I am somewhat hesitant about posting about this game, since it has both visual novel elements and some gameplay elements akin to cyberpunk games such as Uplink. Pretty much what I'm saying is that this might not be considered a video game. I wouldn't know for certain though: anything that involves a mouse and keyboard or a controller is a game to me, but that's beside the point.

Digital: A Love Story is a game made and written by indie game developer Christine Love made and released in 2010. It follows an unnamed player character as he or she discovers the wonders of the internet circa-1980, complete with dialer modems (god, that noise) and BBSes. Read more about it here.

Here's a link if anyone's interested: http://scoutshonour.com/digital/

My best run so far is 22 minutes 30 seconds, but I think that a sub-20 run is theoretically possible.

wow, I can't believe I misread this as Digimon: A Love Story and is the reason I checked the thread out Cry

Downloading the game anyway to check it out!

Okay, not really sure what you're doing wrong, but I had a chaotic time with the game. Broke it in many ways, and ended up beating the game in 13 minutes. I'm sure you could go sub-10 easily if you planned it out. All I have to say is figure out the triggers and sequence break the heck out of the game. Underground Library is a set password, and other than programs, everything else you can enter manually and it'll work.

Good luck with the run.
Whew, I knew that I could get sub-20, but I didn't know that it could be beaten THAT fast. Thanks, Zenic.
It's not that I was doing anything wrong so to speak, I just didn't know that one could skip a few things in the gameplay. Like the Gibson. I thought that if you played the game in a specific way, then you had to go to all of the BBSes, but I guess not.

I'm not sure I avoided the Gibson. If I did, then it'd take a little time to figure it out how to get around it since I haven't reproduced that.

Anyway, I was looking for distracting project and I took on routing this for the last couple of hours. Here's my basic route, it does not cover every action:

Note the codez batches aren't active until you read the post that has them. So, if you run out of the first batch, you'd have to go back to Matrix to get the next one. Might as well end the run then. Just did a semi-casual run of this in 6 minutes. sub-5 minutes is possible in a final run, as I had some bad input, bad luck with the dictionary hacker, and got interrupted for a bit. Good luck.

Also, I tried skipping the Emilia core since it didn't seem like a downloaded app. It didn't work, but I got a nice message from the developer.
