Monzaemon route has a major improvement compared to the last monzaemon route, but I'll tell you here and now, don't commit to that run.

Once we finish working out how to get the stat training down pat in the first day, then most runs will be slow, especially monzaemon.
Remember your mantra.
Seadramon has really been rustling my jimmies.

So far, I have gotten the first 3/4ths of the run down, but this has been my stopping point. I know he is possible with the Old Rob, but that doesn't mean it isn't a real pain in the butt. I have spent the last 20 minutes reading over some of the Ancient routs proposed for this game, and noticed a couple don't include Seadramon.

I know, I know, it is going to be optimal getting him in the rout, but for gits and shiggles, what would be an 'back-up' rout incase you didn't feel like fishing.

At this point in the run, I am trying to earn enough points to trigger final Ogremon, and have skipped several Digimon, including Monochromon and Garurumon, Penguinmon, Pattamon, as well as the random Digis such as Mamemon and Pixiemon.

Is there anyone else I should be considering?
For Seadramon, this is what I do, maybe it'll help you:

1) Land the bait somewhere in the spot marked by the green circle:

2) Wait for Seadramon to bite. If he pass and doesn't bite, pull the bait, move a bit and launch again before the next pass.
3) Once he bites, wait about 2-3 seconds and press X (usually a couple of splashes).
4) Now wait while pressing X whenever the bar goes blue. After 2-3 minutes Seadramon gets tired and lets you pull him. Watch out because the bar will turn blue really fast.

Ogremon doesn't need any specficic PP to recruit him in Drill Tunnel, however you should have 45 PP to go to Leomon Cave, maybe that's what you meant?
Anyway for alternatives... you need 6 PP if you skip Seadramon, so you  need 3 champs, or 2 champs + 2 rookies, I believe the options are these:

Drimogemon is easy, just talk to him at south of the lava pools where Meramon is, and come back after a few days when going for Ogremon/Leomon
Patamon is fast if you have a good technique/digimon when you fight him.

Frigimon relies a bit on RNG, changes the route a lot, and depends on what digimon you get. Basically you want to get a Moldy Meat in Amida Forest, then get sick as Agumon in Freezeland, then you can recruit Frigimon as long as you get a Champion that doesn't get sick.

Patamon + Penguinmon, the first doesn't take that much time if you have a decent technique, and the second it's pretty consistent if you practice it.

Tyrannomon, but it takes time.

And of course, RNGfuckyoumon Monochromon.
Remember your mantra.
So, after a month of practice and routing I have finally completed a few runs. The first time I beat the game, I got like four hours or something.
Using my ghetto non-seadramon rout, I was able to get a 3:15

My PB right now is actually 2:57, but that only happened because I just stumbled upon Metalmomemon on my way to fight Giromon, which allowed me to skip Tyrannamon later.

Also, by ghetto rout, instead of doing the whole Seadramon thing (which yes, I understand is the fastest rout) I have been getting penguinmon, pattamon, tyrannamon, and angemon. I am also able to get garurumon if I fail my curling, but that hasn't happened in awhile.

Anyway, point is I am just having fun right now, and will lock myself in my bedroom for a week practicing Seadramon once I start giving a shit. Right now it would be nice to have a partner to work with on this game, so if anyone is interested, send me a pm and I'll give you my skype.
Remember your mantra.
Current PB 2:23:57 without Seadramon, instead getting Pattamon, Penguinmon, Garurumon, and Drimogomon

Can probably get about sub 2:20 using this rout, when I get that I'll make a highlight.
So yeah what i did is prettymuch Steal Kakka_rots route and changed up the Training a little bit. I have a PB of 2:09:40 using the nonseadramon Route and its easily improvable by atleast 5 minutes. Does anyone have a faster finishtime for the US version? because i claimed that this is World Record for the US version and i dont want to be wrong :O
US version and JP version are fundamentally the same. The only difference is the text, which doesn't change the time by a significant amount. So to claim WR, you'd need to beat the Japanese time.

P.S. Zast and I are going to work on breaking the damn game so you guys don't have to. Smiley
isnt it Allready broken enough with the 11 minute run?
Opening the disc tray doesn't count.
Remember your mantra.
In my opinion, "claiming WR" fits into the "Least Important" category of things.
Just look at this thread, there have been quite a few OMFGIHAVETHEWR Douches in the past. Anyway.

The game has quite a bit of text, I would like to play the JP version to see if I feel any differences.

For the sake of documenting information, at the moment we have six active runners for Digimon. Blackwin5, Azure, Idunnyx, MarkHerst, MusicControl, and myself. There may be others as well. Almost everyone has subbed 2:30. We also have a skype group, and if anyone is interested in learning this game, send me a PM and I'll add you.
You guys need to start actually doing seadramon, either that or you should attempt RNG manipulation. Zast and I have been looking into it for you and soon we might be bothered to push for it. Just FYI, Seadramon saves a lot of time on your current run and if you follow foxt's tips, you'll get it in no time. Also, text boxes should have no difference because they are all instant and break up the text in both English and Japanese.
btw i just had an awesome run and thought i might share it here. http://www.twitch.tv/blackwin5/c/2614966 its a 1:51:02
Grats, when was the timer started though? When did it end?
i started at the first input ingame. so when jijimon starts talking to you. (21 secs later then the jap guy) and stopped it at the killing blow on machinedramon (53 secs earliers then the jap guy) so even if we take that time from his time i still beat him by almost a minute.

(i was not logged in when i started to post that and was too lazy to do it ^^)

Also, Zast confirmed TAS slot strats. Sooooooooooooo... If you wanna improve your time, either that or thunder justice are the next step.

EDIT: Still, grats.

I wouldnt even call it TAS strats at this point its just basic rng manipulation.  Anyway someone needs to dive in with an emulator and figure out the actual RNG  for slots since I only confirmed it was possible by roughly copying the TAS.  Also you would have to figure out how to get golden poop quickly cause it is a pain to hit quickly (I usually had to count out loud to help me hit it).

Also if you do decide to bring in slots you pretty much need to do all slots training immediately because the RNG will have changed too much later in the game to do it.
EDIT: the TAS if anyone wants to use it for reference to try it out for themselves.

So first of all, congratulations to Blackwin5 for getting an excellent new World Record! 1:53 seemed a perfect run while ago, but get ready for sub 1:50 soon Smiley

Now about the RNG manipulation, it should be possible to get 2 speed slots. Bad news is that we should get offense slots instead of speed, and these have an extra difficulty added because the RNG shifts every time the digimon does an attack while training.

Anyway even if we only manage to get 1 speed slot done consistently, it's better than nothing.

2 speed slots should be pretty easy to do with good timing I started having trouble when I had to do offense training which makes sense now since I never thought about the RNG shifting when he did an attack.  Also is there anyway for us to somehow pause buffer slots?  My method for hitting slots was really slow since I needed to get into a rhythm and if you could pause buffer it that would help with it quite a bit.
Not sure if it's already known or not but i've been working on getting Bakemon on Day 1 without much training at all.

It is possible with Gabumon (Have yet to do testing with Agumon) though its inconsistent right now, i'm seeing it at 50/50 though more tests will change the odds a fair bit.

So far i've been getting the items once the game starts, skipping the 3 meats and training 4 speeds and 2 offences letting Gabumon get hungry, fighting Agumon and then letting Gabumon lose a battle to the Betamon on the left side of the screen in Native Forest (The one left of Kunemon's Bed) after Jijimons speech he digivolves to Bakemon.

It's only been successful when fighting the single Betamon and not the Vegiemon/Betamon double on the right of the screen but that could just be bad luck.

Though Gabumon has worse base stats than Agumon, The route would be significantly slower than a Birdramon P-Beam route like Blacks as well since you'd have to unlock the Bulletin Board to open Grey Lord Mansion to get an early Thunder Justice off the group of Bakemon inside.

But it definitely is possible to get a Bakemon on Day 1, if it is any faster than a P-Beam Route though is still up for debate.
You can just go to Grey Lord Mansion, no need for the Bulletin Board.
I see, all my research turned it up as a bulletin board trigger, so much false info out there.

Hey , just a quick question, as I have finished writing down the route for this game and will start attempts soon: Is there a reason you are not using the In-game-timer? Is it like known for being inconsistent or something?

Edit: Another little thing that I forgot. I don't know if you know this, as not even the japanese TAS did it, but you can actually skip the 3 "Formation-Agumon" in Ogres Fortress.  It seems to be a tight window though, and I doubt it would be possible to make this trick consistent, but anyway, I've uploaded a video to show you guys. If you already knew then I'm sorry, it's just that the only mention of the three Agumon in this thread said they would be impossible to skip Smiley

Made a video with my method of getting Bakemon on Day 1 on the US version, had some people saying my claims were false, hope it proves useful.

I love this thread.
A couple of days ago, Azure got a 1:50:36 WR, and then BlackWin5 proceeded to completely destroy the game getting a 1:41 WR right after that.

And now Azure found that we can use Meltdown in any%. In other words, sub 1:40 soon.
