Centarumon isnt a problem at all, i did it plenty of times just running non stop to the 'O' (luck actually getting there the first time, just reset if you dont the first i guess or whatever you speed runners do). and remember that mamemon and piximon dont come unless you re-enter the same screen Xnumber of times. hope that helps, havent played in a while. would like to see this done haha, i doubt i could do this game and ive never finished, only got to infinity mt? is that tthe last dungeon place? anyways, GOOD LUCK!

saw your 2 segments too.very nice. but i personally would have re-done it,you waited at amida forest, i would have taken the risk and ran it through (besides, didnt seem like segment 2 was that hard) and they blocked way too much in my opinion. but whatever you are happy with, you are doing it lol. good luck again!

The number of visits to the area doesn't affect their appearance. That applies to all three of the "random" appearance Digimon (Mamemon, MetalMamemon and Piximon). I've seen Piximon on my first visit to Tropical Jungle.

oh, i didnt know Sad sorry

aren't you both right?
the last time i wanted to get mamemon, i re-entered his area a few times and he suddenly appeared. after i got him, i went to the jungle and pixiemon was there without re-entering a lot of times. metalmamemon was there where he stands at my first visit. ..so there appearance is really random, but re-entering helps a lot. Wink (or sleep near there areas, save and reset untill they are spotted)
??
i guess i was wrong? he says there isnt a set of times you have to visit that screen for them to appear, thats what i thought you had to do. i kinda want to play this game now lol.
I love YaBB 1G - SP1!
Their appearances is random. Going back and forth only increase the chance you'll catch them.
ah... I got the point now. ziajin said it's only possible to get them if you re-enter a lot of times ..yeah, this isn't true. sorry for misunderstanding you.
Nice start, your playing the game much better than I ever will play it.
Keep on working, I'm looking forward to it Cheesy
This game is one of the best games I have ever played, I can safely say Cheesy

In battles, pressing Select will show yor opponent's health bar, so it might be worth doing that at times - plus it's a habit of mine and really irritating when I can't press Select and see the health bar! xD

The run is good so far - I was thinking about whether a speed-run with this game is possible because of the training elements and randomising of some opponents. I look forward to seeing the finished product!

Btw, the sound is perfectly fine in the YouTube videos - no worries there Cheesy
I also though about doing a run of this game. Since digimon's lifespan is short, you have to be fast or he will die Sad
I think doing a run with only one digimon is insane if not impossible. The best way is to have your first digimon in ultimate level, no matter what digimon because digivolving is very unpredictable. When he dies, get a numemon and go to Toy Town to get a Monzaemon. Last time I played i did this, and I beated Machinedramon with that Monzaemon.

Another thing... I suppose that completing the game means beating Machinedramon for second time in the Back Dimension. That Machinedramon is very stong, so I recommend keeping all stat chips for Monzaemon, or if he doesn't last until the end, training a third digimon, getting some digivolving items and devil chips.

Money can be a problem... there are some tricks to get money but they need some time you won't be able to waste (trading recoverys with Mojyamon). Another way is to sell the Sirloins that Vegimon gives you, but until day 15 you won't be able to recruit him...

About Mamemon and these... Mamemon and Metalmamemon will appear after entering their screens some times (I think Mamemon's is 25). However, Piximon does appears at one random moment of the day. So keep one day enetering his screen until you see him and you will have the time he does.

Greetings and sorry if my english is not good Tongue

It's open-ended. I'd say the ending would be where the credits are. Technically, completing the game means getting all the Digimon to the city AND beating clone Machinedramon. You could also argue it would take beating the clone and getting all the medals. That's at least 150 hours' work.

The Garurumon strategy is more efficient. Ice Statue with high speed is enough to kill any opponents. If he Digivolves to MegaSeadramon, so much the better. It's not necessary though. Getting Monzaemon would waste too much effort for three points.

Money, that is a problem. Buy lots of Meat as soon as you get Coelamon and Betamon. That should be enough for now. Garurumon shouldn't need more than about 15 pieces per day - that's 450 BITS per day, not including Palmon's Giant Meat. If she gets a good crop, it's 250 BITS a day. He might not need that much, it's a high guess. Remember though, the occasional care mistake doesn't matter once you have Garurumon. You'll need them for MegaSeadramon if you want it.
I'm planning on doing a speedrun by myself, but I don't think I'll have time to do it Tongue
Also, I would do it on a PSP, my PSX died one year ago, and I don't know if that would be valid for SDA.

Anyway, going to Mt Panorama it's impossible until day 5, and Birdramon & Ogremon fights can't be done until you have Garurumon (Gabumon is too weak...), so that route need a rework.

A tip for Mt. Infinity is to learn "Muscle Charge" from a Rockmon. If you digimon can learn it, then you MUST. It boosts your attacks very much. A digimon with muscle charge and a high damage technique can do 1000 damage per attack in Mt Infinity, even to Machinedramon, so mt infinity would last 10 minutes.

And if you have to fight vs Mamemon, be careful because he uses that metal-boost technique (I don't remember its name :P) that makes him resists all your attacks (you can beat him with FINISH'ses only because normal attacks do 1 hp lol)

Greetings.

I did say it would need to be changed. I also gave the needed modifications.

If you use Ice Statue against Mamemon, he shouldn't have a chance to use Full Power. At least not very often.

Muscle Charge isn't worth it. Garurumon gets it by training Brains (he also gets War Cry), but it's not good. Unless you devote extra time to getting his Brains up, you won't get the specific technique commands before Machinedramon. In the later boss fights, you need to throw Ice Statues as fast as you can.

Before I can post the new route for the game, something needs to be answered. Does the dirt shifting mission complete itself? If it does and you don't need the money or parameters, it might be best to go to Freezeland and get Ice Statue while that's on. Also, you could defeat Garurumon and get Penguinmon. If you think the Ogremon quest would be too difficult, there's an alternative. Get Mojyamon and Leomon. You'll need to return to Drill Tunnel later for Drimogemon, so you can get the artifact easily.
Yes, dirt shifting mission completes itself. You just have to fight western Drimogemon and then talk to the eastern one. 3 days later you need to move the big rock.

There is a problem with Ogremon. Not fighting with him mean that you won't be able to recruit Shellmon, Whamon, neither going to Factorial Town and getting Andromon, Numemon, Giromon and Metalmamemon.

Later I'll do a list with recruitable digimons for a better path building Smiley
I love YaBB 1G - SP1!
Do Ogremon then.  I've thought, Centarumon might not be necessary. You could go for Ninjamon instead once you have Mamemon or Numemon.

On the first day, clear out the current Native Forest and start Drill Tunnel.

Get Agumon (1 point)

- If it's still a while before evening, use the following method -
Get Palmon (2 points)
Get Kunemon (3 points)
Go straight for Coelamon
Get Betamon (4 points)
Return to Native Forest and get Coelamon (6 points)

- If it's fairly near evening, use the following method -
Get Kunemon (2 points)
Go straight for Coelamon
Get Betamon (3 points)
Return to Native Forest and get Coelamon (5 points)
If you're strong enough, get Palmon. Otherwise leave her until you've triggered the Drill Tunnel mission.

- If it's already approaching evening, use the following method -
Go straight for Coelamon
Get Betamon (2 points)
Return to Native Forest and get Coelamon (4 points)
Get Kunemon (5 points)
If you're strong enough, get Palmon. Otherwise leave her until you've triggered the Drill Tunnel mission.

Boo!... hmm

Long time no post. In fact, very long time no post

i have apologees to makes, both my computer and recorder broke at almost exactly the same time a while back, a very sad occurence that stopped me from making any further progress on the run. Cash strapped as i am, i've finally managed to afford a new computer, but i'm still shopping around for a new recorder. I should be able to get back to work on the run sometime soon, i've got some holidays coming up so if i can find another way to record i should have time to get a fair bit of work done.

On a more positive note, thanks HalfMillennium for the revision, i did a full runthrough of the game in an attempt at penance for my non-work, and since i'm too lazy to actually change the layout i just improvised the parts that didn't quite fit, taking a huge chunk of time while i did it. The new route should strip of quite a bit of excess tinkering.

And, just for the benefit of everyone here, i'm going to air my only grieviance with this run (don't take it too heart, it's just my way of getting my frustration out)

why, oh WHY? can't it be agumon who digivolves to garurumon?
I love YaBB 1G - SP1!
I'm thinking perhaps there could be two categories. An Agumon run and a Gabumon run. Agumon would be significantly harder. The lack of a Digivolution that gets Ice Statue is an issue. You'd need to get Sonic Jab from boss Agumon. Otherwise you'll lack any quick attacks. If you don't want to rely on it often, a few options:

- Race through the first few parts of the game and get the Water Bottle. Seadramon can learn Ice Statue. Quite difficult, Meramon would have to be fought as a Rookie. You don't have to win to get to Mt. Panorama. You'd need to be very quick or finish the dirt shifting mission yourself. Alternatively, you could get Sukamon and change him at Trash Mountain.

- Digivolve to Numemon then Monzaemon. I don't think he can learn Ice Statue, but he's good.

- Somehow get Greymon and learn Megalospark. Greymon also opens up the possibility of Frigimon. You could therefore ignore Patamon and Sukamon to save a few minutes. Alternatively, you could get Penguinmon or Gabumon as well and miss out one of the random Digimon.

I'll need to revise it again. I forgot to mention you need to fight Meramon. It's him you need from Drill Tunnel, not Drimogemon. I'm not sure if it's possible to fight Ogremon's final battle without Meramon first.
Hmm... But you can't move into the firecave with a rookie digimon...
Therefore you can't fight Meramon with a rookie...

So you must have to champion digimon to fight against meramon^^

Or did you mean to fight it later after it died the first time?
Remember.. you need a champion digimon to move that boulder...
I love YaBB 1G - SP1!
I've heard that before, I've also heard Rookies can. It's the least convenient option anyway, so it isn't advisable for a run. The best option is probably to get Greymon and Megalospark.
Yup, Megalo Spark is a pretty fast and strong attack...
But consumes pretty much MP...

I would suggest to sell the various chips to get bits to buy some
Mp-disks... One chip sells for 4999 bits which is pretty neat imho.

(btw., sorry for my english... I'm from Germany ;))

Another 4 weeks since my last post...
Any progress?^^
