You're Doing it Wrong!
I've had my DVC 100 for almost a year now, and have been recording (mostly) without issues. I recently uninstalled the Pinnacle software which came with it, as I switched to Virtual Dub for recording, and have stopped using the video editor as well. Now when I attempt to use the capture card, my computer crashes. I've tried reinstalling the drivers from Pinnacle's site multiple times, and managed to have it work once, but the next time it tried it, the computer crashed again. Any help is very appreciated.

If you're running Windows, use System Restore to turn the clock back to when you had the Pinnacle software installed. My guess is the Pinnacle software removed some driver or wrote something to the registry incorrectly and makes your capture programs crash because they're expecting the Dazzle to be "here" when it's really "over there." Yeah I know, not the best way to describe it, but it's all I can think of. Another thing you could try is using another capture program besides vdub just to see if the Dazzle is still working.
I'm having similar issues i think. I recently purchased a dazzle DVC80 and was able to capture to OBS but while i was trying to figure out how to capture sound also I tried resetting my computer and ever since any time a program accesses the dazzle my comp crashes. I re-installed the software just in case because i thought maybe i deleted something important when i realized how useless the software was to me. I have the up-to-date drivers (which were only for win XP) but it was running fine on win 7 until the computer reset. I used a system restore to before i installed the software and I'm hoping this will work but if anyone has other suggestions plz let me know.

About the only thing that I can think of right now would be to change the USB port it's plugged in, and make sure it's not plugged in a USB3.0 port.
I found out that if you have professional or higher you can run programs in XP mode. Unfortunately I do not so I think it's time to resell and find a more recent dazzle that has win 7 drivers. I'm mostly just posting this so other people can troubleshoot further than I am capable of and for people who are researching Dazzle models to not buy a DVC 80 and double check that there are win7 drivers for the model you buy :D.
