It's definitely not pixel-perfect and there are much faster ways to do than I did in my video but the way I do it is I accelerate and hold right so I curve towards the wall, hit the wall, then drive forward while hugging the wall until the little tuft on his hat(?) is below the finish line, reverse until the front of his hat is below the finish line, drive forward a tiny bit then accelerate while tapping right so that the car ends up facing vertically and is behind the finish line (a decent length behind it. If you're too close to it the lap won't end but if you're too far you'll be on the 4th lap) and then driving right and finishing lap.

IF THAT'S ANY HELP?? Reading it back, I don't think it is :>

Not sure if this is known, pretty useless now but if you decide you want to get Leviathan for some reason, you can skip taking the risky run through the bubbles by jumping into the pit nearest the boss room then running through bubbles while you're invulnerable. They can't sweep you away.

Hello everybody, just wanted to let you know i've picked up this game to speedrun and have to say it's harder than i expected.
I did one run and died a few times, and the end stage was really bad, failed the clip to final bosses a few times although i didn't know how to do it properly. Should have rewatched Geurge's run again before i started. My final time was 1:09:48

I also wanted to let you know a found a little glitch at the beginning of the final level. When i timed it, it was about 9 seconds faster then the current route. Even though i failed it once.

Oh man, that's a cool skip you found. looks pretty hard, just what this game needs, another hard skip at the end lol.

Also I managed to do a great run considering this is my 3rd ! I lost 1 minute at the very end cause I didn't remember what to do x(
Final time 57:05 (and without using savestates hehe)

I was thinking about routing a 100% run, that may be really interesting I guess. So it would be all golden apples, all bosses, all animals, 3 medals and last sword? Do you see any criterion in order to do this category?

Yeah i'm sorry man for that little skip, it's not that hard when u get it though.

And yeah i had been thinking about 100% aswell. Although i don't think i'd be that good at routing it.
all golden apples, all bosses, all animals, 3 medals and last sword seems about right. Don't think there's anything else you should have.

I'm almost done with the routing, I may post a run in the next days.
I'm in trouble for now, cause you can get a golden apple for 800 gold (plus the animals you have to buy), but I guess I'll have to kill some ennemies in order to get enough money. Gold bags doesn't seems to be enough.
I think we'll be able to find some new skips/oob in this run, there is so much to do ! Cheesy

Emulator has slightly less lag, haven't done major testing, but on emulator going from the start of the game to beating the wolf I could get 3:31, but on console my best is 3:33. Also, during the Roxie fight (The rope guy) there's way less lag. I'm not too bothered if people want to run on emulator as I'm pretty sure me and Ion are the only ones who actually own the game lol

Are you sure that emulator get less lags than console Geurge? Cause I didn't remember any lag on the Genesis, but I sometimes have huge framerate drops or something, especially on Roxie Fight but it's not the only one ! Anyway I hope to get the jap game in the next weeks Smiley

Ok so I'm almost done routing 100% .
It appears to be quite fun except getting the 800 gold for the apple. The only way I found is farming the training camp before getting back to the main town... So it's quite boring ^^'Ok so I'm almost done routing 100% .

How many coins can you get during the game? 800 seems like it wouldn't be too bad during the course of the whole game.

If it helps, I don't think the one time use animals like the cat are needed for 100% since they are not a permanent part of the inventory. It's been several years since I've played through the game though so I could be wrong.

Also, if it's possible, hold off on buying the golden apple in the park until you are about to go to the past version of either the beach or valley. If the town isn't affected by the time tornado and you can talk to people again, that should be a good time to buy the apple. You'd probably have the money by then and it's not a lot of backtracking. Just an idea.

Well if we consider that I don't buy animals (cat, bat, bomb = 200) I guess I can reach like 600 gold quite easily, but maybe I missed 1 or 2 gold bags, not sure about it .
Well the animals are part of inventory, even the cat who is a "passive" animal.

In my route I planned to buy the gold apple at the very end, right before getting to the last dungeon Wink

In fact the route I tried to do is quite ok, I'm just annoyed by this last golden apple :p

I managed to do my first run in 100% .... 1h47 but that was an awfl run. I'm pretty sure we can 1h30 quite easily.
The farm moment was boring but I found a better way to get money.
The run is really fun to play tho, I'll upload a decent run when done ;p

Ok so this is a decent 100% run, but anyone can improve it cause I made some mistakes about the routing. Good RNG on Roxie tho.
This run is really interesting cause we can see the whole game . I guess that we can find some improvements here.
Final split 1:30:48, 1:28:xx is easily possible with those strats

Ive watched the run and I enjoyed it but you missed a life/golden apple (unless it's not in the JP version). If you go to the second floor of Soleil's castle in the present and have Flash out there will be a conversation with the rug. An apple will appear in the tub above you afterwords. Things are looking good otherwise. Keep it up.
