Hey everyone!

First post here, I've known the site for a while but never came to take a deeper look. But now, this beauty came out : http://store.steampowered.com/app/284460/

First Person Platformer, Tron-like futuristic ambiance, built in speedrun mode with in game timer, and very fast acrobatic gameplay. Me likes.
So I was wondering if anyone around here has heard about it, is planning to speedrun it or else?

The game has only been out for 2 weeks, and yet some people have already done a sub 2 minute story mode run using a rocket jump glitch/bug/weird-feature-the-devs-left-in.

I'm planning on running it without that glitch (which allows you to basically skip 95% of each level), I've got a 24 minutes time without training too hard. Sub 20 definitely looks possible.

PS: I did a quicksearch on the forum for deadcore, came out empty, so I went ahead and created a new thread. If I did something wrong let me know!
Thread title:
Hello ! I've discovered this game 1 week ago and it's an epic one for speedrunning.
I'm actually doing Levels at 100% (all collectibles) and I think I'm going to start making some routes for the game soon.

I've discovered some nice skills for the game : the Dash Corner, the Blast exploit (that you told), the Cube-Jumping (maybe useless), Saving abuse.
Dash Corner (DC) is very interesting (discovered by myself but I saw one other player did it too). When you are on the edge of a wall you are "blocked" sometimes, you cannot move forward and if you leave the game you fall by yourself because you're not completely on the surface. At this point, if you do a dash, you bounce against the wall and you are more or less bumping upward. (Depends of some parameters). This skill will be very usefull for next runs.
See this video :

Blast exploit : I really hope devs will fix this skill because more you click faster, more you are faster. Not really fair in a speedrun... You just have to rocket-jump very fast many times and your speed is stacking for each rocket-jump you do.
See this video :

Cube-Jumping : When you are above a Cube (the naughty one) you can shoot it before touching it and jump while he is stunned. Hard to use and I don't think it'll be good for a speedrun...
No video.

Saving abuse : Use your rest of energy in Dashes in order to respawn when you take the save. Respawn and you recover all your energy.
No video. (Really need a video for this one ?)

About Dash, you can maintain the dash key to do a big dash (it uses your energy fast). Remember that's really not good to go fast. You have to press the key instantly to avoid this problem. I used VirtualDub to see some informations and if I click fast one dash use ~3,5 bars and you have 12 bars. So you can do 4 dashes fast before going out of energy. (0,5 bar is recovered before using the next dash).

Hope these informations will atract new people on this awesome game !

I'm new on speedrunning and on this website so I hope I don't make mistakes with global form, informations etc...
About my videos :
Oh and, I'm frensh, sorry for mistakes, hope that's not so bad x)

Hi folks! i seen today a video of someone who beat the first level on 2:54 with Power Up.

The route planning is perfectible, i think we can go more out of the track. My question is, how he performed his first jump at the very begining. He don't use rocket jump so wat is the trick...
Same as my fellow above, i'm french and new at speedrun and on SDA. Sorry for the mistakes.

Edit:
Ok ok i figured it out. He dash on the plateform before he jump.

New record i ve found on the same level. Much better.

Hi everyone,

First post here Cheesy
Wanted to share my own PB after a few hours of routing. I dont realy know if i did a good time compared to official leaderboard since i dont have access to it yet (Downloaded the game this weekend to know if it's worth to buy ^^)

It's a single segmented speedrun in a new game + (Story mode) so i can use (and abuse) the imba rocket jump. The only "trick" in there is that I switch my blast key from right click to a keyboard key during my run (@ Ending of "The Storm" level) so i'm able to spam it easier, and get a better rate of success, on an hard and long rocket ride.

05'25''68 (In game Timer)
6'54 (RTA excl. Loadings))
7'40 (RTA incl. Loadings))

Here my replay:

If you have any questions or improvement suggestion feel free to leave a message Wink
Hi and thanks for your replies guys !

I'm sorry to announce that but we will have to wait a bit before speedrunning. Devs are working on an update and they will fix the blast exploit. I don't know how but they will. (You use it at 3:30 ScavengeR). So our routes will depends of this updates.

I'll show you all my skills later.
Nice SpeedRun btw Smiley

Anyone still working on this? How realistic is it to get videos that are close to the times on the leaderboards?

edit:

Version 1.0 with the Blast Climbing exploit is still available on the deadcore_1.0 branch in Steam (nice decision of the devs). So I guess making 'Blast Climbing' runs a separate category (large-skip glitches) would be an option.
The attached video shows some small jumping tricks in level 1 that may or may not be useful in a non-Blast Climbing run.

Level 4 has many opportunities for this jumping thing. The attached video show two examples.
