What can I do to help?
In the streaming room, there will be the old dedicated streaming tech station where people like you can help with handling donations, moderating the chat and other tasks. Everything will follow a pre-formulated schedule that guarantees that all stations are manned at all times, with more people during prime time, and less during graveyard shifts. Everything will be well-documented with elaborate cheat sheets / manuals with images, in addition to which the scheduling will never leave you alone without someone who can help you get started. Our vision is that a trained monkey (or an untrained marathon attendee Wink ) should be able to handle the stream.

I would like to help out at the streaming station, if this is possible Smiley

Right, there's my motivation to get a new job so I can afford to attend.  Obviously I'll be attending regardless of whether or not I can physically make it, I'll just go OOB or something,...

Get the job man, we still need to finish the god damn sonic game!

I would absolutely love to go. Unfortunately, the nearest airport I could fly into in Sweden is Stockholm from Dublin. How much roughly would the train/bus fair be to Skövde?

We paid this year for the train rides (Arlanda C => Stockholm C => Skövde C and back) 573 SEK (around 67€).

Quote from ESA:
Where will I sleep?
Most rooms are doubles and will cost you 260 SEK (~30€) per night

For each person or for both together?
Anyway this is a really good price!

It's per person.

Truljin @ Twitch
Really hyped for this and hopefully i can do a game this time Wink
The first ESA I paid about 45€ iirc for the whole week for entry + housing. ESA13 I paid about 90€ or so. This ESA it's gonna amount to about 30*7+50 = 260€. This is evolving in the wrong direction IMO. I hope that can be resolved or I might not be able to afford coming, let alone many others who have to travel much further than me.

That is if you take the hotel deal, the mass house will be cheaper for those that don't go with the hotel.

260 € is only valid if you take the hotel room. There will be an option of mass housing, of which we do not know the exact price yet. This option of mass housing is going to be significantly cheaper than the hotel room option.
(Assumptions following from here: ) Unless there where gigantic uncovered expenses I am not aware of, the mass housing option will put the total cost somewhere close to last year's. It might actually be cheaper, because the rent for one of the places we're looking at, is significantly less than the HoC.
I was under the impression that it wasn't set in stone and that people needed to sign up or similar for mass housing to be considered. But alright, as long as it's being looked at that's enough for me for now.

It's set in stone that we'll have one, it's just not set in stone which one it'll be ^^ At least it wasn't during the skype call before we posted this.

I paid for the ESA 2013 around 875€ (50€ ESA + 505€ hotel (9 nights) + 320€ travel cost). For me it is a huge improvement if I only have to pay 270€ for the hotel this time. Wink

To explain the pricing further.

ESA2012 - The municipality covered all losses this event had. Which were a lot from what I understand.

ESA2013 - We made a profit from this event, money that will be spent on ESA2014 in one way or another.

ESA2014 - Given that at least 20 persons will stay at the mass housing option, don't expect to may more than 50€ (entry fee) + 25€ (housing). At that point it's not going to be more expensive than last year.
would also go for the mass housing...
30€ per day is still too much since the flight + train will cost me about 250€ ..
and I don't really want to plan on spending more than 500€ / max 600€

Mass housing is the truly Swedish experience anyway Wink
I will probably take on the mass housing too. Prolly need to talk to someone about possible anxiety attacks and medication, but I think it will be fine~

That's a pity.

Don't forget that the rooms are doubles, so you can split the price [need confirmation]. So then it'd be 15*7+50 = 165€.
No, it says that it will cost you 30 per night. You meaning you as in a person and not the group of two sleeping there.
That's a pity.
Ah, well nevermind that then
Didn't see this thread until now. I guess i have 7 months of hype before me Smiley I'll run Battle Kid this time again if i'm motivated enough.

Where should I direct further questions?
You should in general try to ask questions that make sense in the respective threads that will be created here on the SDA forum throughout the planning of this marathon. We also have a twitter account where we will answer questions and give out more information on what is being worked on or whatever else we would like to share.
