So the laggs are the same no matter what resolution, and without recording. I think it must be unplayable when recording. But I really dont know why it is lagging, cause my PC actually should handle that.

Another, very very important thing for a speedrun is, that in Broken Sword 4, you can NOT skip the dialoqs and cutscenes, which will probably double or even triple the gaming time. For me thats no problem, I hope for you neither cause of course they are funny  Wink

@ Shephard: How fast is your machine and how big your RAM?

@all: I have tested Game Recorder now and it really works great. I like it.

Well my computer isnt that bad, but I only have 1 gb of ram. Could this be the problem ?

And I will also test ZD recorder now.

Edit : How exactly do I record with it in the game ? It only records the dectop for me. Maybe this program can only handle games  like Broken Sword 1 and 2, and not 3D games.

I think that shouldn't be a problem. What's with your CPU and graphiccard?

Or maybe if none program works, you can record it with a DVD recorder or if you haven't got one, you can record it on a VHS and I could record it to my PC if you would like. Wink

F9 ist standard for recording.

Could it be that you have downloaded the screen recorder instead of the game recorder?

@ Zero

CPU - P4 3,2
Graphics - x700Pro

Well recording on VHS could be one solution.

@ Nino

Yes, I know. but I am very sure that I have screen recorder installed and not game recorder. I will test that now.

Edit : Well it is working but again without sound.

But maybe that is no problem, because how said I could play and record it on another computer. But that computer is quite bad, so I dont know if it will be unplayable.

But actually the laggs arent there all the time, so it might not be that bad how I thought.

Tell me what you think about it.
About the sound, I can't speak for others but I would prefer to hear the sound of the game Smiley

But if you have too much difficulties trying to record it with sound, then go ahead and do it without sound.
Yes, I want that too.

So I recorded the first level now and the quality is good to it's size. The game and the video are lagging, and I dont know what I should choose about the hertz in the game and the frames of recording.
Adventure Speedruns
When you use fraps or game recorder, you will see in the corner how many fraps are running through the game. If during the game the maximum frames are 20, the you don't have to use 30 frames.

If I am wrong please correct me.

The thing with the sound is really quite strange.
Another idea would be, to put the sound card of the slow computer in the fast computer. That would be the best solution in my eyes.

Well, this would probably work, but would be my last choice. Oh, and I am probably getting Broken Sword 3 on english now.

If I can get it on english, I should be able to run it on my old computer with sound.

Ah that would be perfect! Grin
Well well, seems like sometimes I dont have problems with lags in the game, so it is actually possible to run (even with fraps). I will play the whole game through as fast as I can and then look at the time, +/- seconds.
Speed is everything!
Yeah okay. And when you'll start?

Well, I have to find time to play the game through as fast as I can how said. And while doing that I am looking for a solution to record with sound. When I have a solution for that I will start recording.

Ah okay. Wink
Well I am at the very middle of the game (6 of 12 levels) and have a time of ~ 1:30. This time can be improved and the remaining 6 levels are not that long, so it is not that long as it sounds.

Yeah that's nice!
Adventure Speedruns
That sounds really great.

I hope the problems will all be solved.

Good luck.
