Let's fight to computer!
There is always the Playstation version, although I don't really recommend that. The load times and such will drive you nuts.

AND I don't own the game for PSone. The only way is to find a capturing software that works under win 98 or millenium.
Have you tried "Camtasia" or another program I believe is called "GameCam"?
boss
I never heared of such software. I'll try them later.
Swedish Fish
Great run,  really enjoyed watching it.

GameCam and Fraps seem like not recognizing kain.exe as an application. And Camtasia lags the shit out of me. I get 10 fps max on BO.  :-/ I don't think it can be captured... Too bad, because I see great speed running potential in this game.
MGS for PS1 forever.
You could always output to vcr...from your video card.

That was quite awesome!  Shop manipulation was funny.

How exactly does that shop manipulation work? I see some saving going on, and the music restarts every time, but he stays on the same spot. It's been a while since I played Diablo, but if you save and load, you don't end up in the same spot IIRC, and town portals disappear.

Good idea! I'll get my VCR back (<3 Harry Potter marathon @ my gf's place) and see what I can do.

Every time you load your game, shop stocks are different.

That happens in Diablo II.
Not true. On single player, everything is saved. Your location, your town portals... Monster doesn't respawn.

On multiplayer, you always start at the same spot (Near the river in the south of the map). The town portals and the mosnters respawns in Multiplayer. The dungeon changes, but you can enter by the 4 entries depending of your level (1, 8, 13, 16) or something like that.
Normally I get bored if  try to watch Diablo runs, but this really managed to impress me to the very end.
Totally awesome run.  Spent many hours playing Diablo.  MOOOO!  Excellent cow clickage.  It got a bit confusing when you were at the witch buying your way to victory.  I'm sure getting the right stuff to appear was a pain.  Great work on all of the dungeon travels.  I loved how close to death you got at times.  Well done!
TAXI
Yeah awesome run, is anything like this possible in D2?  Beating all the bosses naked I mean?  Stuff like that is what makes me love speedrunning.
boss
It is possible, but not for my nerves.  Smiley

Great run of great game. Incredible fast ... I thought it was impossible to do such a time.

Swietny bieg, groobo, wreszcie mamy Polaka ze speedrunem na SDA, i to w tak swietnym stylu ^^

For all non Polish - Awesome run, groobo, at last we have a Polish man with speedrun on SDA, and one done in such a great style too!
I used to be athiest until I realized I was God.
I'm not totally familiar with Diablo 1, but how come you didn't make greater use of teleport? There was a lot of walking around in the later rooms, and you ended with a couple mana potions. Am I missing something?
you walk hell slow in town, woudl be longer to go buy mana and come back.

(my tought)

10 hours work on a construction site... Not fun... No fun at all...

1 tp scroll = 1 tp cast
1 tp scroll = a shit load of gp, 3k

And even if I had a tp book drop I wouldn't use the spell much because of the high mana use.

Bp_ you got it 'almost' right... You have the same walking speed no matter if you're in town or in the dungeons. The tp book itself drops very rarely or can be bought in shop for 16k(?) which just isn't worth it. (And I don't even have 1k after I buy all potions.)

Yes, I'm from Poland. Thanks to everyone that cheered me up.  Smiley
I've just registered here, so I haven't yet said this but...

HOLY CRAP!

Almost the whole run I was sitting with my mouth open..I still remember playing the game quite some time ago, back then, I really had a difficult time in the lower few levels.

Really impressive run Smiley
I used to be athiest until I realized I was God.

Hail Discordia!
First, I should say that this is an A+ class speedrun, and it's one of my favourites now, together with HL2 run by HL2dq team and Castlevania: AoS Boss Rush as Soma by dingusSJr. The amount of planning and groundbreaking execution is something that really speaks for itself -- congratulations, man, you're my hero now!

I really enjoyed the way you avoided nearly all monster encounters aside from the cases when you needed an item, and I laughed pretty hard when you traded those +19 mana/+6 att rings for mana potions. Your fight with Lazarus and the whole Diablo's lair stage were just jawdropping, to say the least. Overall, the whole run is leaving an impression that the game itself has made everything as convenient for you as possible -- as the result of your inhuman manipulation and planning. Damn, I wish every speedrun looked like that! It already looks almost like a goddamn TAS, ffs -- and the fact that it was played in realtime makes it even more impressive. %)

I have a few questions about the video capture, though. First, why using DivX for HQ (especially now that we have much more superior x264 and XviD for a long time now)? Second, there were a couple of instances where the image quality f*cked up pretty badly for no apparent reason (mainly in the hell levels after the long shop manipulation). Why is that? Also, I assume there's no uncompressed backup to recompress the HQ version from, right? :\
I love YaBB 1G - SP1!
First time poster so i don't know if this is against the rules but heres a link to a way to run blood omen on xp but it looks like a pain anyways here ya go http://www.thelostworlds.net/BO1-XP.HTML
