Give me money or I shoot you in face
I noticed this was on the demand list see, and I have been trying to perfect myself something worthwhile for it.

Besides counting the intermissions between levels and those really annoying scenes where it's just interrogator and all the little maps and displays, I have managed to shave my time down to a pretty modest 2 hours 20 minutes or so, after counting up all the times and using my stopwatch to count the plays. I am pretty sure I don't have much I can do in the way of purely running for my life. The large gunfight scenes would probably save me a minute or two more at the most. I used the principle of never running out of bullets. I used this especially well getting out of the Russian Roulette Scene by changing my AK-47 a total of about 6 times before grenading my way out with the GP-25.

I was thinking the only way I can really make a massive difference to what I'm doing now is to find a time saving glitch, no matter how small to try and cut a few seconds off. Does anyone know of a sorta exploit like that? This is a segmented run by the way...

Blops, from what I've seen, is a terrible speedrun candidate due to the heavy scripting.  I'd suggest trying Modern Warfare 2 instead, which can at least be broken a little bit.

Yeah, I can see why it's actually only semi-speedrunnable at best, but I've already completed a run for it. It wasn't til' I actually began improving my time when I realised actually how much was cutscenes and briefing instead of "running" so to speak...
Why does this keep happening to me?
I really can't say I know of any glitches on that game... I've tried looking at youtube for some help on stuff like that once because a few missions were giving me hell on veteran, but all I can find is an out of map glitch for the level "Numbers", but it doesnt lead anywhere, oh and the commonly known thundergun easter egg too; pretty sure you've seen that. Sorry but I don't think glitches like that even exist in this game. If they did, Treyarch woulda patched them at a seconds notice, because a story mode glitch is clearly more exploitive than a game breaking multiplayer glitch, right?

Yeah, I hear you. The Ak-74u and FAMAS online ._. I've never played such a uniform game in my life. I looks like everyone is at it to be honest. That's why I don't play the online.

Back to the topic though, I also agree. I don't think there are any outstanding, and I'm not the sorta person who'd run around and search for hours to find glitches like that. I guess I'll just leave what I got as it is.
more keys then pablo escobar
have not touched the single player. because im not interested in call of duty for story. if the missions videos were skippable i would have beat it.

only play online and zombies. but these are boring me. its so overpowered gun and connection dominated its getting to the point why bother.

so i was thinking of playing the single player.

i would speed run it but people want to see veteran. and from my experience with world at war speed running veteran is not an option.

i would rather speed the easiest difficulty because less randomness.

i tried to speed run WaW in veteran but grenades were crazy and the random headshots on me were extremely random. almost like the game wants you to take it slow.

also cutting out the videos would be good too.

it would also be better if you could choose classes for single player. it would be alot faster running with a sniper rifle for me. one shot kills and so on. instead of spray and pray.

Hey, I just was checking to see if anyone else ran this game and looks like someone does. I have been trying to speed run this game but I find that its to badly scripted in a way that even if you do the objectives super fast you have to wait for Woods or/and Bowman to get to the next part anyway. Although, there are a few things I have found on my practice runs of this game. Sadly, they barely save time! Also, they are mostly in the Operation 40.

First skip is in Operation 40, you can clip through the bar door when Woods opens it. Just stand right up to it and it will go right through you. BEWARE: This sometimes causes my sprint feature to stop working. ( Not sure if its just me or if its actually the game )

Second skip is also in Operation 40, you can skip the bullet time ( the slow motion part right before you go to kill castro ) if you shoot the enemy in the middle before it starts. ( like a second or two window to do this but I find it's easy to pull off )

The last skip in Operation 40, you can shoot Castro's Clone and his "bodyguard" girl with the initial breaching shot which skips Woods ranting on about how she protected him even though Castro's clone used her as a human shield.

The Final trick I find useful is in U.S.D.D ( the 4th mission where you shoot down the missile ). After you save Weaver, you hop over a bar then run to a ladder. If you jump to the ladder while meleeing it then you can skip the long animation of Mason getting off the ladder and pulling your gun out. This only really saves a second or less but it helps!

I hope that you do know about reload cancels and that the SMG's, Shotguns and Pistols make you run faster as well as whatever weapon you have out changes how fast you fun.

These are all the tricks and skips I have found so far. I highly doubt that there are anymore though.

Like I said, I think this game is horrible to speed run for the soul fact that there so many parts where you have to wait for Woods or Bowman to catch up with you, as well as those annoying parts with the interrogator that you can skip. I think that Black Ops 2 would be interesting to speed run because, like you said, you can customize your loadouts to make it the optimal for speed. As well as, you can have a 100% and any% since there are things to unlock.
Wake up and be awesome
So I was reading on the COD wiki the other day and saw that someone mentioned how going into the menu, diabling offensive content, and play the mission numbers, you skip THE ENTIRE INTERROGATION SCENE. So I tried it, and as it turns out, it works Smiley . Saves about a minute or so

I also messed around with a well known Numbers OOB trick that I like to call the sign jump. Doing the sign jump can actually take you pretty far in the mission, but much like every freaking OOB trick in this game, you need your allies to move up to make it work, which they don't Sad

Finally I discovered an interesting sequence break for the first mission. After dealing with "Castro," running straight to the exit of the compound will prevent the BTR from ever appearing. After the whole dialouge finishes between Woods and the other guy, the door will open and then the BTR spawns, but you can just run to the side. This saves quite a bit of time, considering you'd normally have to deal with the BTR.

That's all I could come up with yesterday. Much like every other COD game, I'm interested in running this game and improving the current SDA run if I ever get a recording device
