hey,

i'm getting slow download speeds on many runs as they are only on the US server (i'm in UK).

when will majority of the runs be uploaded to the EU servers as it's near impossible to download a run even on low quality in under 12hrs at the mo

thx
Thread title:
I'm addicted to games
Nothing from the past 9 months has been added to the eu servers due to some problems archive had. I have no idea if it will ever be resolved.
so what do the eu people do? we're just fucked?
slow.. sometimes..

I live in Finland and sometimes the speed is over 100 kb/s. And that's good. But sometimes (this happens more often) the speed is something like 12 kb/s..

Usually I just leave the computer alone and do something else. Or post to the forum. But I don't think we're getting fucked..

Maybe download a download manager that can split a file into multiple connections. Flashget can do this.

I downloaded the new Red Faction run with 10 connections, and got a speed of 250 kb/s. Then I tried with the usual windows right-click-save-as and got 50 kb/s. So it definitely works.

the speed of the archive servers is thought to be comparable from almost anywhere in the world. everyone here behind the scenes thinks of us servers as "slow" servers and eu servers as "fast" servers, even though both of us are in the us. material not present on eu servers will absolutely be given priority to benefit from the new hosting.

TIOLET!
I've tried most stuff by now, HTTP links, FTP links, different number of downloads in progress, DMs and nothing has made any difference so far except the time of the day when I download. Ok, enough whine from me now  Grin
Speed is the key.
I'm always getting top speed from here (Sweden), maybe I'm just downloading the 'right' files?

Well, it's not too fast, 512 kb/s, so my max is about 60 kb/s when downloading. I hope I get faster soon, even here in the northern part of Sweden I can get a 10MB connection.

Thanks.  8)
with a download accelerator for us =100kb/sec tops

with a download accelerator for eu = 1200kb/sec

I hope this does get resolved, i loved the download speeds  Cry

Shocked Man.. You have a uber connection.
if he means kbaud (little b; kilobits per second), that's nothing. i can get 4000 at home and 10000 at work.

no, i mean bytes, i have a 10mb connection and can usually get 11000-12000 kilobits per second when using a broadband tester, one for the uk, like the zdnet one.

ok... testing on zdnet it said:

Your line speed:

25500 Kbps

3125 K bytes/sec

ok that's a bit high, but you catch the drift Tongue
