What is your favorite/coolest chase scene/mission you've encountered in any videogame/movie...lol/whatever :P. By chase mission I mean the ones where you're running away from a big monster that slowly catches up to you, or against the clock before some building you are in explodes. Usually you have some crappy view, such as the jak 2 chase scenes, and some of the time they are pretty hard. When I talk about movies I mean well chase scenes :P, in car, on foot, whatever. So uh enough rambling post your comments Grin

Speed is the key.
When you're chased by the Dahaka in PoP2: Warrior Within.
Killer Chobocos don't get any chocolate.
Disc 7 of Phantasmagoria

"arrgrgr... I though you loved me"
My favorite one in recent memory IS the Jak 2 one, actually.  The chase scene with Daxter with the music and all was great.
DMC3,ZOE2 and Xenosaga 2.  Am I crazy?
Uuh, I can´t remember otherst than the ones in Jak 2 and they were good. In cutscenes I think the chase scene in Xenosaga II in Miltia Highway was pretty cool.

This one is pretty good, it's from a movie, though.

I´ve been looking for that link for a while. Thanks! It indeed is a cool chase.
Sleeping Terror
Not much is coming to mind... but Beyond Good & Evil had some nice chase scenes. The hovercraft ones were especially fun, and the one with the Matrix nod was great too.
Fucking Weeaboo
ZOMG ZEBES IS GONNA EXPLODE RUNNNNN!

give me your eyes!!!
I liked Beyond Good and Evil too, as well as the Dahaka stuff.

My favourite moment is similar to this but not actually a 'chase'.

On Fahrenheit (Indigo Prophecy in US) there is a scene where you enter a house to find the woman you're supposed to meet dead. You then get a time limit bar depleting along the top of the screen and a varying split-screen of a police car's progress towards the house.
I searched the house for clues but took a long time doing so, and watched in pain as the last seconds ticked off. I was in the main hallway when the timer stopped and the police got out their car. I thought 'oh crap I've failed', but they hadn't actually found me yet.
I sprinted to the far end and through the door into the lounge-type area, just as the police entered the hallway.
I finally left via the window, with shaking hands and a big grin on my face.
Your almighty lordship
In Resident Evil 4, all I had to do was hit A to escape too! I wish life was like that...
I can't believe no one mentioned the chase seen from MGS3. Who could forget that one?

Well, it's my most favorite anyway.
give me your eyes!!!
Oh yeah sorry, I forgot...
Obey the Daleks or be Exterminated! Riiiiiiight...
Mos Eisley and Beggar's canyon from Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire.  It was so much fun ramming enemies into walls, although on difficulties from Normal to Jedi, it is also very possible to get yourself killed by flying straight into a wall at a high speed.

Watching that made me feel like I was watching a live-action speedrun.

My favourite is when you are escaping at the end of Bionic Commando. Time limits made me nervous when I was little and first playing the game. To this day I still get nervous when I get to that part, even though it's incredibly simple. Damn human brains.
welcome to the machine
Super Metroid's final escape.
Only 1 chase scene comes to my mind..

The one in Harry Potter and the sorcerer's stone where you are chased by that trull.  Ah, memorys (not saying they're good though).
When, in Half-Life, you have to run past the first Gargantuan to flip on the power.  I made the mistake of looking behind me only to see him barreling toward me.  I ended up hiding behind the nearby boxes on reflex before he killed me and I got my nerves back.  But, damn, it seems so close every time.
4NT
The chase scenes from Ganbare Goemon 3 (SNES) are quite memorable. First of all you have four characters that all must be kept alive while being chased by huge robots. (Quite difficult.) Then the robots are very nicely done, especially the ninja one. And yay for Mode 7 effects!
everybody wanna tell you the meaning of music
I can't think of one right now I especially liked, but I dislike in general how the chasing is often adaptive/fake, like in Yoshi's Island, those big chomps that chase you. If you're going really slowly, he will too, but if you are running fast, he's still right there.

In movies it's dumb how cutting the wire or escaping the building or whatever is always done just in time. But in games it's even worse since the completion time is controlled by the player. Like whenever you escape with a lot of time in a Metroid game and they still show the planet blowing up right as you leave.

Resident Evil 3, Conker BFD [Jaws segment], Silent Hill 3 [the funhouse with the ominous and inexplicable white light of doom], Shadow of the Colossus [any colossi, but particularly the Lion, as it's pretty much over if he ever gets a hit on you], Crash Bandicoot, Home Alone [NES; christ that game is hard], Starfox Adventures [T-Rex], Resident Evil: Code Veronica [Mutant Steve], Sonic the Hedgehog 3 [opening level], etc.

Coincidentally, my Jaws, Ren & Stimpy: Stimpy's Invention, and Beavis and Butthead run all have such moments, but, comparatively, they are laughably forgettable.  [Though, the one in R&S is somewhat immortal, as it truly suffers from poor source tape.  Despite Nate's amazing restoration job, that portion of the run was less clear a picture than if I were to vomit on a carousel and stir it around with a yard rake...]
Wow forgot about the dahaka, also for a movie you can't forget the blues brothers... best chase scene ever... Grin

That is so true. I´ve never seen so many scrapped cop cars.
Hello Everybody.
I'm not sure if this counts but the motorcycle cjase from FF7 which was so badass it should be illegal. And the boulder chase in the first crash game.
MarioKart64.com biotch!
Umm when I walked around a corner in Doom 3 and the chainsaw guy was waiting and he started chasing me while i ran backwards blasting him with a shotgun.
