European Speedster Assembly 2015 is a speedrunning centered community meetup and marathon. The doors are open from the afternoon of June 26th until noon July 7th. We will be using our own forums over at Speedrun.com so please check out our pages there! We are posting this thread here at SDA to let you all know about the situation. We will be keeping everything up to date in this thread both here and on speedrun.com.

This thread serves to collect all key information and threads into one place.

Even though I'm not going to ESA, it can't help but wonder why it is still being held in Skövde. I imagine it was originally held there because of its association with Ludendi, but since you've declared independence doesn't it make sense to look into a more accessible location or a cheaper country? Idk where Grukk is from, but of the first four organizers, only Edenal lives in Sweden. It can't be a convenience thing at this point.

Just wondering. There is perhaps a simple explanation, but if you are looking to grow, it might not be a bad thing to consider a different city. Good luck! ^_^

Totally rad

Though ESA will eventually outgrow Skövde, right now it's still a very convenient city to hold the event in. The venue is very cheap, and the crew has experience with holding the event there. Everything (supermarkets, restaurants) is within walking distance from the venue, too, while being considerably cheaper than the big cities. The city itself is actually very reachable as well, since there are direct, cheap connections from, for instance, Gothenburg. I remember thinking it was awkward at first as well, but after actually going there, it turned out to be surprisingly easy and convenient. ESA will almost surely move cities, but we'll all be invading Skövde once again this year.
