It would be ready long ago but I can't get that damn LAME MP3 encoder to show up in virtualdub. Virtualdub's manual dosen't clear that up for me...

Try this: http://lame.sourceforge.net/index.php

Edit: Or this should work too: http://www-users.york.ac.uk/~raa110/audacity/lame.html

But I haven't tested it!
Visit my profile to see my runs!
Sda has truly been privileged to some great improvements, lately; this included.  If you can also beat 20:00, you'll have reduced our record by almost two thirds.  That's simply incredible.  Keep it up!

I've found a way to get the time under 20 minutes. You'll have to wait a little more, sorry :P.I'll release the final video here, before sending it over to Radix.
Seriously.. Diablo in under 20 minutes. Who woulda thunk?

After adding the 9.5s penalty for 19 segments the final time is 18:45. I'll be uploading the MQ version soon (You'll have to wait for the HQ untill it gets past Radix and the verifiers). Someone tell me where to host this stuff, everyone is complaining about sendspace and filefront  Tongue

edit: nevermind....here's the vid

That was quite awesome!  Shop manipulation was funny.  Most importantly, you still clicked a cow.

Great job!

I don't think I'll be doing a non-sorc proffesion Diablo run. I'm looking forward to run the orginal Blood Omen, (A classic! YES!) or Diablo II.
give me your eyes!!!
I've never played the game before, but I watched the original Diablo speedrun a while ago. The differences are jaw-dropping, you just killed the game and poor marshy's attempt. Really enjoyed it!!
Amazing run, definitely one of the best I've ever seen.
Funny thing is, just last week I beat Diablo using a Rogue but I did take a lot longer than you.

PS: Diablo run under 20 minutes by a Naked Mage nonetheless.

Too bad that there's no you-see-what-you-wear feature in Diablo. Seeing little groobo in pink male strings would be more entertaining than forcing the cow to mooo. Grin
wow, you improved it so much in just three days! awesome job groobo

Fortunately, I've broken my leg 2 weeks ago. I can only sleep, eat, shit, have sex (More important than shiting), and play video games.

And thanks for the compliments everybody! Smiley

Holy crap! 35 minutes faster (almost)! You sir, win the internet!
The weirdo all around you.
I never saw the original run, (or played the game, I just watch people play computer games really) but I get the feeling I'll hear about speedrunning for a few more years, so what the hell.

This video is very impressive. Love how he doesn't wear anything when defeating Diablo. ;p Also your strategy was very impressive.

Let's fight to computer!
If you do that Blood Omen run I'll be interested in seeing it, mainly because I never really got anywhere in that game myself. Lord, but those controls were clumsy.

(edit: I win the new page!)

So what? I officialy own the internet now muahahahah. But seriously, I'll be installing Blood Omen tomorrow. I've decided that Diablo II is just too random for me.

edit: A run with map manipulation (creating a new character every time in order to get the fastest stair locations and changing the stats with some third party program as they were in the previous segment?) would be considered tool assisted or a different category (with map manipulation or so)?

Lol, poor Marsh, cutting his time by 3/5...congrats on totally raping his run time Tongue
Glitching EB 1 flying man at a time

I have a sad information to those that wanted me to do a Blood Omen run. BO is not win xp/2k compatible and Fraps is only win xp/2k compatible, which mainly disqualifies this run beeing done (unless there's any other capturing software working with win 98 / me that I don't know about).  :-/
