Broforce is an Indie game by FreeLives Studios that I've been having a ton fun with. It's still under development with more content being implemented so any speedruns/times are subject to change as it is worked on.

So far I've made 2 categories.

* Any% (kind of a NG+) - You start the game with all bros unlocked and try to beat the game with the bros you are dealt. Very RNG dependent as some are much much faster than others. My Best time is a 14:06 (http://www.twitch.tv/bl00d_thunder/c/3941895)

* Rambo% - You clear your bro unlocks and only use Rambo (starting bro) for the entirety of the run, you can not unlock or use any other bros, taking a lot of the RNG out of the run. My best time is a 19:22 (http://www.twitch.tv/bl00d_thunder/c/4055067)

Recently this game was put on Steam and with that a small update that introduced a "Hard" mode that seems to make enemies more alert. The current "Normal" difficult is identical to the default difficulty before hand. I will probably continue to run on Normal, but if people wish to start doing Hard runs then it would need to be a separate category.

Well I don't know how to properly use him rofl, and having to get up close to ppl with no ranged weapons is hard to deal with when you're as bad as I am Smiley

If you're having trouble with enemies shooting you as Neo, just use his special. Other than that, Neo is typically fast enough to get past anything.

I also looked into the 3-4 trick you found and got it to work. It didn't seem to work in Fullscreen but windowed did the trick. It is easy enough to setup, so that makes the run much easier. 3-4 is one of the few that are really annoying to do. 4-1 is also really bad.

Pig flying has been around for quite a while now, but it's not very useful for speedruns. In any level where a pig is present (very few), there is no advantage to use this glitch over simple sprinting.

You can use this to by pass the "cutscene" on the jumping boss but considering you can still move during that "custcene", you can simply sprint to him instead.

PS: My thumb hurts now. But I don't have the dash option for keyboard controls. Is that a mistake from the devs?

I finally got a good run through WM%. Here are my PB's which should have all the up-to-date strats. Execution might fail sometimes but if you have any questions go ahead and ask away.

Sadly I somehow managed to lose my good Rambro% run. So I'll be grinding that out the next few days. I've encountered quite some interesting mechanic with Bronan though. If you spam his attack he speeds up dramatically. He's even faster than Blade since it looks like it stacks indefinitely.

So there's no way to pick a bro in the game? That sucks, but that's what makes runs of this game interesting and infuriating at the game time. I'll probably be picking this up because Mario is just frustrating as all hell.

I don't know if this is the best time or not, but I did get a sub 8 time in Expendabros today. Let it be it was worse than it should have been, but sub 8 is still sub 8. Pretty fun game. Sadly I improved my time already

good news is I found a few skips you can do so sub-7 is possible. Maybe even a very low 6 minute run. My sum of best (even though it's flawed due to the nature of bro RNG) right now is 6:28.

First skip I found that saves a few seconds is right in the first level. The cutscene trigger is not all the way up through the level and starts right before the middle checkpoint. So if you have either the melee or minigun bro you can special over it. All other bros have to do a pixel perfect jump from the top of the tower to get over it.

Second skip is far worse because it requires the melee bro for his special. With him you can skip the final boss cutscene by chaining your special onto the "tunnel" buildings. After that you just have to get inside somehow.

This run is, beside of this completely useless death and the terrible first boss, ok. My current goal sub 7, but I need to grind a lot more if I want to succeed.

Hey there !

Does anybody run the Brototype ?

I think it does have some good points still today :
- free
- "stable" (no more updates with new characters, etc.)
- easier (shorter) yet harder (bosses aren't the easiest ones, and less OP characters such as Machete)

I don't have the "full" game yet (the Early Access one, I mean), so I started running on the Brototype.

To compare with the EA game : Helicopter boss is the simple helicopter that shoots bigass bullets and drops 5 big bombs over you, Tank boss is the one where the general gives you finger (or something, looks like a french "bras d'honneur" to me), and the Final Boss is the same.

This is the last screen, meaning I defeated the last boss in less than 2 minutes. Without dying. What the hell.
I probably won't beat this in a long time, consdering the luck I had with RNG.

Also, nobody seems to be running the Brototype in single-segment. But I don't wanna call this a WR, so let's just say it's a "late" (considering it's a... beta version of the alpha game ?) PB. Cheesy
