Hello all! This is my first post on SDA but i've been doing speedruns and stuff for the past year, and ever since I started i've been going on and off about doing a SS run of the original Blinx for the original Xbox.
The only problem is that there are very few resources to use. The only things I could find have been a few glitches, some ILs, and some random things I keep seeing on cheat sites.

The two main glitches I found online have been Trash Stacking and Wall Clipping, and while they sound useful and are cool to do, they inevitably fail in a speedrun considering that the goal of each level is to defeat all of the monsters in any given level before reaching the exit, which means that Clipping through walls won't make much of a difference considering that you'll have to go back to kill the monster(s) you left behind anyways. As for stacking, the invisible walls in the game make it really hard to do what would be some great oob stuff. It just ends up being just a bug that allows you to get a height advantage.

As for the ILs, they seem cool but it's obvious that they did some major grinding for the sweeper that allows you to pick up heavier objects that block shortcuts. Which seems to be a waste of time imo. Also they are very few and far between.

And finally the cheat site stuff. I keep seeing the same things on every site I go to that offer "cheats", in particular they talk about this way of finishing levels fast or skipping them all together.
You can give them a try, I couldn't get either of them to work. But if you can get it to work be my guest and record it while you're at it! http://www.cheatcc.com/xb/blinx.html

Anyways, if you guys have any suggestions how I would go about doing this or if you considered running this game yourself, please post!thumbsup

I've considered it, but I'd need an original Xbox as the emulation for this game on the 360 is laggy as hell.

I haven't noticed any major useful tricks; it would simply be an efficient playthrough - managing time crystals, buying Fire/Ice sweepers to take on the Fire/Ice lizards as approprate, buying Spike Bullets against bosses, etc.
Found my old copy the other day and have been looking at running something for the last few months.

Blinx was an all time favourite game for me so I am defiantly going to sink time into it once I get a new "original" Xbox.

Are there any set categories for the game?

Seeing as money and crystals carry over, I only see SS/Segmented Any%/100% and IL Any%/100% being valid.

Yeah pretty much just any%/100% (maybe low% with just the default sweeper) are the way to go.

In other news, I've been really lagging on playing Blinx (mostly because I don't have an original Xbox), but when the time comes that I do have one of those monsters, I'd love to start going back to it.
Also, has there been any updates to confirm or not the "cheats" actually work or not? My bet's on that it's written by the same kid that talked about how to get mew under the truck.
Arkham speed runner.
I would love to see a single segment run of this game, was one of my favourate titles in the xbox generation also, the second game was good also but in it's own different ways.
I get my XBOX on Thursday so I am going to start routing and what not! I am also interested in running Mad Dash Racing! But thats for a different thread Smiley

Good luck on routing it Lump!
Also, on that note, to hell with Forgotten City! Always has been my least favorite Round in the game.

So, i'm not exactly sure if this saves some time or not, but if you double jump to the left at the height of your spawn jump in Deja vu Canals Stage 3, you can jump on top of the wall with two enemies on top for you to kill right off the bat. Once I get my original Xbox stuff i'll look to see if any other levels do this and if this one in particular would save time. The only problem is that there's one enemy you would miss so you would have to go back down to get him (unless if you could do some legit trick shot but good luck with that).

I've been having issues with my current Xbox, but once I get it fixed again i'll be routing out Blinx.
Legend of Mana
I always was interested in this game, and it looks like it could be fun to run. Got my hands full with Legend of Mana at the moment, but I would not mind doing some research for this game if I can get my Xbox here when I go home.

So, I found something that may be interesting. I was messing about in Forgotten City and I found that can go Oob. It doesn't seem helpful right now but maybe there is a way we can use this to our advantage in other levels. I have a video of it uploaded

Found another glitch using a Super Bomb. If you are in fast forward you get to live another hit, so if you use a Super Bomb to propel yourself forward, you can skip a bit of an area. Pretty cool stuff

Just to point out, if you are running this game and are in need of some cash for a sweeper. I would highly recommend grinding on the Time Square Boss as his stage gives you a pause to use on collecting all of the cash the boss drops along with some high value objects to get some more cash at the very end which gives you another 120, making it easily the greatest level as far as time for cash is concerned.

Having beaten the game again I thought a few things should be said when routing the game:

1. You get a new sweeper 4 times. A Fire Sweeper by stage 2 of Forgotten City and before Everwinter, and then a Ice Sweeper for Stage 2 of Mine of Precious Moments and Stage 2 of Forge of Hours. These sweepers cost about 3000 each, so you're looking to spend 12000 total on Sweepers.

2. Once Spike Bullets are unlocked you're seeing about purchasing ~16 of them, 4 for the Ice Molegon, another 4 for Red Trash Robot, 3 for the Dust Hearder in the Boss Rush, then finally 5 for Time Demon, these all cost at 400 a piece but they get cheaper if you buy in bulk.

3. Once I finish routing any% I plan to do a run of 100%, this includes getting all Cat Medals, Getting the TS-X7 Supreme, and finally max Time/Retry Holder and Sweeper Pack. If anyone would like to change this definition send a reply or send me a PM and we can discuss things

4. Chrystal Management is going to be very important to the run. I will make a list of soon of what Time Chrystals to have for certain levels before hand and where to get them before hand. Slow Mos and Pauses are your friend for bosses. Early on grab FF's as they help make the smaller levels speed by pretty fast.
Any updates on this?  I'm interested in this game, but not so much actually pathing it out.
Would love to try this out, but yeah I gotta find my xbox console first XD
