Well, it's good, but I think we have to make a run which can be watched as a one-segment. We must start each level with the same inventory/health as we left the previous level. Anyone has a solution for this ?

Well, Quake done Quick was not entirely fitting, either. In fact, I think that takign over weaponary and inventory would make the run LESS interesting. Jetpack. I think starting each level from scratch is okay as is.
Then there still are single segment runs, maybe someone might even do one for the full game (however, Episode 2 is very... bleh)
Anyway, as a Christmas Present, I filled up the missing spots in Episode one. And if you don't mind, kineox, I'd like to do the future updating as well.
#duke3d on irc.metroid2002.com if you want to chat.

Sure it was. All the QdQ releases are chained together as one-segment runs, i.e. the statistics from the previous map are being used. Only the first levels in each episode are being done from scratch.
Personally I'd like to see this done for Duke3D as well, it opens up for a whole new variety of tricks on the later levels in each episode...
Well, I remember some health and ammo differences in the version I saw
The problem I see with it in Duke3D however is that the levels get a lot more boring that way. Use the Jetpack to fly up there. Yawn. I think having a Single Segment Run of this kind would be enough.

The problem is that you start with 100 health even you finished the previous level with 1. :-/
The chances are good you remember wrong... people really put a lot of time into getting this right. IOW, if you found differences, we'd like to know!
Well, maybe there weren't, then.
We could put something consecutive together if we found away to include starting inventory/weapons/health in the demos, althouhg I think that would make the run... very boring =/
Is it the same way with Duke 3D as it is with Quake?
Nah, you start with what you left with. Exactly. That even killed me in Movie Set once (you drop down at the start for about 11 or 12 damage, and I only had 7 health from the previous level) >_<
Hmm I've just watched the full run, that's impressive
You use a lot of bugs, and your skills are really greater than mine. Well done. Now you have to capture it on AVIs
And what about doing a parallel run with end-level stats keeped, as a one-segment ? (finding the way to do it first, maybe tell Jonof how to do)
And in toxic dump, try to jump directly to the teleport, without crossing water (I did it, you can).
Well, we can't be done yet, 20:58 is not a nice time yet, there's still quite some stuff to improve. I tried to do a direct jump for toxic dump, but really, getting the rest of the run to work well and fast is hard enough as is. I might give it another go soon, though.
I've done a speedrun of this game and I've a time of almost 25 minutes (that's half the time of 3D realms ), can I post it on this site? And how do I post it, I'm kinda newby :-/
I've always thought the lack of a speedrun for this game was a pretty conspicuous absence. Perhaps we'll see games from the entire 3d Realms family (Shadow Warrior, Blood, etc.)
