I know this kind of thing doesn't have a "category" but I enjoy breaking games using tons of cheat codes, like this. I got the run down to 4 minutes, 40 seconds using a specific combination of cheat codes, plus Wild Warp. This is my first "speedrun", unconventional though it may be.
Done with JNES version 1.2.1.40

Rules for the run: Use any cheat codes you want. Use any console or emulator you want. Use the bare minimum items, weapons, key items, spells, etc needed to finish the game. (There is a code that immediately takes you to the ending screen but that doesn't count).
You can have as many items as you want in your possession (allows for the Japanese version's all items cheat) but USE only the bare minimum.
Then, complete as quickly as possible.
As usual for this game, time starts as soon as you can control the character and ends as soon as the screen goes black after defeating DYNA (character will still be visible, on a black field)
