Hey guys,

Same thing as before, so far I have better times - let's hope for better run this time!

Update (16.06.2013) - Act I completed - total time: 1 h 31 min. After I encode, I can make torrent, but it will be around 2,7 GB for act 1 (I don't think I'll run for submission, I don't have that much disk space for recording further and keep original files to make different quality renders. So I encode, then I delete original files and keep going. It will be on youtube so it's not really that big of a difference).

CURRENT STATUS - 14/14 uploaded.
--------------------> VIDEOS HERE<--------------------
Act I
1) 6:48 - Pretty straightforward.
2) 6:17 - Got gloves from Nature's Vigilance set (later on it gives nice bonuses). Getting some money along the way, finish at first teleporter.
3) 10:51 - Destroying all towers, getting chest and boots from the set. Also Haku cave went pretty well, just ran in - ran out. Small stupidness near second tower but time still almost minute lower than my previous run (I forgot to keep torch in my inventory, that mistake cost me about 2 seconds).
4) 2:01 - Return Morden Towers quest, get reward for secondary and followup.
5) 5:21 - Getting vial and ranger power.

I'm definitely interested Smiley

I might take a little break before recording Act II; maybe you have some suggestions concerning my playstyle or anything that could lead to improvement in the future? Comments would be appreciated Smiley
Update: Act 1 is uploaded on youtube. Enjoy, and comment Wink

I've watched the first 6 parts and it looks pretty good Smiley Some failed double power usages in part 6, though. By the way, how do you shoot so fast (I completely forgot how it worked...)?
So not for submission to SDA? Awww :/ You could perhaps also encode all the qualities and throw away the original file if the space is a problem.
Also, the cursor can't be captured in this game?
Yeah, I know about double power usage fails - I don't lose much time though - when I fail to attack second time I attack normally and fill power bar so I can use power earlier. It's not easy, because it doesn't work if you target enemy instead of terrain (you can't use power second time if you fail to press it's hotkey before the first one hits anything).

About fast shooting - it's about cancelling current animation, which can be achieved by moving or pressing 'stop current action' button. I use the latter; as soon as projectile comes out and you press hotkey, it will shoot another - it works also with long cast spells, even with melee. So I hold right-click on enemy and spam stop  button - it's important to have pointer exactly over the enemy, or it could not work.

I don't know if there's a way to capture mouse pointer, but I don't think it is. Maybe I could experiment with other capturing software (using Fraps atm). I remember using virtualdub with my previous run, maybe I'll make it work (had problem with sound this  time).

About SDA submission - do you think I could just re-encode current *.mp4 files? They are 1280x720 good quality encodes @ 50 fps, so I think I could make all the crappy quality files, but I don't think I could go Insane quality.

Anyhow, thanks for response. It's nice knowing someone is interested (especially there's no speedrun of this game). Let it keep me going Wink

You could try Open Broadcaster Software (OBS), that's a pretty good capturing program Smiley

I'm not sure, you could ask about it in the Tech Support section of the forum. I think it should be possible to do. If OBS works and can capture the mouse, maybe start the run over? Wink

Definitely keep going! I would like to see the whole game done fast. Seeing you busy with this run also makes me want to play the game again Smiley

Thanks for info, I'll check OBS. The main problem is - I can record only in 800x600, because main menu is fixed to that resolution. Gamecam, Fraps, pretty much everything I've tried, fails when I enter game with other than 800x600 resolution (it's game crash, or it misses models, when trying with Virtualdub). If I could record in higher resolution and with mouse, I'd do this run again, sure).

Well, OBS captures mouse pointer - not sure what bitrate should be used for HD, I used 10 000 and it looked pretty nice.
I also thought about Broken World? I believe that main menu there is in higher resolution, so I could record better looking game - I could go Blood Assasin then Cheesy Nah, checked now and it's laggy @ 15 000 kb/s and 50 fps doesn't look like 50 fps.

Good news: fraps captures mouse pointer in windowed mode. So. Yeah.

Oh my gawd, I just used power three times. You have to be very fast and monsters can't be near you. I guess it would only work with very strong monsters and far distance - though usually most die after second shot.

About run - I think about restarting it with expansion. Maybe I should go blood assasin and throwing weapons build? Blood assasin's version of thunderous shot doesn't require bow/crossbow. Ricochet could do nice damage, but I guess crossbow will still outdps thrown..
I'm not very familiar with Blood Assassin and the expansion (Only played it through once) but if you want to do that then go ahead Smiley

In general BA is more powerful (though he splits experience between ranged and combat magic). But he gets nice self-buffs instead (more dex, +shadow damage to arrows etc). Talents in general give you less % to damage (they added extra 10 points accessible with gear, so you can have 30 max, instead of 20). I'll do some tests.

EDIT: I've been doing some tests, and beginning of the game is so hard. It seems that monsters are doing more damage, but I'm not sure. Suddenly it got harder. Also, Vulks are deadly. I stumbled across Ancient Vulk and I was dead in 2 hits.

But, there are some nice things in expansion - you can have any special item from city vendors right away if you can afford it, and there are some added modifiers for armor/weapons (like +10% critical damage/chance, chance on/when hit etc.). I guess I can make introduction level, there's not much planning there.

Ehh, where is LightningX when you need him...
Ok, here is first part of BLOOD ASSASIN run.
Time: 6:30 (best so far, I don't think it can be improved really, party management in this game BLOWS) -
In this part I utilized stop animation glitch right away, even though it's annoying when using with bow, but as soon as I get crossbow, things should go smoothly.
Nice, the quality looks much better now (And a cursor!) Smiley
Thanks. I will be on hold for a couple of days - it's so hot I'm afraid to use my graphics card without cooling, and with integrated one it won't be same quality, so in a few days I should get a cooler for my card and I will resume this shit. Might go slowly, I'd rather make perfect or near perfect segments. We'll see.
Take your time, I'd rather see a really great run that takes time to finished than a half assed one thats out tomorrow!
