I recently decided to get into actually running games myself after watching speedruns for about a year, and thought it would be fun to try this game out. The game came out on steam in 2012, but it was never a very popular game from what I've seen. After a bit of searching around I haven't really found any information on this game for running, so I was hoping that somebody might know something helpful for figuring out a route. I messed around in the first level a bit and managed to get to a few places that are supposed to be out of bounds. Unfortunately none of what I found seemed to be useful in the areas that I tried, but I will keep trying. I would really love some help if anyone is interested in the game, or some advice for finding tricks since I have never done anything like this before.

Edit: Here is my progress so far: Sorry for the poor video quality!

Edit 2: So I managed to get further along in the level, but apparently the switches to open doors do not spawn unless all of the events leading up to that room are completed. I got stuck at a very large door and tried to get past it for a while, but I couldn't find anything. Another problem is that the gun does not spawn which means that it will be hard to find a way past the bridge later on in the level.
Thread title:
oh man i had some decent fun with this game because it's not quite bad enough to be bad but it's just bad enough to be amusing
I'd probably be willing to mess around with the game in the future but that will probably have to wait until after SGDQ.

I am completely not surprised that you managed to get out of bounds.

unfortunately i ran into a bunch of invisible walls in my casual playthrough (see http://www.twitch.tv/crate3333/c/2749248 ) but it would not surprise me if you could get around or over some of them
I'm glad to see someone else interested in this, whether or not you find any time to work on it after SGDQ.
I just found this in the PS3 demo, I don't have the main game so don't know if it works there too:
Nice find! I couldn't get it to work with keyboard + mouse, but I could sort of do it on controller. I had trouble with the timing, but I only tried for a few minutes. I haven't really been working on this much since it seems like triggers need to be hit in order, but if I can figure out how to get that trick consistently I may mess around a bit more with it. Is it just timing the pause menu? I kept falling down after my attack before it would let me attack again, so I usually only got off 2-3 combos.
The triggers seem strict in this game, but there may be some shortcuts possible, at least.

The way I do it on PS3:
1. Double Jump and start doing the attack that gives you height, but enter the menu when she has *just* committed to doing her final spinning-animation (this part is crucial, or you lose height).

2. Enter and exit the menu.

3. Upon exiting the menu, I spam jump *and* the attack that gives you height at the same time (the  technique is easier to do when spamming both these buttons). Note: I think the game registers your inputs before you have even left the menu, so start pushing buttons nearly as soon as you've pushed the button to exit the menu.

4. enter the menu when she has *just* committed to spinning.

5. Etc.

It's also possible to breakout of prompts by entering the menu just as you activate it.
Thanks for getting back to me on this! I messed around a bit on the first level of the game and I jumped over the door across the gap that I was stuck at before causing the room beyond to not load the floor and wall textures which was interesting. It also let me walk through a door that should have been closed since it wouldn't load unless I waited around where it should have been for a while. I still haven't found a way around the trigger system, but I will see if this can lead to something.

Sub 1 hour in GoW:GoS is my GOAL!!
Hi folks ! =]
I'm actualasing this interesting thread because lately I guess I've dicovered maybe useful things who knows, check this out it speaks better than words :
Truljin @ Twitch
I remember looking at this a while back and it did remind me of routing Singularity, similar engine and having to hit certain triggers. I remember early on skipping the lava ravine and the game would just not load the next part of the level so pretty much useless.

Yeah I agree but as for now this is the fastest way to move around I guess, some people already tried to speedrun this game even of restricted triggers and it could end up pretty well entertaining ! I might plan routing it.
