scripts?

of course, the usual as in all previous quality hl runs -> bhop and damage boost scripts.
A HL run without scripts does not make sense in our eyes and we are not trying to submit this to SDA either, we just had the thrill to perfect the game in order to complement the series of perfected HL runs.
We also felt that the old record had to be obsoleted since it was not optimized and seeing how it featured scripts, we decided to go by the same circumstances.

Version is mentioned in the credits Tongue
It's v1.0.0.1 and played at 72 fps (due to an fps cap in the old version).
Great work! And how did you decide whose turn is the next segment? Did you challenged for the segments or how?
train kept rollin
Cheesy  Just curious what the damage boost script does?

Most of times it was down to the runners speciality, which means we judged by aspects of the map/segment that would favour one of us and decided accordingly.

For example, quadrazid has pretty much mastered the object boost technique and is much better at it than me, so he ran all the segments that featured object boosts.
Thats just one example but that was the general rule.

As for parts that didn't really favour anyone of us, we just decided spontaneously or challenged and compared our times in order to pick the fastest one.

Sometimes we also decided by the amount of segments that each one of us had done in order to stay fair so that both of us have a similar segment-count.
In the end we almost tied with quadrazid having done 59 segments and me having done 55 segments.
So involvement in the run was pretty much 50/50 which was our goal.

well, basically just a 180° turn script that enables us to boost off a wall which is right behind the player with no speed loss which would normally occur when quickly trying to turn manually by mouse.
But I just realized it was only used twice in the entire run, since most of the boosts were simple enough where a full turn wasnt required.

Object boost scripts were also used.
Hey guys,
I am surely going to watch this. What do you think about recording an audio commentary (=why haven't you done it :P)?
Exoray
Cool to see an updated route. Some parts could definitely go with some written comments explaining wth is up Cheesy

The mp4 seemed to be suffering from some artifacts and stuttering in a handful of segments but played well otherwise (VLC 1.1.11).
Loved the thing after the credits btw Smiley

hmm thats weird, video works perfectly fine for me with no artifacts at all (VLC 1.1.10).

And yeah, I was about to write some comments explaining a few things in the run as theres some stuff thats not pretty clear for people that arent familiar with the engine or 'deeper' physics of the game at all.

Sounds good. Smiley I never played Blue Shift (only HL1 & OpFor) but this run was fun to watch.
A Crab
Just got time to watch the run yesterday. Loved the houndeye boosts and the amount of time spent at 1 HP. It's got zany goodness all around, good job!
Very entertaining to watch. Thanks!
.
Nice run. Enjoyed watching it. Smiley
I'm a Half-Life runner ;)

Keep up running games with this level of optimization guys !!
I am afraid no ones riding nothing!!!
Crazy run. Enjoyed it immensely.
