I looked around some and I did not see anything about doing a Darkwing Duck speed run or that a speed run for this game had been done. Granted I might have over looked it but if I did not I was wondering who would be interested in seeing a run of this game? I know this is not as popular as Chip n' Dale or Ducktales but I thought I would ask and see if anyone is interest in it so I could start working on it.
Thread title:
Waiting hurts my soul...
There is interest, it's in the request list: http://forum.speeddemosarchive.com/post/a_speed_run_request_thread.....html

Watch the TAS(s) and see what can be done with the game. Good luck. http://tasvideos.org/951M.html

When I saw the thread's title, I thought it was about Darkwing Duck the SDA member.

So, about Darkwing Duck, it's about time SDA gets a run, so You have my support.
Thanks for the links ZenicReverie. The TAS video helped out with my planing and now I know where the post is for the request so I don't have to ask in the future.

Wait, why has it taken a month for me to first see this topic?

I've played it a bit.  Haven't played in a few weeks.  I've been able to one credit it while trying to speed run it.  I should be able to one life it if I put more time into it.  I don't think I want to put the time to find a route for an SDA run, though.

My best run so far (it's crap): http://www.twitch.tv/jokaah/b/361655518?t=2h8m35s

I'm really suprised not more people are trying to run this.. it's an awesome game. I can't find any other actual RTAs then the one at Summer Games Done Quick.

15:42 PB now. Sub-15 is easily possible.

Still really sloppy. Just a bit less sloppy then my other tries. Super careful last stage.

So...uh...how do you do that jump in the Bushroot fight?

You just jump at the right time, before the game figures out you are not actually standing on anything.
I use a music que.

I've bought an NTSC NES (finally), so I will keep working on this game when it gets here Smiley
F*ckin' sanity effects...
Wonderful!  Really enjoyed your sub-15, will continue to follow as you post your NTSC attempts.

Got a 14:46 just now (random depry swenglish commentary included). I missed the bushroot-jump though so I lost like 15 seconds there and lost another 10+ thanks to a crappy megavolt stage.
Aiming for sub-14 now.

Some really good small things you do in the first stages timewise.  Still don't quite get the Quackerjack start since a few well placed gas drops nets you arrows for Quackerjack if you start with either of the other guys.

You're still really safe on the final stage.  I started trying to learn the hard strats through the ship, so I have difficulty modifying to safer strats.  Can pick up more time there.

Yeah, I will swith back to Wolfduck first, because I pretty much need a gas drop in any case, at this point, and I'm all for making the QJ fight shorter! I might also start doing Megavolt before Moliarty because I need way more gas on Moliarty stage.

The last stage is really tricky to do fast. I want enough health to boost through most of the enemies that takes a long time to kill (cape-guys and the one that you can only shoot in the back). But at the same time, it would be a lot faster to jump over the canon-guys if I can get it consistently enough. In the very last part, I plan on using way more gas, since I can pick up 20 at the end if I run out.

Since you motivated me to pick the game back up, I've been starting at Liquidator because he's a bit more random than Wolfduck.

Also a simple trick to gain a small bit of time, face the opposite way when you take damage.  You damage boost the correct way.

EDIT:  Streaming it now.

15:36  Three unintentional deaths.  One intentional (last stage)

Got a surge of motivation now, watching someone else run the game Smiley
