EDIT: if I do get hotel or something instead, then would it affect anything or do I only need to pay the half the price?

Please read the opening post.

Edit: Updated OP.
$15 per rant/allegory
Your info is all over the place. You say it's based on €10 a day then charge 10 days worth for those who are there for four.

You're also saying that it's per night in some places and per day in others.

Can you just clean it all up so there's no ambiguity.

Cleaned it up the night / day part.

The price model is as I explained based to favor those staying all days. But also fair for those staying just a couple of days. Since we need to rent the whole place or nothing, this is our only option. And we are not charing anyone who is staying 4 days the the whole full 900 SEK.

Ozzy, your avatar so doesn't fit your statement o.o''
The main post says that the whole event is 9 days but isn't it 10 days? From 14th - 23rd? I was wondering if the final night at House of Culture is the 22nd or 23rd? As we plan to leave on 24th. Finally is it 900SEK for the whole stay?

It's 9 full [24 hour cycles], 10 weekdays. If that explains it? Smiley WTF is "dygn" translated into english!?
First night is the night between the 14th and 15th. The final night is the 23rd and 24th.
Thanks for answering my questions Edenal Smiley

That's fine. Josh(imuz) and I plan to come for the whole duration, set up and bonus days included.
As we can't afford a hotel we plan to stay at the provided accommodation (despite my dislike of being in one room with a ton of guys :P)
Therefore technically sign us up and we'll pay when we can by whenever the set date was.
We're trying to organise everything else at the moment and sort out affording flights etc.

As far as I'm aware due to help from numerous people:
Norwegian are the best to fly with
Gatwick the best London airport to use
Stockholm the best Swedish airport to use

Would you agree? I'm nervous about getting the train once in Sweden but I'm hoping we'll be fine :')

I badly disagree … I've flown out of both Heathrow and Gatwick numerous times and I cannot say one airport being superior to another or not. Also, I would say Finnair are the best airline, but I don't know Norwegian (and it depends on your standard of what is 'the best') Wink
Well it doesn't really matter what airport we use its just when I looked at train fare to London it would only cost £24 to go straight to Gatwick. Or maybe it was Heathrow I can't remember now xD We don't really want or need 'the best' as we're limited to money but yet we want to avoid Ryanair. Norwegian seem to be good with prices and were mentioned in the main post along with the better airlines to use.

So the 'best airline' would be one non-Ryanair yet still pretty inexpensive, while the 'best airports' would be those that you can get to quickest/cheapest?
I don't know if they do any direct flights your direction, but AirBerlin might be worth a check … otherwise what is written in the first post of the travel thread Wink

Flying into Gothenburg is best. From there it's only an hour by train to Skövde. There are also alot of guys traveling from Gothenburg that you guys can join.

Be careful when you fly to Stockholm. Really careful! Technically Skavsta Airport belong to Stockholm, but it's closer to Nyköping. And there are no easy ways for public transportation from there. Arlanda (The "real" Stockholm airport) on the otherhand is more expensive flying to, but trains and busses depart directly from there to Skövde. Gothenburg is the same story, there are 2 airport. City Airport and Landvetter, but they are both very close to the actual city and public transportation works very well in the area.
Oh really Edenal? Okay I'll look at tickets to Gothenburg instead then, might be cheaper which of course is better Smiley I just would of thought with Stockholm being the main city there would be better transport links.
Just wondering will there be a curfew for the House of Culture? Like do people have to arrive or be in by midnight or anything? Because I'm looking at flights right now and they are either at 8am or 8pm. The first option is no good because we need to be at the airport 3 hours early apparently and we can't get to London at like 5am or whatever. The second option means we either get to Skovde around midnight or there's a stop (usually at Copenhagen or Stockholm) where our connecting flight to Gothenburg isn't due until 10am the next day so we have 8 hours until then - for which what do we do? Can we stay at the airport or does it close and we get kicked out? We can't afford to stay at a hotel for that one night and we can't stay on the street Tongue

I suppose we will lock the doors to both ESA locations at night. But that doesn't mean you can't get in. Just let some people at ESA know that you are coming at around that time and there will be people ready to let you in. If you would like an escort from the train to any of the ESA locations that could probably also be arranged.

At the very least you should be able to call somebody. I guess we could have a list with some of our phone numbers in this thread so people know how to get in touch with us.

In any case, do remind us about your time of arrival a couple of weeks before the marathon and make sure that you get a response to it. (Would help if we got this from everybody!)
That would be great. I've done nothing but research for the past 6 hours or so and I feel like my head is about to explode. Not sure whether to go to Gothenburg or Stockholm. With Gothenburg the times are pretty bad for us - either really early or late. But if you say we can turn up late as long as we let someone know so we can be let in then that's fine. However I'm confused as to where the train station is at Gothenburg? With Stockholm (Arlanda) the prices and times are much better but the problem we have is that the trains from Stockholm to Skovde seem to stop at 5:30pm which is when we get there... bit of a weird time to stop so I have no idea how we would get to Skovde from Stockholm.

Alright, I don't know where exactly to put this, so I'll put it here.
I won't be able to come. My tax return still hasn't come (and I doubt it'll cover everything I need anyway), and my surgery/hospital bills are much higher than I anticipated, so I sadly don't have the financial capabilities to make it to Sweden.
Makes me feel bad cause I have about an hour with 3 games already on the schedule. I'm very sorry about screwing things up.

As a weak consolation, I'll spread the word and hopefully will get you a few viewers from the local esports and FG scenes, as well as some other communities I'm in.
And of course, I'll try to make it next year.
