This little trick I found allows you to collect Petetronic's Disc before triggering the intro cutscene and the fight.
However I have not found a way to proceed from this.. read more below.

How this works:
There is a cylinder shaped force field shielding the Disc at all times, until Petetronic is defeated or befriended, which will knock you back if you approach it.
However, performing a spin-attack makes Mickey invincible to knockbacks for a brief moment.
From experience I have learned that simply jumping into the force field with a spin-attack won't get you as close to the disc as you need to be for this to work. I have also learned that the force field can be jumped over, meaning it is not endlessly high..
The way to do it is by using the pillars surrounding the platform. The 3 pillars next to eachother with increasing heights has the most tallest pillar, allowing you to get very high up in the air.

Double-jump onto the shortest pillar, then to the tallest pillar, and then double-jump towards the force field and spin at the precise time you hit it.
If performed PERFECT, you will land directly on the disc and collect it, and then get knocked back out of the field.
If performed only "good enough" (like in the video) you will end up on the same platform as the disc, but not collect it.
Now there is a very, very brief moment (maybe frame perfect) where you can perform a spin-attack before getting knocked back, after Mickey has got up from the fall.
Holding forward and successfully performing the spin-attack should get you close enough to the disc for you to get it.

The problem now is that the force field does NOT disappear, but will stay there until you have beaten Petetronic.
You can use the same trick as before to get very close to the screen, but Mickey needs to be perfectly still to enter a screen..
In the video I am standing close to the screen and spamming A but nothing happens.. and I have tried many times before to maybe see an 'A' indicator near the screen, showing that you can press the A button to enter, but no success..
I think the screen is deactivated and cannot be entered at all without fighting the boss..

Maybe someone can pick this up in an emulator and try some stuff.. it is veeeeeeery tideous to try on console..

(Camera gets out of focus just as I nail it...)

A nice shortcut during the Loss Tower bit.
One TV sketch is required so, planning ahead is vital.
The gremling in Tomorrow Square, near the first TV spot, will give you one of each sketch if you free him during the bloticle tentacles part, which can be saved for this occasion.
The jump is very easy to do, there are only a few things to think of:
First you need to stand on the higher part of the bridge, and during the jump you should aim for the edges of the TV since the top of it is curved (making the high point in the middle).
From the TV you simply jump up and grab the ledge of the balcony. It is possible to trigger the mini-cutscene without grabbing the ledge which will kill you..

This skips one lap around the tower plus one of the rooms containing enemies!

I found a way to get around the Captain Hook intro cutscene trigger!
Using this you can successfully get to the sprite without triggering the intro cutscene at all.
However there are other flags and triggers that need to be avoided for this to work (since the game is programmed to be played in a very linear way sometimes >_>)

First it checks wether you have boarded the first life boat. As you touch the 1st lifeboat, the plank of the ship will be readied for you to climb on to. (as if hook is spinning the gear next to the plank)
However if you damage-boost your way past the 1st boat and straight to the 2nd boat, the plank (and fence) will not be ready.
Triggering this will also trigger an invisible wall around the ship to be higher than you can jump over.
So by NOT landing on the 1st boat, the invisible wall will still be there but not higher than you can jump, making it possible to jump over.
However, simply jumping over this invisible wall will still trigger the intro cutscene.
The way to get around this is by LANDING on top of the short invisible wall, and then double-jump up to the higher area (upstairs).

From here you can either continue the puzzle up to the sprite (with invisible enemies, because of the glitch) which is probably what this glitch will be used for in a speedrun, if it is faster.
Or you can do what I do, jump down to the Hook fight again.

Because of the glitches, Captain Hook will also be invisible and will not be able to hurt you. Hook will sit in the top barrel and can knock you back if you approach him.
How to make him appear is by thinning the leftmost barrel and wait for it to respawn, with Hook inside it.

Now, if you ever thin and attack Hook while he is in the rightmost (lowest) barrel, you will be auto-transported below the intro cutscene (which happens in the movie).
Crossing the trigger will surely enough spawn the real Captain Hook, making a total of 2 Hooks on the ship Cheesy

I tried some other stuff off-camera, like killing the fake Hook and wait for the screen to appear and THEN spawn the real hook.
Since that was possible I am guessing that you can complete the "rescue sprite" quest AND the "defeat hook" quest in the same game!

Oh yeah, the fake Hook killed me during the real hook late cutscene, and when I respawned I couldn't move because of the glitch.

edit:
Further testing have told me that if you kill the fake hook and then the real hook, the game will freeze (you cannot control Mickey after this).

Fastest strat for the hippo ride or not?

Safest but 2nd fastest strat for a speedrun.
