I love YaBB 1G - SP1!
I've been watching some Doom speedruns over at compet-N, and they have this category "NM100S" or ns. It's like a normal nightmare run, but "plus all secrets."

In Doom, of course, Nightmare skill means "respawning monsters", so it doesn't make sense to do 100% kills, and NS was probably intended as an alternative because the secrets are something that can be counted.

In Quake, Nightmare has a fixed monster count, so you can do Nightmare 100% runs (all kills and secrets.) In contrast, NS would not necessarily involve kills, just registering the secrets.

Why could this be interesting?

Because it is halfway between a normal run and a 100%. It's basically a third category. In addition to "reach the exit AFAP" it gives you an additional task of "touch every secret trigger while running". Like checkpoints. Unlike 100% runs though, it doesn't require the tedious killing everything.

It would present a  new challenge, and could be very entertaining. You'd see new routes and it would probably allow for a host of new tricks. If it wasn't good for a new category, SDA could at least use it for a contest. Just pick maps that have a lot of (hard to reach) secrets. Or even episodes.

It would probably also make for a new coop challenge, because all routes would have to be adjusted.

Do you think this would be worth doing?

Tedious?! Killing monsters in Quake is what makes the game fun!

Which we've already done on a few occasions.
