I was thinking about one of my favorite games recently, Dead Rising (and its mediocre sequel), and how you would speedrun anything other than the overtime sections. I was thinking that, since there are sections that involve a long time of having absolutely nothing to do, you would simply time the sections in between those "gaps" you could say? Or for example you could time the amount of time it takes someone to get as many survivors?

Not concerned with it's acceptance to SDA, just wondering about your opinions on those categories/ideas of timing?
Thread title:
SDA Apprentice -- (3-1)
The only things I can think of other than "Get to the end of the story mode before overtime" is maybe perhaps one here all survivors can be saved perhaps as to show more of what is happening for the three days maybe.  Other than that though, I know you said "not concerned with it's acceptance to SDA" but the timing system would be just like an autoscroller: No way to actually speed things along, thus the end time would still be the same.

Now, if there was a way to "utilize" getting yourself captured and getting yourself knocked out, thus speeding up the time, then maybe you have something there.  Other than that though, a Dead Rising Speed Run isn't likely to happen outside of the Overtime Mode.
