Thanks 16, I didn't read your post until just now. I did know about the sliding through the planks, I just forgot to do it. I did a race with Sloth about an hour ago and got a 45:52, a big improvement over my 48:08 I got two days ago. Here if anyone wants to watch it: http://www.twitch.tv/invis_/c/1929185

Also some things I've figured out recently, not sure if anyone of these are already known:

- When going under the Pub to check out the Weepers, sleep darts can be used against them to complete the mission. You start out with exactly 3, leaving the one you still need for Mission 4.
- When doing the tower jump at the beginning of Mission 6, you don't need to jump onto the lamp post after the first big jump to get onto the platform. Just double jump and blink vertically and you can get to the top.
- You can soft lock in the Prologue after killing the second enemy. I'm not 100% if this is how it happens, but I have had it happen to me two times, both the exact same way. If you get too close to the second guy when shooting him, the third guy won't ever spawn.
- You can also soft lock going into Mission 4. After talking to Pendleton and heading into the Pub, make sure not to Blink and come in contact with the bar or its stools in any way. If you touch the bar or anything near the bar after blinking, the cutscene you need in there won't happen and you just soft locked.

Not entirely sure what causes it but mostly happens when you move around too much before the enemies spawn. This can be 100% avoided by standing still after giving the empress the letter. Start moving once they do spawn. This is a 100% guaranteed spawn for the third guy and doesnt waste time.

"Tower jump"? You mean the Sloth jump at the beginning of mission 6? Tongue

Also, nice run, Invis. Definitely looked a lot tighter than the previous run you posted.
No, no, Sloth jump is mission 7, he means the jump at the beggining of Return to Dunwall Tower. It can be a bit tricky
MATHEMATICS
Ah, I see I can't count. As is to be expected of the guy who has a string of numbers for a username. Tongue

Yeah, that jump is a bitch. Sloth jump isn't exactly easy on console either. Spent at least half an hour trying it and got it like three times.

What is soft locking?

Sub 41 is very much possible. Didnt even have best RNG on Lady Boyle and much more failures in this run. Mission 7 balcony jump killed the run.
MATHEMATICS
The new routes for Campbell and the Pendletons are that much faster? And where did you get 8 seconds on mission 4? Buildup of different techniques? Because it's really tight in the 42:59 run.

What run are you comparing this with (in Wsplit, I mean)?

New WR and also personal best 41:58!
Twitch highlight of the run: http://www.twitch.tv/amzblk/c/1930555

I made a lot of mistakes and another half a minute can be shaved off of that time. In my previous post I actually meant sub 42 is possible which I just have managed to get.
I will upload a HQ version of the run to YT soon.
The splits were from my 42:59 run

42:59 vs 41:58 splits:

41:58 split times:

Lots of horrible mistakes where time was lost & quick notes about the run:
-Mission 2 horribly failed the door clipping ~7 sec lost
-Weepers intermission failed killing one of the weepers ~10 sec lost
-Mission 3 bad twin spawn ~10 sec lost
-Stuck at the woman in the bar before Mission 4 ~3 sec lost
-Various mistakes in Mission 4 ~3 sec lost
-Horrible Lady Boyle kill with very cinematic long killcam & not the best of spawn ~15-20 sec lost
-Mission 6 was the most perfect Mission 6 I have ever had except that I couldve blinked once more on the roof while escaping to the boat
-Failed balcony jump on Mission 7 & stuck in wall in the end of mission for too long ~13 sec lost
-Mission 9 can be done a little faster I think ~3 sec lost

Total room for improvement in my estimation: 1 minute 10 seconds
So actually sub 41 should actually be very possible.
MATHEMATICS
Prologue: the 1.4s improvement is because of choosing to play hide and seek with Emily rather than denying her?
Mission 1: does taking the different swimming route really save 3 seconds?
Mission 2: why don't you just shoot the second whale oil tank with a bolt? Also, that really was a bad doorclip.
Mission 3: seems like you do best when you have bad twin spawn. Your 42:59 run had bad twin spawn too.
Mission 4: I was wondering where the 8 second improvement was coming from, but it's clearly the route to Samuel that is making the difference, as well as skipping the chain on top of the bridge.
Mission 5: Bad RNG again. Shouldn't be too much of a problem, but why would you even consider going down four stairs to get to the target when you can just jump down?
Mission 6: Nicely done. I liked the rerouting back, going across the roof rather than around the building.
Mission 7: Aside from the obvious, well done.
Mission 8: Are you sure getting Havelock's note isn't faster?
Mission 9: Yeah, 3 second improvement seems reasonable.

Just now I recall something: you had a new computer, and it's an RTA run. How much of the time gained is due to quicker loading, you would say?

Also, I did some messing around on mission 7 today, and I have to points:
1) The door you need Daud's Key for is really thin. Two blinks to clip through, every time. Would you get into mana management problems otherwise or something?
2) If you go to the Apartment with the survivors, go all the way to the top, face away from the tallboys and clip through the wall, you can see a set of structures in the distance, surrounded by nothingness. Could somebody with the PC version noclip over there? I was thinking it was a rather strange coincidence that that part of mission 7 and the first part have the same map image on the loading screen.

I just went through both runs frame by frame and cut out the loadingtimes. In my 42:59 run loadscreens totaled 57 seconds. In my 41:58 run loadscreens totaled 20 seconds.
So I improved my WR by 23 seconds by not buying a new PC. 37 seconds improved can be accounted for new PC.
Disregarding the loadingscreens I mentioned that the run can be atleast a minute faster with the same amount of loadscreens, so there is still a lot of improvement.

Havelock's note would be faster if there were no guards.

1)Clipping through the Daud Key door would mess up your mana for later and is not worth it.
2)Not sure, maybe ill setup the packet editor again to fly around there

EDIT: Looking at the loadingtimes Sloth might not have actually beaten my 42:59 WR if he has a decently fast PC.

I was doing some races tonight and daud suddenly decide to throw the box of supplies in the wrong direction and i have no clue why.

Okay, so I did some non-ladidah running today, and holy crap the frame drops during saving. Pain in the ass, that.
Faith
Yes 16, it's terrible. It happens on console too but not near as bad. I'm almost 100% sure it only happens when creating a save. I haven't looked in Options or anywhere else to disable auto saving, but if we could that would be great. We done need saves for SS anyway.
MATHEMATICS
I'm playing on Xbox, Invis, and can confirm it's really bad even when the game is installed on hard drive. I had it freeze up multiple times today too, after getting a rune and upgrading my powers to quickly, the Xbox just froze. I understand now why Amzblk prefers to get Agility 2 after goin gthrough the doors and seeing what his RNG was like.

I'll check out if there is such an option, but I doubt it.
New WR 41:52. Not happy at all how it went and wont be uploading any HQ runs before I get sub 41:30

MATHEMATICS
Watching it on Twitch right now.

Also, I am stupid:
Quote:

Because the Boyles will go up those stairs if their close to them and the alarm goes off, duh. Sorry for being an ass.

I will actually stream a lot of attempts today, hopefully for 4-5 hours. I am live now at http://www.twitch.tv/amzblk/new
Going for that sub 45:30.

EDIT: New WR after streaming 41:37
Will upload run to YT tomorrow. - Changed my mind, too bad of a run, not worth 7h of upload.
Okay, so I decided to go and time the loading screens in my game just for fun and they were alot higher than I expected. In my PB run of 42:45 loading screens total approximately 60s putting that time at 41:45 while amz's time is currently 41:32
I am correct in assuming that loading screens are not factored into the time on pc games right?

amzblk: 2013-02-18 01:54:24 pm
New WR 41:17. Everything was perfect except for 5-7 seconds lost on Mission 4 getting stuck in the door and 18-20 seconds lost on Mission 7 to all kinds of things other than the balcony jump.
Next goal is sub 41, definetly doable by not failing anywhere.
Splits:

HQ video of the run will be on YT tomorrow.

Sweeeeeeeeeet. Looking forward to watching this. (Edit: Once twitch finishes buffering it PAINFULLY SLOWLY, that is.)

Sloth: 2013-02-18 05:12:38 pm
Oh man Amzblk, a new record right as I beat the old one :P, My new PB is 42:05 and my loading times total 61s so if I take off 41s to be the same loading times as Amz my time is 41:26. There are still a couple places where i can make up a good amount of time though. I'm going for sub 41:40. http://www.twitch.tv/decidedsloth/c/1941030

Edit: Well Amz, i'm sorry to say but I've broken your record. The new WR is 41:51 minus my 61s of loading times so 40:50. I will post this to youtube soon. Meanwhile here is the Twitch higlight. http://www.twitch.tv/decidedsloth/c/1941453
Nicely done Sloth, competition will motivate us getting the time lower and lower!
Anyway here is the run (41:17) from yesterday which is my PB:

I manged to improve upon the WR time by 14s. Here is the Twitch highlight, I intend to upload this one to youtube soon. http://www.twitch.tv/decidedsloth/c/1945404
New WR time is 40:36 no load times, 41:37 with.

Edit: So while just looking at my best splits for each mission sub 40:00 without loading times is without a doubt possible, just very hard. We will get there someday I'm sure.
