SPEEDruns not SAFEruns
What can I say about this game? It's Super Mario World combined with Kirby, has an excellent soundtrack, and some of the best graphics the Super Famicom has to offer. It's a sequal to Milon's Castle on NES, but the only real similarity is that Milon is the main character - it's just too bad it never reached the US until it's VC release last year.

I've played through it casually and have been routing at a fairly slow pace. Most of the strats are initially going to get pulled from Kaizoman's TAS . As far as I can tell there hasn't been a speed run done of this yet, and I would love to try and get it as close to the TAS time as possible. The game itself is linear in design, and there isn't really any room for categories, other then All Levels, as the game requires you to get 5 stars from the 2nd world forward to advance to the boss fight.

I am going to be hitting it hard after the Final Fantasy relay race in February, and possibly submitting it to run at SGDQ '14. I will post videos and times in the coming weeks, if anyone would like to get involved let me know!

Thread title:
Oh dear God.  I'm pretty much the only North American speedrunner of Milon's Secret Castle, but I've played through this game as well (albeit with the goal of just completing it).  Maybe I just sucked at this game, but I gave up on the final boss after an absurd amount of deaths and didn't care enough to finish it.  I'd like to see this happen.  I wish you all of the luck in the world because this game was frighteningly difficult for me.

I've watched your runs of MSC, and they're magic! The bosses in this game do have a pretty steep curve to them, although they look kiddie. I will be messing with real time strats for awhile, because some of the TAS ones look impossible to do. I should have updates pretty soon, unfortunately my work schedule is insane (I work two weeks on, two weeks off away from home) so there will be small gaps, but I will try and keep it updated.
i used to run this pretty fun game for sure keep it up

Thanks for the follow RatFunk! I will be doing attempts starting February 9th (Final Fantasy Relay on the 8th), but unfortunately go back to work on the 12th. I will be practicing however, and will bring recording equipment with me.
German to the Past
Never played it much. But really wanted to get into it. maybe I'll have a casual run and see if it fits my style for running.
But I agree: Sounds and graphics are one of the best on the SNES.
wow i stopped because of the non comp but now I should unretire, thou I only got mildly into running it to start, 1:27:49 is best I could post inc a few death, never bothered to watch the tas but I know there's a good bag o tricks, wit h bubble gum and shoes. and yes its almost as happy as ninpen manmaru.

So just for a quick update - this game didn't get accepted into SGDQ (understandable), and I have been routing it slowly. I'm hoping to pick up runs relatively soon in the next month or so, but other games have prevented any progress until now - I'll post more stuff as it comes along
