Sorry if there is already a thread for this but I couldn't find a decent one.

Does anyone have any info on running the campaign, any skips, speed boosts, glitches, gun tricks, thanks guys.

All the best
Thread title:
Wake up and be awesome
Funny thing is, there is already a BO2 thread, but not much was discovered, so I won't bother linking it
Lucky for you I've done extensive work in this game, and I'm willing to help. I have to go now, but later today I'll help you
Also I just realized, someone made a knowledge page for this game, so check that out
I also did a speedrun of this game a while back. My strats are probably outdated, but it's still worth a look:
Wake up and be awesome
So I watched the first mission and here are some things I noticed

MISSSION 1 / THE VERY BORING MISSION
Once you get full control of your character, immediately run towards the overturned truck to your right. Opening this spawns the mortar squad
On the boat, once you clear out all the guys, destroy the boats BEFORE they board, if you do this, the final boat can be destroyed A LOT faster (weird glitch I found)
Sometimes Hudson takes his sweet time opening the crate, so you got pretty lucky with his positioning
The mini-boss fight with the heli only requires 2 precise shots. Don't fire immediately , otherwise you'll miss
The second half of the mission is basically scripted

I did notice that you would sometimes jump after sprinting, much like the sprint-jump trick from COD 4. This trick only applies to modern warfare games sadly
And just a quick question, was this single segment or segmented?
It was single segment and as I said it was more of a test run, I abandoned it prety quickly unfortunately, maybe someday i'll finish a run Cheesy
Wake up and be awesome
Ok, that's what I figured from the cutscenes in between each mission

I'm happy to some activity for this game, even with all its issues. I'd love to post some of my runs, but I don't have a recorder (should probably get one). Oh well, I'd love to help get a run submitted if at all possbile  Grin
If you submit it i will gladly verify it.

Anyway, here's just a quick question: What's your personal best with the Ziggy portion of "Karma" ?
Mines is 0:53 but I can get somewhere around 1:02 on a regular basis
The reason I ask is because I saw somewhere that people were able to get Oob in that segment, this could be used to get a ridiculous time
To be honest, the last time i played that game was the time of that recording, 5 month ago so i have no idea off the top of my head. If you search through the recording you will find it there, other than that i can't answer your question.
Wake up and be awesome
Oh, sorry to bother you then. Well I'll look around some more to see if I can find anything useful
Wake up and be awesome
So I've been doing some digging around in YouTube, and this is what I managed to find

Invincibilty, which might seem awesome, but of course you can do this at a part that is completely useless Angry
This is interesting, I'll have to look into finding a way of clipping through the door (or stopping for that matter)
The only use for this is possibly getting closer to Hudson, but that's it (still looks cool)
Only OOB that look useful is the one in Celerium (combine this with the infinite flight glitch and this might lead to some interesting events), and the one in Old Wounds, this could be used to get a stinger missile faster than normal (though this is useless if doing anew game + run, since you can just equip the stinger before starting the mission

No luck with Ziggy,
yet
Happy with the responses so far Smiley does anyone have like a very rough idea as to how long the full campaign would be? even just a general time
also what difficulty should this game be run on?
Wake up and be awesome
If you're very patient and up for a challenge, then try veteran. If not, the do regular or recruit

And just a rough estimate. If it takes 15 minutes roughly for each 11 missions, then it should some time that I'm not aware of. But you can definetly get under 3 hours, "possibly"
hopefully in 2 weeks time I will begin this then, either that or finally get around to fully routing Skate 3

I wanna do it on recruit just to give myself the 'easiest' time but I feel that's kind of cheating . . . in the wrong way
Wake up and be awesome
Doing a run on recruit isn't cheating at all. In fact I consider it the "realistic" speedrun. If you can get a good time on veteran then that would be f****** incredible, but considering the amount of luck required just for a recruit difficulty run (trust me, there's a lot of luck), it would take a long time before you finish a run that you'd be happy with.
Also look at any FPS speedrun (excluding Halo) and you'll see that most, if not all runs are done on the easiest difficulty. Hell, most games, FPS or not, are run on the easiest difficulty
I'll start again on recruit, another small issue I'm having is when do i start the timer?

There is a small cutscene at the start before you start control but should I start the timer after this cutscene or as I press go?
Wake up and be awesome
I'm not actually sure, I'll have to ask someone. For now just worry about getting a good run, then we'll worry about timing
Usually timing stars when the player has control over the character and ends when the player looses control. For instance, "lo1ts" on twitch times his MW2 runs when he get's the first weapon of the table. So in BO2, timing would start when the first truck you climb on starts to move.
got it Smiley on a side note i can shave 7 seconds from my toy story run by default Smiley
Wake up and be awesome
Wait, someone streams MW2 runs?????? How did I never know about this. Sorry for the irrelevant post
http://www.twitch.tv/lo1ts/c/3603337 WR baby
Wake up and be awesome
God dammit, I thought I was the only one still doing SS runs of MW2, oh well, guess that gives more of a reason to get a recorder.

Anyway, back to BO2, I thought of a potential timesaver for old wounds. Before you enter the area with the two tanks, an explosion sends you into a cinematic cutscene, but does that cutscene play out if you're not a horse? Only problem is that the horse might run off
Wake up and be awesome
So, I've been taking a careful look at the infinite flying glitch on mission 2, and I think there's real potential here. I managed to clip through the first wall, it's the second wall that's giving me issues. My theory is that if you clip through the second door, then you'll be thrown into the cutscene that normally plays out in there.
you got any videos of this happening cos im struggling to clip the first wall
