind them. cant wait to see second part.
Far Cry 3 segmented glitchless draft speedrun, part 2 of 2:
I skip all cutscenes that are longer than a few seconds, and the ending is full of such cutscenes. So for now I provisionally edited the video to end with the chopper fight.
Edit: Forgot to say that the gameplay is Survivor (Normal) difficulty.
I've start to think about a speedrun of Far Cry. I don't think there is any sequence break in the game but there might be a way to go faster. First is it not possible to take 10 letters un order to unlock the new blade: With her you can one or two shot most of opponent and so clean area faster. The upgrade for the syringe might be good for rush the ennemy without worrying about going back to the menu. In the syrringe we have to find the best syringe to make (i think the health one followed by the one who make you invincible at the end of the game). The weapon might be one shotgun and one heavy machine gun. In skills every think that can make you run faster, have more health. After the thing that take the item of the ennemy with the stealth killing ans the skill who kill the dozers. Even if I love playing stealth I don't think it's a good gameplay, the best might be to rush and do a few stealth kill and than let's speaking the shotgun at low range.
So I don't think we can séquence break the game but we can make a better time without problem, that's only an optimisation question. If someone still working on it I would appreciate working with him. Sorry for my english but i'm writing with my phone and he corrects every word un French.
I think, optimistically, that there is a sequence break in the game, we just have to find it.
I, too, have started to practice routes, but it will be a couple months more to get the full run functional. Here's what I have so far (that's new) Through testing bunny hopping is about 1/15th faster than sprinting on flat ground, so it is always optimal unless the ground is sloped down at an angle that causes the stumbling animation. When you exit doctor earnhearts mushroom cave, go right and hop up the hill at the exit. This saves a fair bit of time. It is possible to find a time save at the radio tower mission by going left and jumping up the hill, although it may turn out to be useless. What needs work: Spawn rates on vehicles don't seem consistent. Tping away, then returning does not always work and costs valuable time. A quick reload of the game works sometimes, but not always. Perhaps thinkshooter or slayerofbabies can help?
I will spend more time over the next few weeks finding a few more routes and this post is pretty immature, but I wanted to start working with other people trying to start running as well, like the post above me.
For the beginning we can save a few second when Denys go out of Amanaki in direction of the radio tower. Just get out of the town and when y ou can try to shoot on Denys, aim just near of him (if you aim on him you can't shoot) and shoot. If you touch him, go near of Denys and the trigger will be activated so you can run to the tower.
The best way to skip place might be to know how the trigger works. People who do TAS could help but the day we'll sée Tas on Far Cry 3 will be on a long time.
