So I recently picked up a Dazzle DV100. I've heard before that Dazzle's often have audio issues, but even with virtual audio cable and a Y-cord I've been unable to figure this one out. When I try to stream audio on Xsplit by plugging my SNES RCAs into the dazzle, there is no sound. I couldn't find any way to get this to actually work (I can't remember whether it's windows XP that this is actually supposed to work on? Or windows 7?) so I tried directly connecting the SNES sound to my computer with a Y-cable (it's actually going to my dvd-R, which is then outputting it to my comp). I plugged it into the blue line-in port in my computer. This actually produces sound if I select my input device in xsplit, but here's the problem: when streaming, I also use my mic, and I can't adjust the mic volume separately from the line-in volume, and naturally they're totally incompatible (crazy loud snes sound, crazy soft mic sound). I can adjust the overall input device volume, but the individual ones are just grayed out and can't be moved:

I've tried updating my sound drivers and many similar things. Can anyone think of away to actually adjust the volumes individually? Or a different setup that might work, or possibly some way to actually use the dazzle's sound?

Thanks for anyone who took the time to read this!

We seem to get this question fairly frequently. It gets asked too much for it simply to be user error.

I've always gotten it to work simply by installing the drivers then plugging in the Dazzle. I'd put my money on it being that when you use the driver disc with the Pinnacle software, it creates a "hold" over the audio input.

The fix for someone not having connected the Dazzle is simple. Install the drivers for your OS from here: http://cdn.pinnaclesys.com/SupportFiles/Hardware_Installer/readmeHW10.htm

For you it would be these: http://cdn.pinnaclesys.com/SupportFiles/Hardware_Installer/PCLEUSB2x32.exe

Connect the Dazzle and it should have no audio issues. If you already have Pinnacle software installed, this is when it could becomes an issue. Try simply uninstalling everything Dazzle related, restart the PC and go the above driver route. Good luck!
I actually used that exact link to get my drivers Sad I ignored the CD. My dazzle did have some sort of tag on it that said be sure to install the drivers before plugging the device in. I'm not 100% sure I did it in that order, but I think I did. I'll try reinstalling everything perhaps.
The Dork Knight himself.
Have you tried using Amarectv? The package comes with a file named something like "live_setup.exe" that allows the program to output to Xsplit. It's the same setup I've been using for a while and I haven't had any sound issues at all. http://www.amarectv.com/english/amarectv_e.htm
I've never heard of it. I'll try it now. Reinstalling did nothing unfortunately. It doesn't pick up any audio Sad

Sorry, but how exactly do you set this program up? Am I opening AmaRecTV? I tried doing that and selecting dazzle from the config menu, then just hit okay and got some big fat error: "return: HRESULT =80040217 (FAILED) NO combination of intermediate filters could be found to make the connection" then some other stuff.

@_@ sorry, I don't have very much (any) experience with this sort of stuff.
WOAH it works. Found the fix. Check out this video if anyone's interested, basically just had to change an obscure setting in xsplit.
Hi Carl,

I've had the same issue as you and am using my Dazzle DVC 100 on Windows 7. You can find out more information about why XSplit doesn't work with this capture card here:

http://www.xsplit.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=114&t=13700&sid=2482cb3c66e41eb7734ad9ba74b4e8ca

Basically, I have two workarounds, depending on whether I'm just streaming, or streaming and recording simulataneously.

I split my SNES audio to my Dazzle and my TV. I then open two instances of VAC (audio_repeater and audio_repeater_ks) and configure the audio_repeater_ks one to have the Dazzle as Wave In and VAC Line 1 as Wave Out; and then configure the audio_repeater to have to have my Mic as Wave in and VAC Line 1 as Wave Out. Start both of these. Then on XSplit select VAC Line 1 as your output. I may have got lucky as my volumes mix perfectly, but alas I haven't found a way to change it if I'd want to. I can then choose to either use headphones on my TV or on my PC -- if I use them on my PC it means XSplit will also pickup my Skype/Mumble conversations without them guys hearing a double, but it also means I have to have game audio on my TV so depending on how loud I have it my Mic can sometimes pickup a small double of the game audio. If I use headphones on the TV, I can't have the Skype/Mumble conversation being output too, but there's no double.

However, I setup AmarecTV about 2 or 3 days ago as I wanted to record and stream simultaneously. The recording quality of AmarecTV is great and passed the source file test I posted on SDA a few days ago. And it also allows me to stream with both game audio and my mic without using VAC. I simply configured the program after opening (I watched a short video on YT as I knew nothing about how it worked) and then use XSplit to capture a Screen Region of the game in AmarecTV. It's really simple once you've done it once. You don't have to record either if you don't want to -- you can just have AmarecTV produce an output and capture it.

Hope some if this helps -- not sure if you even need it anymore anyway Smiley
