Last night to get asleep i rewieved all the DK1 levels and how to complete them Tongue

And for level 4 i was thinking "why do we do that, isnt there a faster way, like this" and yes we can do this way ,here is the result :

Yes lvl 18 is so hard :P, anyway full credit to zyzzyva for the strategy

The new time for lvl 9, is it with or without taking the bonus level?

And at lvl 7, you can easily obtain a lv 9 orc. You can also obtain a lvl 8 mistress :). On the other hand, traps are inefficient for that level (lightning and gaz only).

yeah im aware about the lvl 9 orc, i was totally on vacation when running level 7 :D. The timed levels are my big break Grin

You'r making yourself fun of your time ;D, i'm just following the lead ^^

for lvl 18 : Dont mine gold (very important, because it brings more enemies), build lairs etc... ; enter the castle by the treasure room (to avoid triggering some wizards).

now that i tried woodly rhyme a minute ago, it has me a little worried because its hard to get to the left blue keeper. He only digs himself out once in like 10 times. Anyway to expose him every time? (i suppose not but still worth asking ;D)

ps zoonel: did u transfer horny from lvl 15 to lvl 16?

edit: its kinda hard to kill 2x ninjas and lord of the land with a lvl 9 horny Undecided

edit2: nvm managed to pass it in 6:35 but i had to kill witches and dwarfs, so gotta re-do.
edit3: ok we got 5:49 for lvl 15, but i didnt transfer a horny, so ill lose like 30 sec in the next level. not sure if its worth it.

Once i get the outpost i dig out and protect myself, and i kill the lord of the land asap.
Its a long way to get the transfer creature, long bridge path then you must destroy a magic door and claim a lightning trap :/
I'ts so long that i could research lightning to kill the remaining samurais.
One big problem is to restrain the amount of creature and imp so they dont get past the outpost and trigger the dwarves and witches (or claim the ghosts who triggers ....)

You can still make them exposed by sending an imp with the corner trick.Or more vicious, you can send an imp to an unclaimed path near the portals when they dig to obtain it

level 15 :

i had a completely different approach to it than zoonel, and i believe it paid off in the end (saved more time)

ok, get ready to laugh and watch my lvl 16 run ;D:

I dont care if somebody beats my time without a creature transfer, this run is legendary ;D. You can see my awesome up-until-the-last-shot precise strategy in action Grin

Good you did record it Grin

I also had that weird A.I. reaction, however i did bring only one reaper and finished him with the other.

For level 15 i did it in 5:00 without picking the transfer creature. Getting it is definitively too long if you can do lvl 16 so quick.
And for lvl 16 1:35 is a very good time, my best is 1:40 with a decent A.I.

lvl 15 strategy is not so different, i dont let my dungeon open, i kill the knight before he enter the blue dungeon then i kill one samurai then the other then the green keeper.

by decent A.I. i mean not with lvl 8 orcs running around without noticing you till the heart life is at a sliver. Its more reliable, since it works no matter the AI reaction. (i didnt say its easier though)

Nice vids. Has any of you played DK2? I did, and I was quite disappointed. It's much slower, as you can see by the imps claiming tiles and minions being stunned after you've dropped them. There are things I do like, for example the new heart and the ability to drag rectangles in the ground to be dug out. Anyway, good luck with the last two levels!

I've played dungeon keeper 2, although I don't think it's as good as the first. For the speed issue, you can speed up the game all the way to 4x faster in the options menu. My main problem with the game is how easily your minions become unhappy.

12114, your video for level 16 really is wonderfully absurd. I hope you don't beat the time later, so that it stays in the final product.

as for DK2, its bad game, not even gonna lie. In fact its so bad, i'm not even sure i want DK3 anymore. Dk1 is perfect however (at least for me) Grin

Didnt record lvl 15 because the strategy is not too different from yours, but i'll put it on top of my to do list Smiley

Yes i played it, but i dont remember a thing of it (must have played a level or so :-[). Some years ago i tried to play it again but i couldnt run it under xp Undecided

great job zoonel, but 3 questions:
1) how come i cant swing as fast as you with a lvl 9 horny? in lvl 15 it takes you 36 sec to kill a heart but i can never beat 39-40 sec... and overall it just looks/sounds like you swing really really fast.

2) why did the orcs attack you in lvl 16? For some reason orcs dont do anything for the first minute in my game (as you can see in my vid). Anyway to regulate that?

3) Are you using DK Gold or some kind of a patch? My patch/keeper.exe is 1.34 mb (its the old original one), maybe that explains the slow ass swinging Grin

2/3) i'm using dk gold yes. there is a patch for the original one i think, dk gold is the already patched dk + depper dungeons.
Maybe thats why you get those dumb AI, but it happends to me sometime and it was a lucky move they followed me.
What happends is when you trigger an alarm trap and wait there they will attack you, or if you attack them they'll attack you.
Besides the AI behaviour i believe the game is the same.

1) i swing fast because i'm a mouse master 8) Tongue

. More seriously i've a good mouse (razer diamondback) and i'm smashing left click very fast (i cant hold this rate forever, and in the video you can see/hear that the speed decrease at some moments). Its exactly like a console game and clicking as fast as possible the buttons.
When doing this i'm not holdin the mouse anymore, so i cannot move but i click fast Wink

i got logitech g5. On my test map i slapped the lvl 9 reaper, turned on must obey spell, gave him speed monster and clicked 100 times per second; still cant beat 40 sec... i tried like 5 times and it always takes me 40 sec to kill a heart, no less, no more. Cry

p.s i dont use DK gold... something strange is going on.

you can use speed right away, so you dont have to wait 15 sec, and dont take the message seriously with pink gems ^_^ Grin

edit: i assume you know how to install and play multi levels, you have to go to levels.txt to set the flag etc etc.

and yes i kill the heart in 37 sec no matter if i mash the button like a crazy or not (still doing it fast though).
One weird thing, if i let the horny kill the heart (without must obei or speed) he will become berserk and increase his hit rate like a mad. Dont know if it is a bug or not but he kill the heart in 54 sec instead of 1:xx with must obei and speed.

i just timed my horny on our special map. I waited until he could speed himself up (have to wait 15 sec), and dropped him near the heart. I started my stopwatch from the first ding and up until the heart explosion (like in lvl 16), and it took him 1:14 to do it.

That was WITHOUT posession or must obey, i just let him speed himself up and started the time from the first ding like i said. How fast can yours do it? ^^
