God damnit....forgot to log in again before I posted! #¤%"

Anyway, if someone would pull together a speedrunning crew I would be able to contribute to the project. I've only played through the game once (a buddy got the cd now) but I spent alot of time on it exploring the maps, just having fun. And I noticed alot of tricks/exploits. Mostly in the outdoor sections. Most of it is probably known in the farcry community, and a speedrun of the game should probably come from that community. I assume there's a pretty large following of this game since it's the second best fps game of all time. And no, Half-Life only gets 3rd place in my book =)

Reckless driving on some of the maps creates huge shortcuts. I don't remember the spesific maps, I only remember that there were some huge jumps who would look utterly incredible in a 3rd person/recammed perspective.

Then there's stuff like gaining height in the hang-gliders. Which probably isnt very fun to watch, but extremely useful on some of the maps.

One map towards the end was very hard, until I found a way to manipulate those oversized badass rocketdudes into getting stuck behind a rock so I could easily pick them off, and duck back when the rocket shower approached.

Not to mention after you've finished the game it unlocks a "statistics-mode". FCdQ100% anyone? =)

The game has huge potential, but demands a pretty powerful pc, so I guess it wouldn't be for everyone. I would sure like to see a run of this game. It would be highly entertaining.

**Another thing I forgot. While playing around in FC and trying to record demos, the demos would always play back in an fps-dependant speed. Low detail areas would be fast as hell, and high detail areas in normal speed. There's probably a way around that by now, but I haven't been paying attention to FC much lately.
Does anybody know anything about a run for FarCry? Played the game now a thousand times and think I know a few nice shortcuts...

i've been looking at it pretty thouroughly and i normally take it slow and stuff, but i reckon this could be done in sub 4 hours. I've been thinking about giving it a go. but i need to get my computer working properly first, i might give some trials while its still crap Tongue
yep, far cry seems to be a good game to run as it's a game where the levels are defined so that he can't walk (further) and not the way the player may walk.
You all know these games where you want to get somewhere and accidentally there's a hidden wall or something and you can't jump an 0,3m high fence...

good luck, in finding shortcuts and/or the fastest way to go. realkly looking forward seeing this.
