As others have mentioned, it depends on the exact times for Friday night. I live only ~20 minutes away from the venue, but I most likely can't get off work that day so it would need to be at least after 6pm for me.

Also since I'm local, feel free to message me if you need any help with setup/running the event. Cook Children's seems like a good choice for charity as well.

I was actually wondering if maybe a small raffle could be worked out, at least for in-person donations.

Friday evening would be good as well, maybe stick with local runners that night for whoever is flying in.

I'm not sure if there will be a "couch" or anything for people to commentate when people do runs.. But if there is and someone that is attending has knowledge on Super Mario World: No Star World and wants to commentate for me I'll give you the go to do so as I don't have much faith in playing well and commentating at the same time lol

Quick update, I have a preliminary schedule. I want to get approval from the streamer and the venue before I go any further though.

What airport would you recommend flying into, and are there any transportation recommendations from that airport to the venue?

Either DFW or Love Field will get you here... I need to figure out transportation myself. Public transit isn't great in Dallas, and I need to pick up both you and Hobz at some point

I guess I can use a vacation day... but since I had said that I would be traveling Friday after work, maybe you shouldn't have scheduled my run then hahaha... it's fine though, like I said, I will just use a vacation day. Don't change anything unless you have to for other reasons.

Do you know of a way to contact JHobz outside of SDA? We could possibly coordinate flights in/out so it'll be most convenient for you to pick us up / drop us off (I'm assuming).

Making a schedule is always difficult, and the organizer will almost always make some mistakes just because there's so much to keep track of. As ghoul said, the entire point is to get feedback on the schedule, in case he missed something. You don't need to apologize or anything, and ghoul's already aware of your concern from the post above ;P

So I'm fairly new to the speedrunning community (mostly a spectator at this point), but I'd love to help out however I can. I'm out in Denton, I can make air port runs and potentially open up some couch/floor space if people would be willing to throw me some gas money to/from the venue--certainly cheaper than hotel and what have you. I'll also happily volunteer whatever time I can that weekend for whatever's needed. Let me know how I can help!

Is there anyway we can get Super Mario World to be done on a Saturday? Just to the nature of how far I am from the place.. I would rather not have to drive there and back all in one day to get to work on a monday lol. If it's not negotiable, then I suppose i'll survive.

I apologize for the very late response.
Friday will not be an option for me, due to the severe action I'll face by attempting to leave my job early (probation and things).
Anytime Saturday and Sunday will work just fine.

Sorry for the late responses - I'll work on moving things to fit in the very near future. I'll probably message everybody with a run in the near future to confirm that yes, the time does work for them. Thanks to everybody who's given feedback so far.

Since I keep struggling with it, does anybody have good suggestions for a name? I can't think of a great one off the top of my head, unless we wanted to keep it relatively simple.
