General information
Not complying with the rules will cause your submission to be ignored.
This thread is about your own suggestions / submissions. Not discussions!
Game suggesting will being on 2014-01-25 at 08:00 CET and end on 2014-03-09 at 23:59 CET.

Our philosophy
When deciding whether a suggested game will fit into the final schedule, we will consider all of the following: Length, entertainment value, other games we can potentially put before or after a said game and commentary qualities.

To the best of our abilities, we will try to give everyone a game on the schedule. But there are no guarantees!

Rules of submissions
There are no limits of how many, how long, how many categories or console restrictions when submitting games. However you are required to rank which game you would prefer to play. Genres that are not allowed are visual novels, hentai, ultra violent games and long adventure games.
Pitching games that you have not yet learned or mastered is OK. But you need to show steady (weekly) progress after the point that your suggestion passes the first cut.

In the event that we decide that one stream will not be enough, we will introduce a second stream. Content will be slightly shifted in favor for the first stream while attempting to balance runners. Content on the first stream will be speedruns only. The second stream will compliment the first stream and include live tas:ing, backseat runs, backstage interview and genres like rhythm games, arcade games, shmups etc.

Option to opt-out from the second stream
If you feel that you do not want your game on the second stream, you can opt-out of having any of your suggested games on the second stream. Note, that you can either opt-out for all of your suggestions, or none.

What we expect for all submissions
We expect that you as a runner will provide additional information about region, console and and settings when the schedule is being finalized. Failing to do so within 30 days after the first cut, will cause your submission to be dropped.

A brief written FAQ about the game, including it's running history, physics, tricks used in the run and possible sequence breaks. This FAQ should be available no later than 4 weeks prior to the event. This is what we are looking for: https://forum.speeddemosarchive.com/post/agdq_faq_collection_thread.html

Finally, we require all submissions to answer this question: Assuming there are no prior submissions of said game and run. Is or will your level of routing and execution be enough to pass through a fictional SDA verification process by the time of the final schedule?

This is the format we want you to follow for your suggestions:

Console: Wii Virtual Console (NES)

The game is a pretty well known game to the NES, and a pretty hard game to speedrun optimally. The game includes many Hype points and
displays of great execution that will definitely fit the screen and ESA standards. Hardest trick in the game (4-3 boss) will definitely get the crowd going,
plus it looks awesome when done quick Wink

2. Castlevania: Harmony of Dissonance - Maxim All Bosses,  Maxim Any%

It would be stupid not to include the Any% since... beating a CV game in under a minute? who doesn't want to see that?!
Both runs feature a variety of really nice glitches: going OOB, Damage glitch and optimal movement. the only thing I'm worried about is
that the audience will not understand is how hard it actually is to do all the stuff :P.
I did this game last year at ESA and have since then really Improved my skills, and both cathegories have been submitted to SDA for verification.

3. Castlevania: Aria Of Sorrow - Soma Any% (Normal)
Estimate: 00:20:00
Personal best: 00:15:35 (TWR)
Console: GBA (Gamecube GameboyPlayer)

This run is a bit more slow-paced than the other two runs and is a bit more RNG-based, which will make me be able to talk alot more and explain to the audience what's going on.
Features really optimal boss fights, OOB glitches and generally pleasing for the eyes to watch, I think the audience will get to know me more as a runner/person in this run Smiley

Console: PC
This speed run is awesome. You saw the run last year by me I hope Wink Also, I have improved a lot and got even more mind-bending strategies. There will be no "safe strats" anymore. People can also donate towards showing off teleportation. Something new I've learned since last ESA. Also p-why (current Braid WR holder) might attend this ESA. If so we would like to race Braid.

2. Another Perspective - any% (= 100 % in this game)
Estimate: 15 min
Personal best: 12:22
Console: PC
This game is somewhat inspired by Braid. It is shorter and based on another mechanic than time-manipulation. It is newer and therefore have fewer tricks when it comes to speedrunning, but me and p-why have found some interesting stuff. Also the game developer, who will be at ESA and can therefore commentate, might release some additional stuff for this game which makes speedrunning it more interesting. Also p-why (current Another Perspective WR holder) might attend this ESA. If so we would like to race this game.

3. 140 - any%
Estimate: 30 min?
Personal best: Nothing yet (WR = about 17 min)
Console: PC
Nice platform indy game from the maker of "Limbo". Interesting to speedrun as well. I have only played through this game a couple of times, but I have gotten in contact with the WR holder and he is willing to teach me some tricks. Hopefully I can progress towards a good time for ESA 2014. This game is very music - based and therefore very fun to watch imo. If kozziii himself is going to ESA then he should run this game and not me (if we wants to ofc...)

4. DragonBox (5+) - any%
Estimate: 20 min
Personal best: 14:23 (WR)
Console: PC
This is a very weird game to speedrun. It was made for kids to help them learn how to solve equations. I solve 100 equations in this game. Might be a bit boring to watch, but also very different Wink Something for the bonus stream?

www.youtube.com/watch?v=KNkh1bVhkiQ

General info: If I get several games in, it would be nice if they were not too far apart from each other. The two first games I've suggested are very similar and all the three first games are indy games (maybe for an indy block?). I will be able to stay at ESA probably 2-3 days this year.

Personal best: 4:37:59

This game is just a incredible good game to watch and great to show of the different tricks in the game.
Some of the most hype tricks are Zombie Hovers, were we mash our B button fast as possible to beign able to hover in the air while we are dead. Its a hilarious trick to watch a runner do. We got the main glitch / trick in the game with the name of Storage that is beign used alot in the runs to do alot of funny things like walking up walls and super fast swimming like Michael Phelps Grin
Great Zelda game in general and really entertaining to watch! #WinWaker.
If Demoon9 decides to show up, we have been thinking of doing a Co-OP Run

Personal best: 4:28:00 (4 hours, 28 minutes)

This speed run is terrible, the game is full of glitches and OoBs, but none of them are remotely useful for speed running (Aside from 2 which save 35 seconds total.) Nobody else let's plays this walking simulator as quickly as I do, though.

www.youtube.com/watch?v=qB5MOq9Sm0I (This run doesn't utilize the skips I found, but I have no recording of one of my runs)

This is a really neat speedrun, sort of like Penumbra or Amnesia runs in terms of content skipped, except with a lot more variation in the glitches, the only thing is that the first skip is completely luck based, I could attempt it for 3 minutes then just reset and do the run without it if I don't get it though.

1 - Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII [PS3 NTSC(-J)]

Estimate: 3:45:00
Personal Best: 2:44:56
Fastest Known Time: 2:44:56 (PS3)
Comment:
A complete gameplay overhaul over the previous games in the trilogy which makes the combat even more fast paced and interesting to play and watch.
Movie skip allows for little downtime between events, battles and so on.
The game is still fairly new so it will probably catch the attention of more people.
Donation incentives in form of Superbosses and Outfit colors.
(The times can still go down by a bit since the game isn't even out yet in US/EU - However, the current route is already fairly optimized!)

2 - Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles [GCN-J (Wii)]

Estimate: 2:45:00
Personal Best: 2:34:26
Fastest Known Time: 2:10:32 (Wii)
Comment:
Very underrated game with a pretty original combat system which, in a speed run, is pretty fast paced and interesting to watch.
It has little RNG involved which allows for pretty consistent times even in no reset runs or in this case a marathon run.
Possible 4 player co-op run.
Donation incentive in form of character race choice.
Very little downtime between dungeons and bosses.
(NOTE about PB and fastest known time: Every step on the world map can trigger random events which can take up to 60 seconds at worst.
Achieving times such as the fastest known is very unlikely in a marathon run and also requires a little bit of drop luck in the final area.
A safe bet on a marathon run would be 2:25-ish. In addition to that, my PB was done reading the game off an SD card which is naturally slower than a disc by a few minutes)

3 - Final Fantasy XIII-2 [PS3 - NTSC(-J)]

Estimate: 4:00:00
Personal Best: 3:17:47
Fastest Known Time: 3:17:47 (PS3) - 3:17:30 (Xbox360)
Comment:
A lot has changed since the race during ESA'12 and routes and times have improved a lot.
Fair amount of donation incentives in form of route choice, costume choice, etc.
Movie skip allows for little downtime between events, battles and so on.
Also, I'm fairly sure it could be a race since multiple 13-2 runners will be attending ESA this year.

4 - Digimon World (Glitched) [PSX-J]

Estimate: 0:25:00
Personal Best: 11:28
Fastest Known Time: 11:28 (PSX)
Comment:
Open-tray glitch completely breaks the game due to memory corruption. It seemed to be decently well received during ESA'13.
It's very short and would fit best as a bonus game this year if we happen to get ahead of schedule or something like that.
(I don't think it should be on the original schedule since nothing has changed since the last run hence why I'm suggesting it as a possible bonus game)

Edit: I will add videos if I can still manage to find them.

Estimate: 4:20:00
PB: 4:18:39 WR: 3:55:43

For those who aren't familiar with KH, it's an action/rpg hack 'n slash with Disney characters. The boss strats are pretty mindblowing if you've played it before, and I can easily bring anyone unfamiliar with KH up to speed during the run. Critical mode makes it challenging since you could die at any moment. There are TONS of extra bosses to choose from for second stream, as well. If I had to list a con, it's that it's long and there are auto-scroller gummi missions, but I bet I could formulate a way to make these parts interesting. Tongue

Twitch unfortunately ate up my PB for KH2FM Crit, but I'll link the WR so you can get an idea of what it looks like.

PB: 4:06:35 WR: 4:05:25

Pretty much just like the above version, but it's on Beginner, so less challenge but also less deaths. I'm also much more familiar with this game, and I can literally guarantee a sub 4:10 run of this game. The reason I put it second is because Noizeeh did it last year, so I feel like a repeat would be sort of boring to do.

Yes, this is a flash game. But yes, this is awesome. It's a minimalist metroidvania game in a very chill atmosphere, and it's cool to speedrun because we found tricks and glitches that make it fun to watch.
I can also offer 2 things that get along with this game : The developer agreed to have a skype call during my run, so he can do some commentaries about technical stuff and maybe why this trick or this glitch can happen. Also, the game I will play is the "Full version", but the game started as a Ludum Dare Jam, and this prequel is also available and I am 1 second behind the WR with a time of 3:39. So, we can put this Ludum Dare version as an incentive. (That's also why I  put the estimate so high)

It's Amnesia. Very few games are done almost entirely out of bounds but this game's engine is just broken. A bidding war between any% and aggripa% is always a good choice. There's some inconsistency with a few tricks on my part but I could either try to be more consistent or just use save warping.

I love this game and especially this category. While a 2D Mario Platformer at 100% sounds long, tedious and boring, New Super Mario Bros. U colorful level design altogether with the amount of tricks and strats you can pull off with the versatile and game-exclusive Acorn-Suit powerup make this speedrun a marvel to watch. There are little to no downtimes since you're going straight from level to level. I've been improving on this speedrun restlessly from the beginnings of the first WR at 4:23:00 from a year ago, having found new strats that make even a sub 3:25:00 run now possible, which I am now practicing for full game runs for to eventually achieve. This speedrun has also been in a couple Online Marathons in the last year and had always experienced a rise in viewership over the course of it.
Donation incentive could be to "Save all Yoshi's" or "Kill all Yoshi's" bidding war (A hommage to Save or Kill the animals from Super Metroid, Save all Yoshi's would be to bring every Yoshi picked up in a level with me to the finish line, killing them would be to toss them into a bottomless pit prior to the end of the level)

2. Final Fantasy XIII-2 (PS3 - NTSC-U) - Any%
Estimate: 3:45:00
Personal best: 3:13:42 (WR, normal route), 3:38:29 (WR, no monster allies route)
Fastest Known Time: 3:13:42 as of 02/05/2014
Comments:
Offers various donation incentives (normal route or no monster allies rote, choice of costumes) and due to Cutscene Skipping there's little downtime between gameplay segments.
If it would make it into the schedule, I would prefer to race it with other 13-2 runners that will be attending ESA (so various routes could be shown in direct comparison).

3. Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII (PS3 - NTSC-J) - Any%
Estimate: 3:15:00
Personal best: n/A
Fastest Known Time: 2:44:56
Comments:
I will learn this speedrun the day this submission goes up and intend to improve on my time shortly after.
This suggestion should only be considered as a race with Neviutz, since he'd do a better job than me if this game makes it into the schedule solo.

4. Final Fantasy XIII (PS3 - PAL) - Any%
Estimate: 6:20:00
Personal best: 5:59:05
Fastest Known Time: 5:36:30
Comments:
Has been one of the more successful FF games ran at the first Crystals for Life and also has little to no downtime between gameplay due to Cutscene Skipping.
The speedrun of FF13 is the hardest of the trilogy in terms of overall difficulty of the run.

5. Nitronic Rush (PC) - Hardcore Levels
Estimate: 20:00
Personal Best: 14:28
Fastest Known Time: 12:37
Comments:
Possible game to run if there's a PC or Racing Block at ESA or possible bonus stream material.
Nitronic Rush is a very cool looking survival racing game with fun gameplay and stage design and deserves bigger exposure/attention and the speedrun of it is very execution heavy and exhilarating.
Donation incentives could be a Story Mode speedrun, exhibiting the Gladiator Out of Bounds path or vehicle choices.

I pretty much don't have videos of my own runs for any of these games, but I can try to get some recorded within the coming weeks. Or are you also looking for non-speedrun gameplay videos to look at? I'll also be streaming most if not all of it, so...

1. Bionic Commando Rearmed - Normal, 100%
Estimate: 1:20:00
Personal best: 1:07:14,78
Console: Xbox 360 (PAL but doesn't make any difference)
It's Bionic Commando, so it's nonstop awesome grappling hook awesomeness! Having done any% on two marathons, it's time for the full tour. Even if the tunnel stages and trucks still tend to troll me hard. Don't actually have a full 100% run recorded yet, as my recording attempts have been for the any% and I'm still trying to figure out a few things wtr to the 100%. But I can probably have one soon.

2. Ufouria: The Saga - 100%
Estimate: 00:55:00
Personal best: 00:47:03,78
Console: NES (PAL)
100% on ESA2012, any% on ESA2013, back with a hopefully improved 100% on ESA2014. I've made a number of finds since my 2012 run, some thanks to the "new" TAS, and a 100% consistent way of doing the light switch skip. Hoping to have a run of this submitted to SDA as soon as possible, but given university I might not have the time for Serious Recording Attempts™ until June. The occasional practice run, of course, is a different story.

3. Mega Pony - 20% cooler (aka Rainbow Dash any%)
Estimate: 00:40:00
Personal best: 00:31:40,72
Console: PC
My attempts to get a pony game into a marathon continues. But please judge it on its merits as a proper game and not just for being ponies. A Mega Man/ponies fangame. The category I run is with one of the six bonus characters, because it's much more fast-paced and exciting to run (and I'm reasonably sure more entertaining to watch) than the regular character. Also has an absolutely fantastic soundtrack. Potential donation incentive could be to do a boss rush with another character.
Video of a run that went half well here

While I'm technically fine with the second stream for anything I suggest, the games above this line are the games I most want to do, and as such really want to do them on the main stream. For the following, I don't really care as such.

4. Ragnarok Battle Offline - New Game any%, F-Swordman
Estimate: 1:45:00
Personal best: 1:31:59,25
Console: PC
Let's try submitting this again. One of the best doujin games ever made, amazing sidescrolling action game with RPG elements based on the MMORPG Ragnarok Online. Female Swordman is the only character I feel is safe for a New Game run, especially given one of the bosses.
Gameplay (not me playing, not a speedrun, and not quite the same character, but shows off what the game is like)

5. Little Samson - Easy with warps
Estimate: 00:20:00
Personal best: 00:15:07,8
Console: NES (PAL)
Short, sweet, and great! And this year I think I'll stick to the warped category because fuck the Ice Castle forever

6. Umihara Kawase - Shortest path or Longest path.
Estimate: 0:10:00 for shortest and 0:25:00 for longest
Personal best: Don't have any times, but under four minutes for shortest and I think around 15-20 minutes for longest. This will be updated when I have concrete numbers.
Console: NDS
More grappling action. This time featuring fish walking around.

7. Bionic Commando Rearmed 2 - any%
Estimate: 1:35:00
Personal best: 1:21:41,36
Console: X360 (again, PAL but it shouldn't matter)
Even more grappling action, this time featuring collecting items on the other side of solid walls and grappling straight down through the floor.
My world record run of one stage on Youtube (I currently hold the WR on two stages, but I'm starting to suspect most of the World's Best Times were done on Casual difficulty as the game doesn't track times for different difficulties separately and I always play on Normal)

8. Figment - any%, Aranha
Estimate: 0:15:00
Personal best: 0:07:21,58
Console: X360 (PAL as usual)
A nice, short platformer on Xbox Live Indie Games. Needs to be noted, but I assume it's no problem - to play XBLIGs, the X360 needs to be connected to Live. Has two characters of which one is fantastic and the other sucks in every possible conceivable way.

9. Duo Princess - any%
Estimate: 0:20:00
Personal best: 15:17,77 in wsplit, but didn't I get sub-15 when I played it at ESA2012? Huh.
Console: PC
This really only has one new trick, but hey. Actually, what I'd really want to do is a co-op run. Anyone interested? Cheesy

10. Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game - any%, Ramona Flowers
Estimate: 1:05:00
Personal best: 00:56:00,10
Console: X360
I considered letting this game rest this year but decided that what the hell I'll just put it here. It's still a great game that's fun to run so why not?

And anything below this line is pretty much secondary stream fodder if the second stream does become a thing and some things to fill it out with is wanted.

11. Seeds of Ralark - any%
Estimate: 0:05:00
Personal best: 0:02:57,52
Console: X360
Grappling hook XBLIG except you're a lizard so the grappling hook is your tongue. Currently in the process of trying to actually get a sub-3 minute run recorded since the developer contacted me and wanted to feature a speedrun on their Facebook page.

12. Uncraft Me! - All stages
Estimate: 0:20:00
Personal best: 00:13:57,94 (take it with a grain of salt as I've only really done one wsplit timed run)
Console: X360
Jetpack blocky graphics XBLIG platformer with boobs. Or kittens. But only in the background. Surprisingly good for what it is.

13. Uncraft Me 2 - All stages
Estimate: 0:20:00
Personal best: N/A (because I'm still working on it)
Console: X360
See above. Minus the kittens.

You know what that's enough.

1. One Unit Whole Blood - All Missions
Estimate: 01:00:00
Personal best: 00:46:47
Console: PC
Link: www.twitch.tv/armaaaa/c/3570322
Fast paced fps game with not that many bugs, just basic execution, movement and lots of tricks.
There is a total of 5 episodes where each episode has 9 missions, except the first episode which has 8. Secret levels are included in the run to give some variety in levels thru the run.
Also at the end, i can show how the mysterious protagonist looks like (his name is Caleb) and i can also show a variety of minigames which are interactive at the carneval, E1M4.
NOTE:
The route in the video i posted is a bit outdated now since new stuff have been found out and there isnt a full vod of the new route yet, just segmented stuff on youtube posted by a fellow speedrunner.
The new route can be checked at http://www.youtube.com/channel/UCEwfl6ZMXC-8pCz0Qj62xAA. I didnt have time to make a run on the newest route yet and stream it, it will be done in a next week or two.

Hi, I'm Joka! Here are my suggestions, in order of importance:

1-2. Mega Man 8 - Any% (possible donations for cutscene%)
Estimate: 1:10:00
Personal best: 0:55:11
Fastest known time: 0:52:06
Console: PS1, but will play on PS2

Probably the least liked of all the classic Mega Man games Tongue But I don't know why.
I like it. The voice acting, the cutscenes, the music and the gimmicky stages (jump jump, slide slide!). Also, the ball-jumps makes this a quite interesting speedrun to watch.

1-2. Rockman & Forte - Rockman%
Estimate: 0:50:00
Personal best: 0:38:09
Fastest known time: 0:38:09
Console: SNES (SFC)

The hardest classic Mega Man game, which I ran this year (quite unexpectedly) at AGDQ. Cool zips, hard platforming, clutch boss fights. I sort of want revenge on some of the tricks in my AGDQ-run.
Special note: I don't want to play both MM8 and RM&F. So please either pick one or make it a bidwar or something.

3. Chip 'N Dale - Any%/All Zones co-op with Nudua
Estimate: 0:20:00
Personal best: -
Fastest known time: 9:35 for Any% (cyghfer and blechy), no time for All zones
Console: N E S

Ch-ch-ch-Chip 'N Dale's, Rescue Rangers, Ch-ch-ch-Chip 'N Dale, When there's danger,
No, No, it never fails, Once they're involved, Somehow whatever's wrong gets solved!

Me and Nudua have been talking about this and are confident we can put something together, as long as we don't put this in the first few days of the marathon.

4. Mega Man III (GB) - Any%
Estimate: 0:45:00
Personal best: 0:39:22
Fastest known time: 0:30:42 (unverified, no video)
Console: Game Boy (will play on a Super Game Boy 2)

I haven't put much time into this yet, but it's a really awesome game. It's probably the hardest of the Mega Man GB games and has the infamous Dust Man stage, which has impossible jump after impossible jump, even in a casual playthough.
There aren't actually any videos of any RTA:s of this game, that I've found (which is strange, because there are for all other Mega Man GB games). The best, claimed time is 30:42 by some japanese runner and I think a low 3x:xx time would be my goal, but I need to route this out completely first.

Link: www.youtube.com/watch?v=zmO9zZSpvsQ&t=12s (since there are no recorded runs, I choose to link this :P)

5. Bubble Ghost - Any% or All rooms%
Estimate: 0:15:00
Personal best: 0:13:47 (semi-blind playthrough :P)
Fastest known time: ?
Console: Game Boy (will play on a Super Game Boy 2)

One of my favorite games as a kid and the first game I ever bought myself Smiley
Very cute and simple game that I like to show people. You're a ghost that escorts a bubble through some very dangerous rooms by blowing on it. What more can I say?

Link: www.twitch.tv/jokaah/c/3586342

6. Mega Man 10 - Proto Man%
Estimate: 0:45:00
Personal best: 0:38:xx
Fastest known time: 0:38:xx
Console: Wii

I think everyone knows Mega Man 10 - fast weapon switching, amazing weapons (thunder wool!), great music, awesome level design, has been in almost every *GDQ, etc etc..
What makes Proto Man special? He can slide and has a charge shot, but also takes double damage from everything, which changes things drastically! He also, for some reason, has a shorter arm than Mega Man... which actually means he can't buster Pump Man! So the boss route for Proto Man is also different.
No one has really worked on this run yet and the time should definitely be faster than Mega Man's time (35:14).

1. Super Monkey Ball 2 - Expert
Estimate: 00:25:00
Personal best: 17:26 (WR is 17:05)
Console: Gamecube or Nintendo Wii (NTSC region)

Platform puzzle game, it's a succession of individual levels with a unique strategy for each of them. There are no glitch here, this run is pure execution. However most of the stages feature very interesting skips. Some movement tricks are used to gain speed at the beginning of a level (frame-boost, wall-boost), pause buffering is also used in a few stages. This category has been run by a bunch of runners for months and the level of optimization makes it now a very entertaining run to watch.

1. Portal 1 - Inbounds, race with Wakecold.
Estimate: 20:00
Personal best: 15:26
Console: PC
Portal is a "first-person puzzle-platform" most people should know what this game is since it's quite popular but incase you don't: "The game primarily comprises a series of puzzles that must be solved by teleporting the player's character and simple objects using "the Aperture Science Handheld Portal Device", a device that can create inter-spatial portals between two flat planes."
The speedrun itself is really nice, it's a short game but has some really nice tricks that makes it a really nice watch.

2. Portal 2 - Any%
Estimate: 1:45:00
Personal best: 1:28:43
Console: PC
Portal 2 doesn't really have a lot of cool things like Portal 1 in my opinion but it's still a pretty neat speedgame.

3. Portal 2 - Co-op with D4rw1N
Estimate: 1:10:00
Personal best: 47:00
Console: PC
S and Darwin did a run last year, but I still feel like Portal 2 coop is really neat to watch since there isn't really any waiting at all in this category.

Edit: For Portal 2 any% I feel like I won't do good enough anyway like Znernicus did at AGDQ2013 so I'd rather have it cut and other people have their run in the schedule.

Estimate: 15:00
Personal best: Around 11:30 (not done a proper recording yet)
Fastest known time : 11:28
Console: GameCube (through GB Player)
One of the Famicom classics, released in 1986 in Japan only and to my knowledge it has never been ran at a marathon before. Reminds a bit of the first Zelda game but is purely action. It is basically made for speedrunning with no cutscenes and relatively little rng, but still enough to matter. And the story - aliens invading Edo Japan - is too good to turn down! I will also be able to commentate myself during the run, there's a lot of things to cover during the short run though, haha.

1. The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass
Estimate: 3:45:00
Personal best: 3:28:40 (SDA timing, which is roughly 3:28:53 ZSR timing)
Console: DS
A DS classic, and also to many players of the newer generation their first Zelda game. The game is notorious for introducing a master temple which was pretty flawed in game design as it required going through the first set of basement floors 3 times. It has a few neat tricks and an interesting speed run route that is different to a casual playthrough. The only con is that A Link Between Worlds recently came out and the reception for both general and speed running is better due to the fast pace nature of the game, but Phantom Hourglass speed running is pretty obscure which makes it interesting for nearly any viewer who have the patience to watch this run

2. 3DS Shinobi - Beginner
Estimate: 1h:05m
Personal best: 1h:03m (First RTA attempt)
Console: 3DS

A modern 2D style Shinobi game, using Shinobi 3 as a template. Griptonite made a brand new game using modern elements including Kunai refill, combos, variety of sword attacks and even parries. The run will be done on beginner to avoid bad marathon luck as it gives the player infinite lives (I'm not bad at the game, some involve death abuse to re-use magic and having an unintentional death/game over on normal -> harder is pretty bad).

Link: A segmented Stage 1 run example done on normal -www.youtube.com/watch?v=hAgWuTuQD70

3. Gunman Clive
Estimate: 25 minutes
Personal best: 18m 03s (RTA)
Console: 3DS

A notable download only game that had bigger success on the 3DS than other popular downloadable devices even surpassing combined sales on both iOS and Android. A straight forward platformer that uses elements from other franchises, most notably Mega Man. 20 stages as Gunman Clive.

Link: All ILs runs video - www.youtube.com/watch?v=8F-Ux89jUBM

4. New Super Mario Brothers 2 - Warpless or Warps
Estimate: 33 Minutes Warps, 1 hour 5 minutes for warpless.
Personal best: 27:00 minutes for Warps run (World record and is hopefully published on SDA soon),
I think it was roughly 1 hour PB for warpless but it's easily improvable.
Console: 3DS

Despite being the weakest NSMB entry in terms of critics, speed running is pretty positive as it has little to no luck and requires good execution.  The two routes are completely different as the Warps route uses Worlds, 1, Mushroom, Flower and 6 while the warpless route uses worlds 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6.

-----------------------
Yes I will be bringing in both my modified NDS and 3DS. The 3DS is EUR so it can't play NTSC-U/NTSC-J 3DS games.
For other things I'll bring in the Master System version of Streets of Rage 2 which is more suited as game for bonus stream/gaming rooms for lols.

1. Grand Theft Auto III - any%
Estimate: 01:30:00
Personal best: 1:14:46 also current WR
Console: PC
Grand Theft Auto is a fairly popular series and in my opinion GTA III has the most intense route and tricks out of III, Vice City and San Andreas. Since in the last few weeks/month there was a pretty big change in strats i would like show this off and demonstrate whats possible. This run has a very huge amount of percise driving, flying and shooting and has pretty much no boring parts like autoscrollers.

Another great GTA game. In my opinion not quite as spectacular as III but still a very neat run that has a few glitches and percision tricks. I am aware that at the moment i am nearly 5 min away from the current WR but thats mostly due to the fact that my run is fairly old and does not include the newest strats. I am also up for a race of this game against someone.

3. Grand Theft Auto San Andreas - any%
Estimate: 6:15:00
Personal best: 9:xx:xx atm
Console: PC
So far i have only done this game in races but i am thinking about starting to learn and grind it a bit. If i am motivated enough and get good enough i would like to take part in the GTA San Andreas race if that is going to happen.

4. Grand Theft Auto Vice City - Bingo
Estimate: depends on the table and single or double Bingo goes from 1:00:00 up to 3:00:00 or more
Personal best: ----
Console: PC
The GTA community created a Bingo game for Vice City with a lot of diffrent and intresting goals that otherwise would never come up in a any% run and some not even in the 100% run. This makes this a really fun category to play and watch especially when you race this with 2-4 people. This might be a good thing for the 2nd stream depending on what you guys are looking for.

5. Rock Band - Full Band (Guitar, Bass or singing for torture)
Estimate: None
Personal best: None
Console: XBOX 360
hoping onto Pipes game suggestion here. I would love to be part in one of the bands. Even if i cant participate i hope this game will happen Smiley

1. Resident Evil 4 - New Game+ Professional
Estimate: 1:55:00
Personal best: 1:44:40 (WR)
Console: Nintendo Gamecube (PAL)
RE4 has been very popular in the past which was proven by ESA and AGDQ. RE4 NG+ is very fast paced and offers many glitches to play with. Theenglishman opened up the way for us RE4 speedrunners thanks to AGDQ 2012.

Pro: Many viewers enquired a New Game+ speedrun without the P.R.L. 412 and Ashleys knight costume becuase the speedruns seems so easy with that equipment. To make it even more entertaining, I decided to do that on PRO difficulty so difficulty adjustment does not matter either. This would be the first time that someone does that category in a marathon. The majority of the world-wide RE4 community is playing New Game+.
Contra: New Game+ for some viewers of course. New Game is very slow-paced, does NOT contain more risk and more boring to watch/play though. There is not too much risk involved in RE4 SS runs because you cant control the RNG and need safer strats because of it.

All of the needed videos can be found here: including my AGDQ, ESA and World Record Runs.

1. Megaman Network Transmission - Any% Good Ending
Estimate: 1:25:00
Personal best: -
Console: Gamecube or Wii (NTSC)
A unique Megaman game that is a mix of classic Megaman and Battle Network. The game itself plays like a classic Megaman games and even includes several elements and enemies from Megaman 1 stages, but also includes weapons (Battle chips) from the Battle Network series. The game is very challenging, even if you play it casually. It has an amazing soundtrack. And most importantly, it's entertaining.
The run does not include any glitches, but the ability to Double Jump early will skip many parts of stages. Biggest skip is on Swordman's stage when you can skip half the level right at the start. At the start of every level the game will give you 5 random Battle chips to attack with, making RNG a constant element to either save or lose time. However the player also has the ability to control what at least one of these chips is going to be, therefore making the RNG to be less important. For most stages Double Jump is the chosen battle chip. The difference between Good and Bad ending is whether Zero lives or dies near the end. Getting the good ending only takes about 5 minutes extra.

I do not have a good recorded run yet, so I will link the current World Record by doicm. My goal is to at least get 1:10:00 in my marathon run.

2. Power Blade - Any%
Estimate: 00:30:00
Personal best: 00:18:49
Console: NES (NTSC)
You have seen this game at the last two ESA's, but now I have added two more wallclips to my route. The game also has a new world record holder which I intend to race. If you liked this game at previous ESA's I can guarantee this year will be even better. 4 bosses still die before they spawn.
Sadly I lost the VOD of my current PB, but it was a race on SRL so the time is there at least. Instead I will link my previous PB run with a time of 19:03.

3. Shadowgate - Any% Glitched
Estimate: 00:15:00
Personal best: 00:12:41
Console: NES (NTSC)
I have not done any runs of this since last ESA, but I will gladly sign this up again. Can be a race or solo run depending on if Niss3 wants to play. The glitches used will be the same as last year with me manipulating RAM addresses by picking up specific items and then duplicating items and create items in my inventory to beat the game a lot faster. Really good for graveyard shifts.

1. Digimon World - Any% (Glitchless)
Estimate:2:00:00
Personal Best: 1:38:10
World Record: 1:38:10 (http://www.twitch.tv/blackwin5/c/3767850)
Console: NTSC-U PS2
Comment: Digimon World was every child´s nightmare. Due to the mechanics involved in evolving your Digimon, many people who played this game failed to ever finish it. On top of that, the PAL-version of the game had a horrible bug that even if you managed to get a good Digimon you were still screwed. With all that being said, the Digimon World speed-run in its current form is a redemption for all the bad childhood memories of getting bad Digimon or getting screwed over by the bugs.

Digimon World is a very solid marathon game. Yes, it has RNG elements - none of them can actually kill a run (here an example of a sub2 hour run using the weakest attack your Digimon can use: http://www.twitch.tv/sparsie/c/3607131). The route changed drastically over the past year and turned a run that people thought would be segmented only into a solid consistently sub 2 hour run (here is the SDA thread that shows the evolution of the run: https://forum.speeddemosarchive.com/post/digimon_world_speedrun_343.html).

2.Digimon World PAL%
I withdraw the PAL% submission. After attempting a few runs i can´t finish it without very good RNG in any reasonable timespan.

Yu-Gi-Oh! The Sacred Cards - Any%
Estimate: 1:20:00
Personal Best: 58:11 [WR] http://www.twitch.tv/randomdigimonfan/c/3827969
Comment: Probably the best Yu-Gi-Oh! Game for speedrunning purposes. Its very fast paced and is very easy to understand for the viewer. Due to some routechanges it actually evolved into a fairly consistent run. Eventhough rng plays a role it can not kill the run(even if you lose a duel to bad RNG you wont lose much more time then dueltime+40 seconds). This submission would be a race between me and gcah2006. We actually both got a copy of the game but no gc/gameboyplayer. So if that could not be provided otherwise this submission can be ignored. gcah2006 has a pb of 1:00:30 http://www.twitch.tv/gcah2013dotr/c/3828097.

Edit:
Quote from gcah2006:
Also possible is a race versus BlackWin5 (www.twitch.tv/blackwin5). He is my main source of conversation regarding routing and strategies and has a PB of 1:31:16 in Any%. This is largely based on outdated strategies and would easily sub 1:25 if he chose to run the game outside of races.

I would be honored to race you british gentleman.
