Hey guys been trying to get back into this game after watching the sgdq race! I was practicing this game a bit and stopped a little after agdq. Lots of cool stuff discovered in such a short time!

After watching the new any% guide was wondering about noload and if any of you use it?

I'm getting an error and it says I don't have 1.2 dishonored when I do since I can do the clips and junk. Any idea why this is?

Pretty much all of us use noloads actually. Unfortunately I've never had this issue, so I have no idea.

Thats what it looks like to me too.

You also dont have to blink straight into that corner, just blink down at the hight of your jump.

Also note that this Clip only works on patch 1.2 or lower, be sure your Game is on that Version

I was about to say. I find it a lot easier facing the door looking down and kinda lining my cursor up with the edge of the door.

So since everyone(probably?) hates the Campbell Curnow conversation that lasts 10 years, is the Campbell Gate Glitch Bug allowed in the glitchless category? Actually, what is the glitchless category for dishonored even, just no wall clipping/oob because patched version and any thing else fair game since it's mostly just thoughtful jumps, a bouncing boyle, and a samuel dialog skip?

Please excuse my terrible blinking and also that fall on the stealth one, was too lazy to reload and do it again. I'm also just assuming having to swing around for the door and the extra blinks makes it slower than just clipping through the door the first time for any%. Is it obviously slower? Should I bother trying to compare routes? I just started so a back to back video comparison would take ages with my inconsistency and slow blinks.

Also, any chance for a NLG glitchless category?

Glitchless Any% =
no OOB
no clipping through doors
no elevators
Some people (aka myself and Lampzerg... and Ferret i believe) also think Savescumming (aka manipulating the boyle rng till you get good rng) is also a no go.
Talking to Lampzerg he also agrees with me that the infamous "ASS" shouldnt be in glitchless because it doesnt matter how small of a glitch it is, it is a glitch.
Weirdly enough everyone agrees that swordless is allowed tho :3
So pure glitchless pretty much? Is the samuel dialog skip during loyalists not allowed? And my hopes of the campbell gate glitch skipping the wait for campbell to open the damn door shattered?

I just always tend to make my own little personal category(that I have the most fun with) when speedrunning games that never truly fits into a legit category. My own little one for dishonored being Any% and NLG run on the patched version, so just no oob/clipping. I dislike oob and all the crazy unloaded textures.

To each their own really, gotta play that what you have the most fun with :3

And i dunno about the gate glitch. Never even know that existed till now :p Gotta ask other people for their opinion.
MATHEMATICS
You could run any% no elevators/no clipping.

wait, what just happened? Screw glitchless this might be any% strats.

edit: It's about 3-4 seconds slow for any%. If it's allowed in glitchless it could be faster, I didn't route or time it for NLG.
Dishonored Before Death
Found a nice little thing thanks to sticky walls.

Possibly a new elevator strat. Instead of holding back and a direction, you just hold the direction and turn at around 30 degrees. This seems to skip the climbing animation that happens at the top of elevators (the ones I've tried, which are Prison skip, the shrub for the Assassin skip, and chainless, which is easier the original way). Try it out and see if it works better for you. Smiley

That seems like a very small optimization, but it might be worth going for.

Actually, it doesn't use more mana if you do it right. It's just that the door seems to open on a timer, and that makes it slow.

I would want an explanation of how/why it works before I made a judgment on whether or not it could be in glitchless.

(Real) glitchless sucks ass anyway. I propose we call it any% no elevators no clipping or any% no major skips and be done with it.
I pretty much just add patched or inbounds to pretty much all of my speedgame title/timers these days since Portal 1. Might as well just add or rename the glitchless dishonored category Patched or Inbounds. Never really a fan of pure glitchless, looks too much just like an asian let's play.
