Hello there, you're propably wondering what's with my ranger run... well I decided to drop it mainly because of fatal bug which is: 'gathering exception data' stuff, so I can't load my saves... and I'll start new run - this time it will be party play, so it has to be more entertaining I guess... so, it's my plan:

1. Main hero - death mage (corrosive eruption + debilitation)
2. Lothar - tank
3. Deru - ranger (bow)
4. Eva - dual wield

Since my main hero will be death mage I think that nature mage isn't necessary - I know that with wrath of the bear I can give more dmg with criticals, but corrosive eruption is way better, and no worries about losing too much HP - ranger has good resistances and can harvest health potions, melee chars has good armor and death mage has vampirism... I think I will take most of decay armor or cripple later in the game Smiley I don't think there's any faster way... I will post videos when whole run will be completed (or maybe acts)... for now I have:

1. Siege of Greilyn Beach - 5:59
Thread title:
Ok guys, it's me again. Recently I've been thinking about this game, and I'm really not sure how to approach it.
I've gone as far to check in-game files and try to calculate monsters exp and compare with my exp points (so I can calculate how many monsters precisely I would need to kill). But - this game is too random. Sometimes monsters give more exp (they are 1 level higher), and their placement and numbers are pretty much random (of course they are pretty consistent more or less, but sometimes you just encounter big packs of them). From what I saw, if you skip some, you will get big pack sooner or later (good luck with vampiric monsters in the caverns).

Also, about party composition - I thought about maximum 3 party members (as for every party member there is 80% exp added, for fourth it's much less). Something like Wrath of the Bear to boost those criticals (but then - kind of wasted dps potential as nature mage - I will do machinegun crossbow anyway). Tried with dual crossbow, but then it was even slower I think. Also increased monster damage = deadly Vulks.

Only alternative class would be death mage - with fast casting of grave beam you can recharge orb power rather quickly (with curses it would be much faster). There are also nice tactics like using elemental fury and then brutal strike (for warrior) on bosses. When fighting bosses you can recharge powers through pedestals and then you get elemental fury added damage + 4200% or so added melee damage (well, but we're talking about mercenary, so it wouldn't be possible until like very end-game).

tl;dr
Should I solo and name it ranger run instead of any% speedrun (since we really don't know what would be the fastest, I'd need to finish the game countless times with different compositions). But considering I can fire crossbow about 6 time faster than normal, it would be safe to assume that ranger would be best?

If anyone is interested in this game at all, or maybe have some tips, feel free to post.

P.S
For now I will just play the game and practice stuff so I don't waste time, but might start recording when I buy some extra HDD, or delete junk from my current one.

https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLxOpY_d5ecTjS4zri5QOm-5Vzm_1wQx4V - if anyone interested here is first act of my ranger speedrun. I'm not sure if it looks interesting for people who are new to the game, or don't know it. Just running around and killing stuff.
Update:

https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLxOpY_d5ecTgLx6u_KnSKrXzRtZ1cYCAr - uploaded till Elven Shrine, but I have recorded already first act timed at 1:06:15 (25 minutes better than solo run).

I use there 2 rangers and Taar for buffs. Killing things goes pretty fast, but it's intense since I can easily get 2 shotted. First act consists also of some close fights wich lucky power recharge/level ups.
Also, I got my builds figured out pretty much, so it should go fine.. some heavy reloads in the caverns (Traask are just insane) and in the jungle (Vulks), but I managed. Luckily on the Azunite Desert I didn't encounter any spitting spiders, and they can and will ruin your day.. sometimes it's not even possible to dodge their projectiles. And of course, they happen to be near the end of rather long and difficult segment.

Anyway, I'm happy with the time and I doubt it's possible to shove off more than 2 minutes off this (I sometimes missed my power or wasted couple of seconds on occasions).. Act II in production, it will be possibly the hardest and the longest.. but I'm used to reloading all the time by now.
