ok so i just tried an OP8 UVHM speedrun and OP8 NEEDS to have separate rules if it becomes a thing. the enemies health regen is rediculous. i had knuckle dragger shocked and on fire and he was regening health. my vote is for 2 blue guns (no slag or lawn chairs) and a blue normal shield. it might even need to be blue shield of any type considering Randy thought it would be a fantastic idea to not scale health..

In just a 72 no-OP run, this is a terrible rule. Zero is lucky to Slag *one* enemy with his Kunai, Krieg and Sal have *no* way to slag without a gun, and Gaige needs Interspersed Outburst (which has at max a 10% chance to slag at 5/5). Axton's turrets can nearly guarantee slagging multiple enemies per use and Maya's Ruin can guarantee slagging at least one enemy, or an entire group when used with Converge. The no-slag rule is just a big middle finger to everyone but Maya and Axton. :/

As for rockets, they aren't strong enough to ban. During my few attempts as Zero, I was lucky enough one run to get both a slag sniper and a white Bandit x3 rocket launcher with 5 rockets per clip. An unshielded, slagged Armored Maniac ate all fifteen rockets *and* a last-second Execute before I finally killed him with a regular melee attack.
I agree. I don't get why people don't want slag weapons in the runs. It's fair if all characters can have slag weapons. And it doesn't make the beginning boring as shit for the runner.

so.. CBenni found a video from the gearboxsoftware forums which shows a glitch for the skill Buck Up. Essentially you get a really fast shield regen using the glitch which has 0.0 delay.

I seized the moment and rushed to do a NG w/DLC speedrun with this in hope of an SDA submission, I ended up getting a 2:42:33

got a 2:48:51 just now, awesome gun luck level 20 bushwack ~130 x 15

3 amps shields during the run and the last one gave 200+ amp dmg and had 800+ capacity

I stacked the shield more than 10 times, I think something arround 10 is enough and you can do that much before bunker

No hornet or BP in early game and I lost 2 minutes on Bloodwing by my own fault
Speed > Safety

And the game finds awesome ways to fuck me around, too. Meh.

Ah, but that's why he said OP8 with 2 blue and a blue shield (I would disagree on the no slag part at least).

Regarding regular 72 0 OP - we're still working on the rules (little discussion has been made), but I'm still in favor of 2 green (no slag or launchers), and a basic green shield.

So RTB and I are currently working on a patch for Borderlands 1.1.0 because that version still has the old amp method: it applies amp to EVERY SIGNLE bullet of a shotgun when amp is active. This will add beyond insane damage to mechro! Imagine a 150 amp damage shield with a 17 bullet shotty...

We are having some issues but I hope we will get them sorted out today.

EDIT: Apparently we need a original release pc dvd or an iso of that - or even better, a backup from any version in between 1.1.0 and 1.1.3. Can anyone give us that?

Could anyone tell me what level amp shields become available? I thought it might be level 10 ala rocket launchers but have had no luck getting one in Sanctuary's med-shop at level 10. Shocked

e: by the way, i have a working mechro patch of the game which has all glitches available, including broken-amp. Smiley it's pretty easy to set up / source, and you can it in parallel to your existing files.
Haz, please pm me about it. We are hving quite a bit of trouble getting such a (noncracked) version running, since the only person with a 1.0.0 version (original dvd) cannot upload that as an iso.

I'm not sure if it was previously mentioned throughout the post, but what about a DLC-less Level Cap run? Like NG and ending the run at lvl 50. I'd be interested in this category, but I'm not sure how long it would take without the use of explots/glitches.

Only as a reference Broman's NG 100% run took almost 11 hours and I don't remember which was his final level. So, this level 50 run could be something like that but in the place of quest you would do hours and hours of farming. I really don't know if anyone would be interested in running this category, but for me it seems very boring.

I'm not discouraging you, If you really wanna do it, go for it.

Ok Cbenni was kind enough to make a level 50 Mechro, with vladof RL and purple Jackobs shotty, Which has the story mode untouched (First Playthrough) so that we can test jumps through the story mode (you need to buy grenades you start with 9 of 10,000 lol

Ok after some testing because i had an idea to do with Rocket Lawnchairs we found out a few things.

1. YOU DO NOT! need to have rocket launcher ammo to do the ammo glitch : By using a RL already set up to have the free shot (passed to you by another play in Co-op for example) you can just switch out an in to get ammo for other weapons.

But what if I need RL ammo i hear you cry!!!!!! well....

2. You gain Ammo for weapons by winning them in a duel : ... yes its true I Asked Cbenni to empty his RL stock to 0 and dueled him for a vladof RL let him win and then ... he had 4 RL ammo

Only simple things but yes they do work Tongue

(Free ammo from duels may only effect you if your ammo stock is 0)

Btw, how is the work on the 1.1 patch? It will be insane to have a 100+ x 13 shottie on level 12 because Amp dmg shield. Probably it'll eliminate partially the need for better shotguns, at least if you don't go to the Fight For Your Life (as the Amp shield won't work here)
