What about extra commentary? for certain games? etc, out of curiosity, ..

I just wanna blabber during KH2 hahahahah
Hello,  I think Lenophis may have contacted you about me doing Super Metroid 100% for your charity.  Let me know when and where and it'll be done.  A safe estimate would be 1:30 - 1:40 or so.
HELLO!

I imagine that's up to the runner. I've gotten Inzult to volunteer for Zelda 2 commentary, and I'd love to get someone to help me with Zelda 1 commentary (though I imagine Inzult could fake it.)
Like I said in my original post if you want people to commentate on your game let me know who they are before hand so we can send out the mumble details to them and so I know who will be coming into the server at certain points.

Regarding wanting to commentate on other people runs that is up to you to ask the runner if they don't mind. That one wouldn't be up to me. So if you did want to talk during KH2, Spike would be the one to ask. I am up for quite a few people in the channel when streaming because more people can be better until it gets to the point of too many people.

So yeah. I would say go ask the runners if they don't mind.
HELLO!
Well I've hit PBs in Zelda 1 Any% and Zelda 2 100% AK in recent days.  By the marathon I'll be in real fighting shape.
I guess I'll give a progress report...

- Goldeneye - I've been averaging no-fail 24 minute runs, which is pretty good. I'll probably fail one mission or two...hopefully not Control, that will push the time out! But yeah, this run is so up in the air. I'll make a good show though for sure!
- Alpha Protocol - Any% is a joke, I can fit that within 2:20 no sweat. All Missions will be a good show - looking forward to having to do it. *hint hint*
- James Bond 007 (Game Boy) - Another game that can rabidly screw me at a moments notice. Average time is about 55 minutes, well within my parameters. But again, should be a good show whatever happens. It's more of an "Awful Games Done Quick" contender, so to speak, but still - top game. Tongue

Don't worry if you go over, I'm after you, and my game should be hugely under the time limit

But yah for most of my games, I'm pretty good right now

I haven't been following the marathon planning, but I am hype for this.
Someone hype for my game.

Fixed that for ya. Cheesy

FF1 update: A few days ago I did a run with the worst marathon party imaginable that still let's me get within reach of the estimate. I ended up challenging my 1:46:49 run with it, and then it slowly tapered off. I forget to unequip the Survival Vests off my White Mage, and then Chaos promptly kills me. Would've been about a 1:50 real time. Two days ago, I did another practice run, this time with Fighter/White Mage/Thief/Thief, and I decided to throw in the class change since I wanted Haste. Class change was a 5-minute time sink, got kinda lucky in some spots. In the end, I was going to beat my 1:46:49 (by over 2 minutes) with that added diversion. However, once again I forgot to unequip the Survival Vests off my White Mage. Chaos again promptly kills me.

Moral of the story, save before Chaos! Unequip the Survival Vests, too!
I guess I'll give a little update on my games as well.

BioShock: I've absolutely lowered my time from when I offered to run the game. I've managed to beat the segmented run currently on SDA by about 6 minutes and can still save a bit more time. Before the marathon starts I'll be working on making sure I can make things more consistent and make the run more smooth. The current estimated time is severly overestimated (about 40 minutes) just to show how much things have changed.

Quantum Conundrum: I'm already fairly consistent at most the tricks for the run (even the harder ones), mainly need to work on my commentary. I have no doubt that this run will go over well, but I'll still be doing my fair share of practice just to be sure.

thank you very much sir Wink
HELLO!
Heh, had a Zelda 1 run where everything went wrong. Still under estimate. We'll be good.

So it seems like I cannot find anyone who can run Yoshi's Island as an ending game for the marathon. Does anyone have any suggestions to an ending game/can offer a game to end on?

Well, if kids/babies are going to be the theme, the Goonies comes to mind. However, I don't know who runs it. Maybe a small Mario/Luigi run of SMW/SMB? I dunno.

Oh yes, I was going to say this earlier but forgot...

If anyone wants to come on in to co-commentate during my runs, I'm glad to take anyone on... a bit of banter should make it fun - and I doubt there will be others who actually have knowledge of the games I run. (Except NMS for AP Tongue ... and Goldeneye of course.)
Hey fellow marathoners! I am in need of a time change for my run due to some work issues.  I'm doing BL2 at 6Am on Saturday and need to move my start time back by 1.5 hours. Anyone willing to swap around times to help out?
One  way would be to add another game in at 6am in your slot and put you after. This would put everyone else an 1:30+ onto their current start time. Would everyone be okay with this? (If we can get a game for about 1:30 run time)
90 minutes later is fine with me if it has to happen.

+1:30 should be okay but i don´t know what spikevegeta says

i can offer this solution

i can run blast corps any% (0:50 estimate) and bomberman 64 hard any% (0:40 estimate)

but 6 am is a little bit too late for me

what do you think about this

3:10 Blast Corps
4:00 Bomberman 64
4:40 Alpha Protocol
7:00 Super Meat Boy
7:30 Borderlands
....

but the problem is i can not stream sound soo i guess we should search for another solution
OK, I'm just putting it out there, but I agreed to my times because they suited me and because that's when I had time.

Especially on Sunday - I've got a lecture at 9am MOnday - and I just...need sleep. Moving my start time for James Bond to 10pm is just not cool...

Just putting it out there - but this is going to cause so many problems with scheduling. It's nothing personal Prof - but you've really stirred the nest! Tongue (I still do hope a solution is found - but for me personally - an hour and a half I cannot do.)

Also just putting this out there, if any switching DOES occur - I would suggest that everyone is sent PMs to ensure nothing goes down the toilet.

(That's a no thank you...)

Well if need be, we can change Resident Evil Operation Raccoon City with James Bond if need be, as I basically book that whole weekend off.
That could work Trushade...

Damn this is getting complicated! happy
I don't want to screw people around Sad

Softman, are you changing with TruShade for your start time?
Well if the entire thing goes forward 1:30 - then yeah, I'll swap.
The TrUest of Shades
yah if it goes foward, then i will switch with Softman
