For anyone interested in participating in a game of Dungeons & Dragons while at RPGLB There will be a group gathered to play one day at the event.
We already have a DM and 2 players willing to play and would be happy to help anyone who has never played a D&D game learn how to play.

Feel free to say if you would like to join for now so we can gauge how many players we would have. Save any character creation questions till after we know for sure.

The DM for the game currently is WyrmTalon. If anyone that wishes to DM instead is welcome to offer and we can discuss more on it. For now please respect any house rules the DM has.

List of general rules

1. We are going to be playing with D&D 3.5 edition for one game, Pathfinder for another, D&D 4E and a Drop in/Drop out Style game thats being worked on.

2. All games will be a  Oneshot game. meaning that this game will take several hours to do but by the end we will beat the quest or die trying.

3. If your are new to the game don't be afraid to ask what may feel like dumb questions. Either myself or Wyrmtalon will help you when we can.

4.  Sign in to the Spreed sheet for the games your most interested in playing. Don't worry nothing is final.

more to be announced....
Thread title:
Stay chill, be cool.
I'm up for some D&D.  I haven't played before, so this should be fun.
I'm in the same boat as WM.  Haven't played before, so I'm looking forward to it.
Clear as a crisp spring morning!
I assume this is for people who are at the event?

yes it would, but not just for runners obviously

I'm in. Only have one session of Pathfinder that I'm about to finish soon (and survive my first campaign!)
Back when I was 15, I made a character, but never played with him. Can Zook Ningle, the Gnome Mage make an appearance? :3
I've been playing D&D for over a decade.  I've played 3.5, 4E, 5E and PF.  I can roll up a character, even a Wizard or Cleric, in a matter of minutes if needed (unless they're high level and/or expected to be highly optimized - but I'm sure we'll be erring on the side of keeping it simple).  Count me in.

Definitely liking the idea of having a different kind of 'Role Playing' at the event this year.

I'm one of the people that expressed interest. If necessary, we can host the campaign at my apartment, but the guest hotel should also have rooms with adequate privacy and space.

I've played a bunch of 3.5 in the past
Why Hello it is Me
Always down. Unless it's on Friday morning-early afternoon, for obvious reasons.
Glad to see some people willing to play, both old and new. For those that have don't have a Corerules book of D&D 3.5 http://www.aegisoft.be/costa/data/roleplay/D&D%203.5%20-%20Players%20Handbook%20%5BOEF%5D.pdf this link will take you to a PDF of it. For now expect to see manly the core rules used and not many side books.
this both to keep things simple for both the DM and new players.

As of right now 8 players is likely going to be our Cap for a game, any more then that at a time would make it rather difficult for a DM to manage. However that doesn't mean no one else can play.

We are considering if there is enough interest our good DM WyrmTalon would host a Second Game for a Different group of adventurers! Possibly having both groups doing the same adventure and we can compare how each team did or both having two different adventures.

Please help us out with these ideas. Any feedback helps us make a much better game for us all.
Everyday is puppies and sunshine...
Depending on when the game/games is held, that sounds fantastic!  I would love to be a part, or the very least, I would love to chronicle the story!

I haven't played D&D in going on 20 years now. I think the last time I played 3.0 was brand new, and everyone knew what a THAC0 was Wink
Down for joining an adventure.
I wouldn't mind popping in for some D&D, though it would be interesting to have kind of a drop-in style of adventure where anyone can drop in for a series of encounters and then pop back out to go practice.
Ate the extra spicy banana
I've never played D&D and have always wanted to, so please sign me up! Cheesy

I'm interested in playing!

Alternatively, since interest is looking high, I'm also willing to DM another splinter game (which I'd prefer to do 4E for) for 4-6 players if there are enough interested players to spillover from the original game and the WyrmTalon game.  I could easily structure this as Freddeh suggests.
Games!
Sounds like you'll need that second setup. I'd like to join as well.
3.5 isn't my favorite system due to rules clutter, but I could definitely play some. Would love to see houserule list and character creation options soon.

(sidenote: Ran a homebrew Pathfinder campaign for a couple years running recorded on Obsidian Portal ( https://fonoros.obsidianportal.com/dashboard )
and was working on 5E world building and one-shots (https://arbeidet.obsidianportal.com/ ) when I started streaming)
I could be down for some D&D or other pen & paper games, probably depending a lot on when.  I've got some experience on both ends, playing and running games.
I'm interested in playing as well!  Never played before Smiley
Ok I now have time to work on this thread so lets get to it.

First off due the large interest in the games we decided to break them up into 4 separate games. I will go into more detail.
To help keep things for getting too big for the DMs to handle, each game (except one) will be limited to 5-6 players.

Tiornys if you would still be willing, Please host a 4.E game as you wish. Your welcome to use any house rules you wish but i do suggest to keep things somewhat simple for our newer players.

I myself will be hosting a Pathfinder game. Pathfinder is the game i have played the most of and would have a much better time being a DM for.

Wyrmtalon will still be hosting a 3.5E game, however.......

Freddeh has brought up an interesting idea for a game so Wyrmtalon has been thinking hard about how this will be handled and should post his thoughts and ideas soon here

I am currently writing up a Spread Sheet in goggle docs for sign ups and should have it done shortly.
I plan to have Links to HouseRules on this sheet as well for convenience

As always i am open to questions and feel free to contact me on twitter @osey889 if you want a fast response Smiley
Here is the Signup sheet for all games. This will be updated as more information is available.
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1qyqK8pQ6AY5ziutz0M88GpK6gNcb_q0ms5wQ4Lw6-no/edit?usp=sharing

Please be respectful and talk things out. Not everyone will be able to play every game so take that into consideration when signing up.

This sheet is not set in stone, changes are likely to happen as we figure out who handles what if one can't make it.

My initial thought is to provide free Versatile Expertise and Improved Defenses, limit all damaging zones/areas to dealing damage once per turn, and otherwise play by RAW with level 3 characters, set in the Forgotten Realms.  If anyone has comments or requests, please feel free to post!  I'll put some preliminary guidelines on the spreadsheet within the next few days.
Games!
Is there an any option on signups? Which would be better for new players? (ie. no experience)

I'll just put my name down for each, move as needed.
