Reading about it is confusing me.  So, I can input hdmi and then send out standard or side video composite one direction and hdmi in another?

It's looking like it only has one hdmi port, so I don't think I could get hdmi to my tv.  Which kind of defeats the purpose, if I'm right.  Plus, does this require a computer involved in the connection somewhere?

EDIT:  Those are all inputs right?  Does it have outputs other than USB, cuz I'm not interested in sending to my computer.  Also, I'm not seeing a way to send out audio, even if I use the hi-def component.  I would have to borrow the composite audio, so that's a maximum of one out signal, unless there are more ports I'm not seeing.
Fucking Weeaboo
HDMI I believe can be split with component, but not composite, since it's a difference of HD/SD.

If you don't want to get an HDMI capture card and your DVD recorder doesn't have HDMI or component input, then you'll have to split the S-Video.

Thanks for the straightforward answer.  Looks like i'm either going to have to spend a lot of money or put up with the fact that I'm not going to be getting high definition gaming, that can be recorded, beyond s-video.

Sad days.
I love SDA!
Thanks for the help everyone but it's still not working fully after using splitters.

I'm using 3 of the small gold three-way adaptors and connecting the console, dvd recorder and TV all together. It fixed the lag yes but it still wont start recording. It says "paused for no stable video, please check the connection". The timer starts but stays at 0:00:00 forever.

Does anyone know why this is or experienced something similar? I'm really losing my mind with this Tongue Thanks
you probably need a powered splitter.

be thankful the recorder refuses to start instead of recording desynced video like most of them do ...

Quote from Sir VG:
The console shouldn't matter.  The TV might, but generally most LCD TVs seem to be pretty good now about the lag issue.

Just a small question.
Is there any way this can be checked beforehand or is this related to some specific specifications? (like it's reaction time or something)

[edit] oh forgot one more thing: If theoretically he can display NES games without lag, would this then also be for the other older consoles?
Well, I use a Magnavox MWR10D6, and as far as I can tell it has no input lag at all whatsoever. It seems to be a fairly common DVD recorder (Jiano and ZFG also use it as far as I know) so you should ask other people about it as well IMO.

That link Nate provided did not have a list of dvd recorders.  Where is such a list in the KB?  I know there is a thread about the same thing, but I was curious what was listed on the KB.

EDIT:  Nevermind, found it.  Yikes, mine is on there?  Lol.  Yeah, I should never have mentioned that thing as lagless, if I ever did that.  It has like a half second lag.  Sucks for online play. Tongue

You might want to change it then...

[edit] oh it also has a link to hdtv lag... I guess I know how to test it.
[edit2] ok nvm I don't even have the required stuff for that...
