The article explains it well, but Crimson Echoes is that ROM hack that SquareEnix ordered a cease-and-desist for when it was 98% complete after being in development for 5 years. I woke up this morning and found out it had been leaked. What a way to wake up, eh?

Wasn't there something that said that anything game related that was fanmade was legal if it was non-profit, meaning Square wouldn't really be able to do anything? I could of sworn I read something like that but I might be thinking something different.
