cant open need codecs

ive tried everyhting i cant open certain wind waker movies.

i can open all but 1 789 and 10.

any help....?????????????????????

All the videos are encoded the same. there's no reason you should be able to watch some and not others.

If you are using XP with a post ice age player there is some bug with the codec selection in the media layer of windows.

I got a stupid bug once that on a number of videos an annoying feedback beeping would accumulate. It never got away until I set the whole machine up from scratch.

One thing I never tried back then is, however, going into your sound setup (would be in the control panel -> audio settings -> hardware tab -> "videocodecs" down in the list -> properties -> properties tab), removing any suspicious looking codec, reinstalling divx, rebooting, praying, trying again.

(Note: actual names of stuff may vary, I'm citing from memory since I have a localized version here.
Praying is also optional, but it's not labelled plug&pray for nothing)

I'm pretty sure ffdshow can play it. I've used it for everything the past year and a half probably and nothing can make it complain. Google around for it, and get the latest alpha. It's not a media player of its own, it installs itself as a directshow filter. You gotta use mplayer2 or some other player that uses directshow to enjoy the wonders of ffdshow Smiley
