What?
0-Cloak DROW route.

Also xexi's panchea skip works in DC, but you have to do it on the left wall with typhoon, otherwise the map doesn't load properly. I would guess that means the loading trigger is either above the door or inside the door?
Is this the same for the funicular bypass, or is that trigger actually on a timer?

I just wanted to say I fully support the starting time after the intro cutscene. Because that 1 second of control in the beginning does NOT constitute going through that 6 minute cutscene. I don't understand how anyone can justify it.

I just wanted to say...

SUB 1:00:00!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Happy Happy Happy!

Thanks to you guys man! Never would have been possible with all the new skips and glitches! You guys are awesome! <3 <3 <3

best wishes,

Wow I've been out of the loop for a while ! Clipping inside Barrett's room took me days and days of trial and error using the old 2-crates glitch, and you did it like it's nothing. How did you get the map to load past the blast door in Panchaea ? That has never worked for me, I'm a bit confused.
Congrats on the sub 1!

Hey Amo,

thanks man I'm happy that it is possible now.

When you want to let the map load in panchaea you have to get on the side , the trigger for the map is above the door, so you need to get through typhoon clipped up for a second to trigger it and then you can go through without problems. Cheesy

best wishes

So, just as a heads up there are tools for unpacking the game's files:
http://www.moddb.com/games/deus-ex-3/downloads/gibbeds-deus-ex-hr-tools

This has immediate use for finding missing pc passwords (The wiki is missing a lot of keycodes and passwords!). To do this, unpack the game (for directors cut this is just BIGFILE.000 - for HR you want both the bigfile and the bigfile_Eng) using the unpacker tool (Tip: Do this in a folder such as C:/dxhr/bigfile as otherwise the program might crash with path-names being too long). Warning: this will take a good chunk of disc space!

The file you are interested in is in the folder "FFFFFD61" and called "locals.bin". It is just a massive string table. You can ctrl+f with your favorite text editing program (I used notepad++) to the login name of the pc (E.g. try fmalik, hers is located next to all the other sarif employees) and the following entry will be the password (E.g. "bmbadier"). Please do update the deus-ex wiki with missing pc's and passwords when/if you have had to look them up :).

You can also open up the other files with the other tools. I have so far had no success with locating the full keycode list (most of the keycodes are in the game in notes and such, so can be found in locals) - though i have found that they were apparently stored in ".accesscode" files in a design_database folder at some point (it is likely they have all been compiled together into one file, or are listed in each map) - I haven't found them yet. It might be easier to try and see if it is possible to get the unknown keycodes using cheatengine than hunting through a monsterous database of files.

Also, in other software related news, if you want to have some fun & do an aug randomiser run (there are some plans to do an AM% randomiser for fun after ESA) you can grab a quick-and-dirty program i wrote the other day here: https://github.com/Apjjm/Augment-Randomiser/releases
It will just tell you what aug to get next (taking into account what ones you can currently get).

Is the list I posted missing codes ? The keypad codes are each in a small binary file of constant size, that's how I found them.

Edit:
DXHR keypad codes
DXHR computer passwords
There are links for TML too.

What?
Guess i'm a scum then Tongue - didn't recall those lists (though the dxhr wiki - which i've been using - is certainly missing codes). Your list is only missing the codes added to directors cut (e.g. tcole - coldbeer).
I guess that makes my cheat-engine lua script for showing the code of the current keypad redundant now.
(new acc. drMalcom)
Yeah I don't have the DC. Those codes were posted 3 years ago, can't blame you for not remembering.
Speaking of CE, I've been trying to implement a ghost mode for the past 2 days with very moderate success. I can fly by nopping everything that writes the Z coordinate and clip through walls, but being inside an object messes up the fov and there is something in the code that makes me instantly teleport sometimes but I can't figure it out. I have some code that kinda works but a proper ghost mode would be nice.

Yay, found a new route for Hyron Core. Brb rendering...

Edit:
Im not sure how you did that amoire, after a bit of attempts I got the same clip except nothing rendered so I fell forever. Either way what you have is very interesting.

I just realized that I don't clearly show which wall I'm clipping through. You want to go through the wall behind me, not the one on the left. It's easier to test with invincibility on (using the debug menu), because then you don't need icarus.

Something weird happened in Picus. I teleported inside the funicular and hit the button and the map loaded. It usually doesn't, I don't know how I did it and I cannot reproduce it. Anyways, has anyone found a legit way to clip inside the funicular ?
What?
That idea of using emp to prevent the icarus activation is really neat. There is a much easier floor clip you can do in panchea though which you could use instead of that wall clip (will record tonight). The reason why you fell through the floor xexi is because only the first two segments of the bottom hallway are loaded, and that clip puts you on the left hand edge of one of them - if you air control too much to one side or backwards then you will miss.

Regarding picus, there is a spot you can clip into the funicular that i've found, but it is incredibly tempremental and requires typhoon co-operating. Basically, you want to clip into the funicular wall just a little offset from the corner by the ladder and typhoon when facing the way the funicular would move. Jensen's head should be by a vertical red handlebar thing. If you are lucky you pop inside.
(new acc. drMalcom)
I don't know how to do it, but if it was possible to clip though these walls it would skip the whole elevator nonsense in the construction site. But there is just no good spot to do the typhoon glitch.

Allright, using my gamer's name account now.

So this is probably common knowledge but the Henghsa 1 skip can be done with the trash can nearby.

Tai Yong Penthouse skip

But would love to see it done with the extinguisher. Getting the crate isn't easy.
What?
Did you do the penthouse skip in director's cut? I could be sure that when i tried it in human revolution either the boxguards or malik wouldn't trigger properly.

I have the original game with no dlc. But yeah I didn't actually go to Malik. I'm going to try that later.

Edit: ah. nevermind, skip cannot be done. Malik doesn't show up.

Edit2: Ok just figured out Picus. You CAN glitch inside the funicular and activate the button, BUUUT you must not save/reload before that. Apjjm, do you have a video for the funicular / hyron core clipping glitches ?

Last edit: I may be technically possible to glitch the big door in Panchaea (there is a wooden crate), however I'm not sure it would be faster than going all the way around because you'd end up on the left side of the room. Would be interesting to test that.
What?
Here are the funicular & panchea clips i mentioned.

Note: The funicular clip is super finicky and inconsistent. The clip has to be just right, and even then i don't really know for sure why the typhoon only sometimes works.
If what you are saying about the elevator is true, damn, that's some time saved.
Thankfully the panchea skip is really easy - you just do a wall clip holding the box too high or letting go at a different time (I.e. deliberately try to mess up the wall clip).

Nice ! I'm happy that the funicular glitch is possible. Yes, every time I teleport inside without saving/reloading the map will load, and every time I save/reload the map won't load; it's consistent. I didn't know a floor clip was possible, nice job !

Is there nothing we can do about Tai Yong ? That segment is slooow.

Edit: In case you were still wondering, Apjjm, it is not possible to trigger the hideout map load from the vent in hengsha 1.
Maybe a new typhoon-less skip for Namir. I couldn't find the exit door tho, so I'm not sure. Sorry for the video quality.

That could possibly work - I will have to test when i get back from work. The reason the typhoon clip works is that the jump you make towards the elevator hits a trigger in the zone behind the door, this loads the triggers for the boss room.

Speaking of loading, here is how i believe the game operates at the moment.

Each map of the game is split into "streamgroups" (see the extractor tool). A Stream group does not dictate layout of objects (that is done in the map) - it merely dictactes what objects can have rendering / physics / ai etc. The game has one primary streamgroup and several secondarystream groups active at any one time. The primary streamgroup is the one that is rendered, and the one the game thinks jensen is actually in. Secondary stream-groups are not rendered, but everything else is there (collisions, AI etc). The reason the game maintains logic in these areas is probably so that patrols and such aren't stopped by going around a corner with a conveintly places streamgroup transition, and so that physics works if you throw props through a transition. A stream-group also maintains control of transition triggers, which chose which stream-groups to activate, and which components of those stream groups to activate.

How is this relevent to namir / picus?
Well firstly i presume saving & loading reloads the primary streamgroup with it's set of default secondary streamgroups - which would explain why the bottom area gets deloaded (of course, why it is loaded in the first place is still a mystery).  It is either that or that secondary stream-groups are only released when the game needs the space, so they stay loaded. Secondly, namir has (seemingly) a big box trigger in the room behind the blast-door, but before the elevator. This trigger might be a streamgroup trigger, but it definitely is responsible for adding a trigger to megan's door in DC (and making the namir fight not softlock for DC). The typhoon clip is used because you can jump through that trigger, letting you click on megan's door (in director's cut you can floor clip by the blast door into the boss arena, but the door trigger won't be loaded, and you can walk straight into megan's office).

This is also why it is necessary to do the clip into the elevator wall in TML - we need to go into the elevator shaft to trigger the streamgroup to load the collision for the seafloor lab. Interestingly the prison seems to load some weird collision at the bottom of the map which does not correspond to any visitible area in the game.
Another thing is that the coordinates can change completely between those sub-streamgroups. So it's not possible for example to go in Zhao's arena, take the coordinates, and find out where that is in Hyron Core.

And yeah, my Namir "skip" doesn't work.

Also finally looked through some of this stuff for the first time, why exactly does the namir no typhoon thing not work? Sometimes the door is REALLY hard to find, but there, if you get lost.
Congrats Plague ! I'm watching it now. That death in DRB was unfortunate (but funny). There is a box skip before Yelena, but then you would be 1 mine short so I don't know how that would work for your route.

I've tried the no-typhoon "skip" a couple of times (basic, no dlc version) and the door is definitely not there.

So to clarify, do those satchel charges in Sarif S&R come with the "explosive pack" dlc or are they exclusive to DC ? I'm trying to plan a segmented route and those are necessary (afaik) for a 0-cloak police department route. However, if we do the OOB skip in S&R then won't have them... So I don't know. The "tactical pack" saves about 30sec, so this one is pretty much required.
